Namibia we got to see Walvis Bay (WalvisBaai ) which was a good adventure . I love how the one side is the beach and the other side is the sand dunes and the dessert . The adventures in Namibia involve having to surf on the beach, learning how to surf and enjoy the beach side.

We got to take the quad bikes on the dunes and explore the dessert and all the sand. Other options would be camel but quad bikes are more adventurous and so much more exciting. There is sand boarding in the dunes .

Windhoek is the capital of Namibia. It’s a stunning place but relatively small compared to other cities around the globe. Windhoek it self does not have a lot in terms of activities to do that cannot be done in other places , None the less Windhoek offers several historical tours and stunning sight seeing locations.
Just a tip for foreign travelers… the local taxis can sometimes be unsafe(especially for foreigners) so when In Windhoek I recommend opting for dial a cab (a local 24 hour cab service) that is very safe. The number for dial a cab is tel:+264 61 223531.

i wouldn’t recommend a lengthy stay in Windhoek as there is not much to do. But believe you me, they have fun activities to partake in. Sand dunes, camel rides, the beach, the market. I really enjoyed it

Windhoek is Namibia’s capital city, it is a small city in comparison to other cities around the world mainly because of the country’s small population.

There are quite a number of things to do in the city.

There’s a museum in city center that offers history on the people of Namibia. It also has a restaurant with food from different cultures.

One of the must dos is visiting an open market called Single quarters and having Kapana. Kapana is diced beef sold in a unique Namibian way with what is called Kapan spice, do not leave without experiencing this!

You can go bowling in Khomasdal, which is a suburb not too far from city center.

I’m not big on the nightlife so I can’t give a detailed review about that but there are quite a number of clubs on the town.

Alternatively, drive to Swakopmund which is a four hour drive to see where the desert meets the ocean. The best view! Found only one Namibia.

    NAMIBIA
Windhoek is the capital of Namibia. It’s very small and doesn’t look like a typical African city, the infrastructure gives you quite an European feel, a bit like SouthAfrica. I stayed for 9 days at a Hotel called PENDUKA VILLAGE 10km from the center and payed 1700 NAD = 120$. The hotel was very nice especially the employes but I didn’t like the local food and you can’t leave the hotel and walk outside without a driver because of the high insecurity. Taxi to the city cost me 2$.
I’ve visited the Okambala elephant lodge and the Nnankuse Lodge (lions, cheetahs, caracals, monkeys etc). These lodges are 45min from the city (5$ with Taxi) and perfect for those who can’t visit the Etosha Park (5hours from Windhoek) for Safari.
I’ve booked a 2day camping trip to Sossusvlei for about 250$ with http://www.chameleonsafaris.com
After 7hours of drive we finally arrived at the namibian desert. I dont know how to describe this experience. I was so fascinated by the Dune45 and the Deadvlei. I can definitely recommande this great experience.
Back in Windhoek I went to Opuwo only to visit the HIMBA’s, ancient tribe situated in the northwest of Namibia. I took the bus for 8hours and payed 15$.
The Country lodge Hotel cost me 240$ for 3 nights and they organised a driver for me who spoke Otjihimba. He brought me to the Himba village not far. I asked them to spend the day together, learn about they’re culture, eat, dance and wear like them.
It’s just fascinating how they keep they’re lifestyle / culture, I was completely in another world.

I could not find any information on google how i can go to the village. It is difficult to find reviews about african small villages, how to get there etc.
As i arrived in windhoek I just asked ppl and they told me i can take a bus and the bus driver took me to the country hotel.
I only paid the bus, hotel, my food at the hotel and brought the Himba’s rice, sugar, salt, foufou and cigarettes.
They didn’t ask me for money.

For those who like discovering, solo or in a group, this is for you.
    P.S Excuse my english

    2 days in Namibia:
Windhoek Namibia is a small town and not that many interesting things to do however if you can get transport (we rented a car) and get yourself to Swakopmund (about a 4-hour drive from Windhoek) or shorter with a flight. Swakopmund is a coastal city where the desert faces the Atlantic Ocean. One of the best ways to view this is through doing a quad biking tour, depending on the time of the year and when its the most hottest it might be better to go early in the morning towards noon cause trust me its hot out there. The quad biking takes you through the dunes (with an instructor of course) and although might sound like a simple task can be quite challenging in the desert.

We used a travel company called Desert Explorers Adventure Centre and really got value for money (PS: the nicer you are the the tour guides the more they show you). This includes sand rifting down one of the dunes which is scary but is a must and I probably still have sand in my ears to prove it! This was followed by a camel ride offered by the same travel company.

The next day you can take an hours drive to Walvis Bay. On the way to Walvis Bay there lies the biggest dune in Namibia, called Dune 7. This is one of the must do’s (if you brave enough) to go climb or attempt to climb it, apparently the feeling, view and bragging rights are great (I wouldn’t know I chicken out…383 steep meters is a bit of a stretch for me). In Walvis Bay we went Kayaking in the morning and got to kayak in the ocean surrounded by seals which was quite an experience.

There are many other options if you not the adventurous type such as Dolphin cruises which is more relaxed way of possibly seeing dolphins (not a guarantee) whilst sipping on some wine and fresh oysters-this is offered by the same company but a simple trip to the Walvis bay tourist centre by the bay in the city will offer a number of other options.
