Don’t Go To Hvar, Croatia. [just kidding. :) ]

There are plenty of things to do in Hvar, a historical and picturesque island along Croatia’s Dalmatian coastline. Hvar is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a vibrant island setting that’s both glamorous & relaxing. You can also find an array of towns and communities around the island that are easily reachable by ferry.

    Traveling While Black

Hvar, one of Croatia’s top party Island is just a short ferry ride from Split. It is a mixture of luxury and budget but mainly luxury. Croatia as a whole has become expensive recently with how popular it has become however it is still possible to travel on a budget. I would recommend going in June and September to keep costs down as much as possible, it is still very sunny just a bit more bearable than the temperatures in July and August.

for those on a tight budget or wanting to stretch out your money a bit more, I would advice staying in hostels. If you don’t mind sharing a room with other travellers then hostels are great not only to sleep but to also meet people who can then give you tips on cheapest places to go for food, drinks and nights out. I ended up saving so much more than I would if wasn’t for the help of the other travellers. Some hostels also offer discounts in certain places such boat parties, Island tours, quad bikes and some restaurants. You’re so spoilt for choice when it comes to activities to do.

In terms of being black in Croatia, I didn’t experience any sort of racism towards me when I was in Zagreb, Split or Hvar. The locals are very welcoming and friendly. my overall experience here a pleasant one.
