I actually lived here for two years. I find it to be a very interesting city from a historical standpoint I can’t see outside of visiting castles, museums and parks it is not really a tourism mecca thing and would be a good fit for most travelers. I would think Germany is a two or three quick trip combining with someplace else…

If you like England you will love Germany even better. Plenty of pubs and their culture of drinking and partying is second to none for Europe.

If you’re into WWII history, Germany in general is a good place to visit. Personally I find the food pretty bland but other people can’t get enough of the sausage, schnitzel, and beer. Around September and October is good time to come because there are countless wine festivals in September followed by beer festivals in October. Christmas markets are also very popular.

Welcome to Frankfurt. I am from Germany and I still live to visit Frankfurt because Frankfurt is very Beautiful. You can find things to do in Frankfurt and to visit. Germany is Known with History. If you stay in Frankfurt you can drive everywhere (Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherland, Prag, France, Switzerland, Austria) in 2-4 hours drive. For Black People you can travel with no problem.

Frankfurt nicknames “Mainhattan” and “Chicago on the Main.” Considered a global city – it frequently ranks in the top ten best cities to live and do business – Frankfurt has also long been an important center for cultural and tourism activities.
The best places to visit in Frankfurt Mainhattam:
The Römerberg: Frankfurt’s Old Town Center, The Museum District and The Palm Garden. The Palm Garden is nice in the Night because of the light.

Food you can find everywhere, Greek, Italian, Turkish or German food.

I was passing through Frankfurt on my way to Jordan. Traveled with a group of friends and found it relatively easy to navigate. We had a long lay over and it was a perfect time to get out and do some tourist stuff. We ended up leaving the airport where we were able to store our luggage in an airport storage facility. Then we took the train to the city.

Ended up booking a boat cruise which I would pass on if I were to visit again. It was an okay ferry but it really didn’t excite any of us. The city however is pretty industrial and we found a lot to do in the market area. There was shopping some great local beers, good eats and you really felt some of the old history and charm of Frankfurt. It was exciting walking along the cobble stones and just feeling a taste of Europe. I would say if I wasn’t with a group though, it would have been pretty boring.

If you’re passing through it’s worth the stop. But not as a final destination.

Very calming place, you can go to the river and there are lots of parks to see. This places also has train station, it goes to lots of places in Germany. I had an 8 hour layover so I just walked around Bethmann Park. It’s very beautiful Chinese’s garden that has mini fountains.

Germany is known for the history. They are very big on maintaining the culture and authenticity of their cities, castles, and museums. It was very interesting to see how they maintained old buildings but yet added some technological advances to them. Overall, Germany is very beautiful especially for their fields, flowers, rolling hills.

Random thought: I’m surprised how so many people in Germany know English. I believe English is their 2nd native language. (Don’t quote me on this)

Germany is surprisingly very beautiful, the countryside is so eye catching, the rolling hills, fields and flowers. I don’t think I expected much from Germany but I was pleasantly surprised, the food was actually pretty good and the people were nice. It’s a place of history, so definitely check out the castles and museums. I went during Oktoberfest and it was a awesome experience, I don’t even drink beer lol but it was a site to see. If you can drive through the country I would recommend it, it’s extremely beautiful in a bucolic kind of way.

I went to Frankfurt a couple years ago when I was younger. I went with family and very muy enjoyed myself, although I’m fefi not a fan of the cold weather. I wouldn’t say traveling while black in Germany is bad, however there are some very racist parts of Germany. You have to be careful where you travel to, especially if you’re traveling alone. I actually had a kid grab me and stare at me in awe like he’d never seen a black person before. I wouldn’t say it was traumatizing, however it was definitely a clear sign that diversity was not a strong-suit while I was there. However, in the recent years it may have improved.

    Mid Germany Frankfurt Area

There is so much to see in the mid west Germany and there all within hours of each other you can visit these castles if you plan 3-4 day trip in Germany first you have Eltz Castle then you have Cochem Castle both two of the top castles on this side. Then you have idar oberstein very old village it’s said that gems and gold and diamonds started trade here before it became big in Africa. So it’s still a big gem village and also the main attraction the cathedral in mountain. Literally it’s built in the mountain and it’s super cool to see. While on that side might as well take a trip down to the Black Forest it’s not to far from eltz castle. There’s a village below eltz where you could grab some good local eats. Also Cochem has a pretty unique village located on the river front well worth going and having a coffee or tea. If you have time after all this you should bounce up to Cologne Germany and see the cathedrals there definitely all worth seeing

I recently visited Frankfurt. It has a special place in my heart, since I was born there. It is a small, but gorgeous, city with a rich history. I stayed in City Center, which is close to everything, including the red light district. To get around I used local taxi, when I needed, as they do not have uber. There are plenty of bars and museums to partake in. I visited the Museum of World Cultures. They currently have an exhibit on Africans who were enslaved in Brazil and also an exhibit on the Guarini resisters. They also have hop on and hop off buses to get a tour of the city–i suggest doing this if you want to learn more about the city. Also, their botanical garden is huge and a great place to relax.

We stayed in Frankfurt for 4 days and it proved to be a very modern European city. The Frankfurt airport is one of the nicest in the world (very well organized) and connected to the entire city. Known for being the financial capital of Germany, most of the city is modern high rises. There are still hints of older/traditional German architecture sprinkled around the city and of course lots of beer. If you like museums, this is a city for you. From architecture, to modern art, to cinema, there are museums for every walk of life (there is even a museum street parallel to the main canal that goes through Frankfurt am Main. The “local” german food was not our favorite but Frankfurt proved to be an epicenter for international food. There were restaurants from all over the world in the city so there was always too much to choose from (a good problem to have in my opinion if you are a foodie).
