Cayman has tons of things to do… one in particular is Captain Marvin’s Tours …
Although we were terrified of getting in the water with the stingrays, Richard and Christopher put our minds to ease and we got some great photos thanks to Eduardo. Having this crew was simply put — AMAZING! Getting the pictures were super easy as he simply Air Dropped them to my phone and provided a USB! I loved that they didn’t make us choose from the photos like most companies do and gave us all of our photos (even our hilarious candids!). Highly recommend for great prices and professional/experienced crew that will ensure you have a great time and memories to last forever!

I visited Grand Cayman while on a Carnival Cruise. Grand Cayman is a very quite, slow- paced island, great for rest and relaxation. My significant other and I chose to simply stroll around the port, and later visited a beach-side restaurant, not too far away from the port (traveled by taxi). I think that it is important to note that when cruises stop at Grand Cayman, they anchor a little further out, away from the island. To access the island passengers are then transported by smaller boats (tenders), directly to the port. I think that this makes things a bit more tedious and time consuming, and I would much rather a port that I can disembark and immediately access the port/shore. I think that this is important to note, and consider, especially when travelling with children, seniors and or persons with disabilities. Although I don’t regret briefly exploring Grand Cayman, I think that the next time I’ll opt out of leaving the ship at this port, to stay on and enjoy a relaxing day at the spa! There are however many things to do such as jet skiing, swimming with sting rays and turtles, parasailing, snorkeling, riding a semi-submarine and kayaking, to name a few. Most cruise ship passengers pre-book excursions such as these ahead of time, via the cruise line.

Cayman Islands was actually a “work” trip for me, if you want to call it that because I for sure did NOT work! The company paid for it so travelling on someone company dime can’t be beat. We stayed at the Ritz it was nice but we didn’t spend much time there as we were “working” most of the time. I was with nothing but black people from the states and the surrounding islands. they treated us with the utmost respect the entire time. I’m going to say my favorite part was the night life, I could be biased because they set the events up for us but it was a great time none the less. I had to leave a day early (more work in the states) and I feel slighted about it lol. When you get a chance go.

The Cayaman Islands is one of the smaller islands within the Caribbean. A lot of their products and produce are imported and they pay a large importing fee for that. You can travel the whole island in less than 5 hrs, according to my tour guide. The beaches are beautiful, the people are sweet and the food is delicious as heck.

The beautiful Cayman Islands is a place to go for ultimate relaxation. It’s a sleepy, retirement country, and super safe. It’s a British country, so the currency is different, as are the customs. There is a strong Black presence, and it’s warm and welcoming.

The history and authenticity to be discovered could sometimes be overshadowed by the tourist effect, but it is definitely seen and felt if you go with an eye and a heart toward it. But like all other stories of the past, you must pick your narrator in order to discovery the story that includes you. One version of Cayman history is that of Christopher Columbus’ last voyage, while the other story, the truer story, is that the early inhabitants of Cayman came from Africa and Europe – some by choice, some the victims of shipwrecked slave ships. Those ancestors were known as “free coloreds.” Still others came from Jamaica, bringing enslaved Jamaicans with them. Our presence is felt so strongly.

Coming to the Cayman Islands is a dope trip but I’m gonna keep this review short and simple. Visit the stingrays…it’s a great excursion and also go to Hell ( it’s not what it sounds like) but if you know you know…you’ll have a great time.

The Cayman Islands will forever be my favorite Caribbean Solo Travel Destination, because it was a solo trip by default. I booked on Wednesday and flew out on Friday. None of my friends were available on such short notice.

I chose my last minute destination by going to google.com/flights and left the destination field blank. It showed that the Cayman Islands was $180RT from Miami through American Airlines. Once that was booked I was able to use my Marriott points for the weekend. All of my excursions were booked through the Grand Marriott, which made planning very easy for me prior to arriving. Traveling Solo was the scariest, most liberating, life changing experience of my life.
I gravitated to the crystal blue/green water to snorkel, scuba dive, paddleboard, and the unforgettable experience of “Swimming with Sting Rays.”
Cayman crime is low. I felt safe walking on the strip of Seven Mile, laying out on the beach, and exploring the island to indulge in local dishes.
Pay attention to your surroundings as you would in any destination. Resorts could give a false sense of security.

