If you have to visit a country in the Middle East it would Jordan. Our girls trip there was one of our best travelling experience. As black girls we were a little anxious but as we were searching and planning the trip, turned out that Jordan is very popular and black people are often going there (no worries you will not be the first).
We arrived At amman at 2am and took a taxi (150usd for 4 people) directly to aqaba just to save some time. The Yafko hôtel in Aqaba is very affordable, clean and well located. Great staff, they helped us to plan all our visits during the stay (taxis, bus info to Amman, geep rental for Wadi Rum and Petra). You have to test the food at Al Shami restaurant OMG! It’s in a popular street with several restaurants and shops at 5mn walk from the hotel.
Must see : Wadi Rum of course, the desert experience will remind you how small we are, it is a very humbling experience. Arrive veryyyy early to visit Petra and the Deir Monastery, its a long walk but worthy of the effort. I couldn’t stop taking pictures…
