The street food in Jamaica is the ultimate best. When in Jamaica be sure to check out the roast yam, roast breadfruit, fry fish, and of course the world famous Jerk Chicken or pork…Tantalize your taste buds with pepper shrimp and cool it down with fresh coconut water…This experience will have you feeling relaxed. Take a dip in the water falls as you come up just in time to watch the ultimate sunset, with a rum punch that will give you that irie Jamaican feeling.

Jamaica has been a top tourist destination for a lifetime and once you visit, you’ll easily understand why. The vibes are unmatched and there is so much to do, eat and see. My favourite experiences in Jamaica have been jumping into the water at the blue hole, water rafting on the Martha Brae river and swimming in the ocean at Frenchman’s Cove.

I can never visit Jamaica without eating some pan-grilled jerk chicken and bread, steamed fish with okra and all of the mangoes I can manage, fresh off of the tree.

Jamaica has the kindest people, who always make the experience as comfortable as possible for you. There are also gorgeous resorts that make every visit memorable.

St. Elizabeth is rich with Black History as it played a huge role in the slave trade from the slave ships docking at the waft in Black River and Accompong town being filled with much more history and having a museum that teaches you about how they gained their independence

I tend to find that going to predominantly Black cities and countries makes me feel a lot more comfortable than going other places. I have only traveled to a few states and 2 counties outside of the U.S. Those countries being Jamaica and the Bahamas. These majority Black countries made me feel more at home than even being in the U.S., especially the places in the U.S. that are less diverse. Jamaica was full of culture and in many ways mirrored that of others within the Black diaspora which I enjoyed most. The values of the people is something I resonated with. It wasn’t just about the beautiful views, but the beautiful people that made my vacation so amazing. On the contrary, there seems to be a bit of pretension when going places that are historically white or just plane gentrified. I can attest to that even as a New Yorker that has traveled around the city and tristate area, lived in PA, went to college in D.C., and visited a few other cities. Cities like Miami that have a large immigrant population feels more welcoming than some other U.S. cities that lacks diversity. I can’t speak to how it is to travel to other predominantly white countries because I have never been, but I can say that those places are at the bottom of my bucket list because I know the micro-aggressions I am likely to face in those places. If I had to give a travel tip to my fellow black travelers, I would say to go where you know you will feel welcomed because it makes a great difference. You don’t want to go somewhere you will experience selective hospitality, especially not because of the color of your skin.

I was raised in the USA but I am originally from Jamaica. My family decided to return to Jamaica for a mini family reunion and we decided to stay in Port Antonio because it was an area of Jamaica that our family is not from so it gave us an opportunity to see a new side of Jamaica. A TIME WAS HAD!!! In addition to being more affordable than some of the popular and touristy parts of Jamaica, our accommodations were amazing, and we worked with the place to cook most of our meals for us. Pro tip: Definitely arrange the menu beforehand with your accommodations so that the family can enjoy their meals! Planning out the meals in advance really made for an enjoyable experience for us. Below is a list of our accommodations and also the activities we did. Highly recommend this hidden gem of an area to others. Not only did we feel safe traveling as a Black family but we were also able to enjoy a part of Jamaica that is a little bit off the beaten path.

Lovely Accommodations: All Nations Guesthouse (https://allnationsguesthouse.com/jamaica/)
Activities We Enjoyed: Horseback riding, Massages at Geejam Hotel, Frenchman’s Cove, Rafting on the Blue Lagoon, Boston Beach

My recent trip to Jamaica was amazing. We were greeted with drinks at the Riu Reggae in Montego, Bay. We arrived before check in time, but they quickly prepared us a room since we had a catamaran excursion scheduled. The Catamaran cruise was so much fun. The tour included open bar and snacks. Our first stop was snorkeling and then we were taken to Margaritaville to continue the party. We stayed for an hour at Margaritaville and then we were taken back to the pickup location. On the ride back we were able to admire the sunset. The next day we rafted down the Great River. This is definitely a must when visiting Jamaica. The tour includes a coconut beverage and a limestone massage. The massage left my skin feeling soft and smooth. It left my skin glowing. If you’re feeling adventurous they will do a full body massage for a tip. This tour was in Hanover. It wasn’t the one in Martha Bear. My last day I wondered the countryside of Negril. I had a private driver and he picked us up from Montego Bay. This day trip was nothing less than amazing. I was able to experience the true culture of Jamaica, from the people to the authentic food. I literally ate fresh lobster from the ocean while watching goats walk by me. I will forever remember this experience. After eating lunch with the natives, we were driven to Jam West where we had a few drinks. The prices were reasonable snd the drinks were strong. Afterwards, we ended our day at Ricks Cafe. We took a swim, danced and watch the beautiful sunset. We were driven back to Montego Bay around 6:30 because the curfew begins at 8. Everything is closed after 8, but some drivers knew where to take you to party, if you want to take that risk. I would definitely recommend adventuring away from your resort or hotel when staying in Jamaica. The people are friendly and I left feeling like family.