Key Tip: Rent a Car.. There is so much to see and do!
Greedy Tip: Try the Fried Snapper at Eastern Star Bar and Fish Fry *Thank me later*

This island is one of my favorite islands I’ve ever visited. I stayed in Georgetown near 7 Mile beach for 6 nights and 5 days at Margaretville Beach Resort and Spa with a package deal that came to a total of $3,000 for 2 ppl including the flight . The one thing I love about Cayman is that you can crash most resorts and live it up on the beach. Just bring you own towel and sunscreen. The weather was fantastically warm and there was a lot to do. I did the cave tour for $30. They do take US dollars but the will give you change in CI (Cayman Island dollars). We took taxi to most places and many of them did not take credit card so bring cash everywhere. Also, there is a bus that you can jump on for $1 because the taxi rides get pretty expensive. Wwe got lucky because I have a friend that stays on the island. Also, Margaritaville had complimentary bikes to ride which came in handy to view the island during the day. Try Rum Point for Sunday Funday and on the way there stop by sting ray city to kiss the sting rays for 7 years of good luck. Visit the caves for a historical story for $60/pp. Visit Tortuga Rum to try the famous rum cake for free. All of the bars were great. However, I felt everything was a little pricey seeing as CI dollar was stronger than ours at the time so make sure to download a currency app to help with the calculations on prices. Overall, the beach was the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. This place is good for romance or with family and friends. There’s so much to do and see. The mosquitos are really bad but the people are SUPER FRIENDLY!!! Everyone loves everyone and you can feel the energy on this island. It is a small island so people tend to know some of the same people and they also frequent the same places. Get in, find a local and find the best spots that interest you!

Been to Cayman islands twice. Absolutely an island for the rich and those who seek extreme quietness and a very dormant nightlife unless you go out with the locals. Its extremely expensive there but it’s one of the safest islands I’ve been to. I would retire there for sure. Sting ray city is a must see, Rum point on Sunday’s are where the locals go for there yacht/ boat parties and to relax. I don’t recommend for young couples looking to party unless you’re looking to just vibe and relax.

I recently came back from my trip to the Grand Cayman Islands. Overall, I had a good time. I went with my girl and son and our focus was to get away from Winter’s harsh frigid cold weather into some tropical sunshine and beaches. I really wanted to soak up some sun and relax by the beach, while enjoying the beauty of the ocean. Sounds like some stuff out of a romance novel huh, lol. Honestly, it was on some real chill vibes out there people were cool and layed back. I got the chance to snorkel, and swim with the Sting Rays as well as see the starfish. Weather was great, but this place is really for just chilling in my opinion, great if you want to take Bae or your fam. It’s expensive even though I knew that going into it, when simple breakfast for 2 is over $100 you pretty much know what you’re getting into. The night-scene wasn’t much of anything that I could scope out, and they shops close early around 5pm. I like the fact that you drive on the opposite of the roads opposed to how it is in the states, and they have cars with right side steering wheels. It’s a small island you can travel around it in hours, and pretty quiet town too. PS. Watch out for the mosquito’s, they’ll tear your skin up and you won’t even realized you got bit up. Enjoy :)

The primary goal of our trip to the Grand Cayman Islands was literally to relax. My friend and I rented a car which was extremely cheap appx $20 a day, gas on the other hand was not so cheap, close to five dollars a gallon. There were so many options for adventure such as stingray city where you could swim with the stingrays, we also read about bio luminescence tours and other snorkeling tours but because we wanted to take it easy we decided to drive to starfish point. Starfish point was about an hour drive from the 7 mile Beach where our hotel was. When we arrived we noticed that the beach was very secluded which made the experience even more magical. So we were just walking along the beach and looked down and saw a big red star fish in the water it startled the both of us because neither of us had ever seen a starfish before. We didn’t see any rules posted anywhere I just done some research prior to the trip to learn that the starfish needed to remain in the water and that bringing them out could cause them trauma so we were careful not to bring them out of the water. We hung out at the beach for the rest of the evening and saw many more starfish along the way. Afterwards we went to a very upscale restaurant minutes away from Starfish Point called Lunar Delmar where they had soft jazz playing while we enjoyed a 9 course dinner on the beach…It was extremely romantic a bit pricey, dinner for two amounted to nearly $200 but we thought it was worth it! Because we enjoyed starfish point so much the next day we made the hour drive back to that location and spent our morning there. Although we didn’t do many excursions on this trip it was perfect for meeting our needs of relaxation.

Visited the Cayman Islands as a cruise twice. The first time, I went on an island tour and visited Hell. There is a tree full of iguanas, a local shop to buy souvenirs, and an opportunity to take photos by the lava rocks. In August 2018, I took my niece on a combo tour with snorkeling, stingray city, and starfish point. I just wished that we had more time at each stop. The water here is beautiful. There are tons of tropical fishes and a pretty coral reef. The waves at stingray city were a little strong. You will feel the stingrays swimming past you. There are photo opportunities as well. At starfish point, you will see multiple starfish. You may pick them up, but it is important to keep them underwater. The starfish does not feel slimy and you will feel it’s suction to your hand. Along the waterfront where the cruise ships dock, there are multiple shops. Be sure to visit the gelato shop. I bought caymanite jewelry, rum cake, and a pineapple candle in a coconut as a reminder of the vacation.

Cayman Islands are small, but you cn do a few things here. They’re known for Seven Mile Beach. The major excursion is swimming with the sting rays, and playing with turtles. Make sure you have your wallet ready, because the food, drinks, and transportation here are really expensive. Not for the Budget traveller. You could also do the excursion where you scuba dive and go all the way down in the ocean, but I didn’t care for all that. Also, go to Hell, which is on Grand Cayman. Just nice to say that you’ve been to Hell lol

The Cayman Islands are flat out remarkable. The beaches are priceless, Food amazing, people are genuinely happy and friendly, lots of adventures. I did sting ray city and the Dolphin experience and Loved every moment. Its not everyday you get to kiss a sting ray. =) However, even that excursion i felt like was rather expensive. The prices of things are really up there. I got a Conch Fritter platter and a Tequila sunrise and pay upward of $45. So if you traveling here, make sure you save up! its worth the experience but its costly.

Cayman Islands are known for their beautiful beaches and stingray city. Swimming with the stingrays is a must. They also have a really fun activity called Sea Trek. You can walk on the ocean floor with a scuba helmet on your head. Very cool experience!

Loved the Caymans and 5 mile beach. Did an island tour that took us to the lighthouse and also enjoyed an atv tour around the island. Accomodations and food is expensive. I dont think there are any all-inclusives so an air bnb is your best bet. Transportation/taxis can be pretty pricey as well. Spent a lot of time at the Margaritaville in the town, super fun at night!

There are warm weather destinations everywhere from the crystal clear waters of the Maldives to the lush, green mountainous landscapes of St. Lucia, but there is truly no where like the Cayman Islands. This British Overseas Territory of 3 very small islands is located just 1hr away from Miami, Florida but also has direct airlift from NY, Toronto, Chicago, Jamaica, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, London, Ft. Lauderdale, Washington, Tampa, Dallas and Nassau. Grand Cayman, the largest of the 3 islands is home to the world famous Seven Mile Beach which in actuality is only 5.5 miles long, Stingray City which is not a land-based city but a shallow, sand bar where you can feed and swim with wild and VERY FRIENDLY stingrays, and not the mention a wide selection of amazing food in over 200 restaurants. There is really no shortage of things to do in the Cayman Islands as a visitor. While most visitors land and stay in Grand Cayman, it’s really worth hopping over to the sister islands, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman for a day trip. The 3 islands are so different and each offer unique experiences.

The US dollar is accepted everywhere at a rate of CI$0.80 = US$1.00

Majority of the hotels are along the Seven Mile Beach which typically cost a bit more than an AirBnB apartment or condo but if you want to wake up on the sandy shores of paradise, then the Seven Mile Beach is where it is.

Nightlife is quite unique in the Cayman Islands as all bars and clubs must be closed by 3:45am on Fridays and 11:45am on Saturdays–wow!!! No supermarkets are open on Sundays but you can surely catch the local ferry or a friendly local’s boat out to Rum Point in North Side where you can mix and mingle with other visitors and locals on the water. It’s like a big pool party but only in the ocean. It’s pretty awesome.

There is so much to talk about this little piece of paradise in the western Caribbean but it is so worth the visit.

Cayman Island is a very unique island with lots of things to do. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. There are so many local restaurants walking distance, another place all inclusive not mandatory. Please do some excursions/activities such as Starfish And Stingray City, Spott’s Beach to see turtles, Smith’s Cove great for snorkeling, paddle boarding etc. Enjoyed my birthday in Cayman.

Known for it’s crystal blue water, fantastic snorkeling, friendly islanders and some of the best beaches within the Caribbean. With lots of activities to do, places to see and great things to eat and drink, this place is bound to keep you interested, entertained and well fed. Although the U.S. dollar is weaker here, and things are more expensive than most other Caribbean islands, I still had a great time. I hope to return to her someday for more fun in the sun.

Seven Mile beach in Grand Cayman… Clear, warm water, mild waves, you can see schools of fish swimming all around you. Lots of places to lounge and have drinks with food and reggae. Parasailing and jet skis are there if you can pull yourself from your drink and beach chair!