You’ve might’ve seen it more recently on social media pictures and wondered is it worth it? But if nobody else has said it, the S Hotel in Montego Bay Jamaica is EVERYTHING!! I was last minute with my planning so i didn’t book the hotel until the day of arrival on the plane. It was for my birthday trip and I had been being indecisive about what I wanted to do, and due to covid requirements, wasn’t sure if I’d get my test back in time. Jamaica does require a test within a 3 day period as of 3/10/21. So after staying 1 night in Orlando from Oakland, I got my results i the early morning and flew into Montego later that morning.

I had already been looking up places before arriving but didn’t want to book because of the nonrefundable payme, so I waited. I’m usually an airbnb person, but this place had me more than curious with it’s wonderful views! Upon arrival they give you a welcome drink, your choice between rum punch, water, or tea/coffee. I definitely went with the rum punch. Then to my surprise, they upgraded me into a better room at no cost, as well as through in a spa treatment. They also invoice included dinner breakfast, with options for american or Jamaican.
The rooms are beautiful with the open glass door 3way showers, 2 sinks, 2 couches, nicely decorated with a lovely bamboo bathtub. There’s an option to have a curtain between the bathroom and bedroom. The best part of the room the am amazing oceanfront, and pool view from the balcony.
The Hotel is newer and just constructed so beautiful with tons of photo opps everywhere including the lobby. They not only have a large regular pool along with the ppole bar, but they also have a terrific rooftop infinity like glass pool. As well as a rooftop bar and lounge area. They have swings and even a pool table there. Downstairs there are a few games as well.
When you get tired of the pools, and the beach, you can make your way downstairs to the Spa. The spa offers many services from the detox session, massages, sauna, and even hair and nailcare. With braids being an option for haircare, and very reasonably priced too for a resort. I did the detox healing pools which consisted of a cold pool, sauna, and then warm pool. I had it all to myself for an hour and felt relived after it was done.
You can watch the sunset from the rooftop which I definitely recommend or from the beach as they provide mats and towels free of charge.
The nightlife during covid could’ve offered more, but there is an 8pm curfew at the time. There was not much offered during the week at this time. Mostly hanging out by the pool beds and listening to music was what guess did at night. Dinner is until 10pm and they play live music, which their inhouse talent was really good, playing the piano and saxophone, as well as singing. On the weekend they have a live band and dinner is done buffet style, opposed to per table during the week. The staff were nice and sometimes a little slow with room service request. You can book excursions through the front desk or you can go to the beach and they have tour guides down there who sometimes offer better deals. The location is close to margaritaville, you could walk and that place has good vibes.
The food was good, I ate the fish most nights because I don’t eat meat. But they did serve it different each night. The breakfast was decent, and pretty standard with options of eggs to your choice, pancakes, French toast, hash browns and bacon bacon with fruit, if you go with the american style. The drinks were good and mostly $10, but there are stores right next door and you can buy your own bottles, which i recommend.
Overall I think this is one of the best hotels I stayed at and would definitely go back. I did venture out, but my first reason to travel was to rest and relax and this was the perfect place to unwind and get peace. I give it 5 stars for sure.

During my most recent stay, I stayed in Discovery Bay Jamaica. It’s not too far outside of Montego Bay but gives you more options for some nice vacation homes if you’re looking for something different than the typical resort. I usually only stay in resorts but since we had a larger group and due to Covid, we decided to stay in an Air BnB and the Air BnB was one that people dream of that included beach front views, an infinity pool, water activities, a private chef, a maid and waiters. From the lodging to the food to the overall hospitality, the experience was great from beginning to end! Here’s the link to the home rental -> https://www.vrbo.com/1936342

Everything Irie in Jamaica… from touchdown to takeoff vibes was nice. We got picked up at the airport and shuttled to Royalton White Sands Montego Bay where were greeted with drinks and escorted to the lounge while they checked us in as a part of the VIP service.

The beaches were beautiful, we snorkeled and partied on a catamaran while drinking red stripe and appleton (not together) and eating beef patties.

We hiked Dunn’s river which is a great activity to do.

The street food and resort food were amazing… I had both and the resort did not fail to deliver authentic Jamaican food.

We partied several nights back to back and got excited off the brownies we bought at the Bob Marley Musuem, i think, or someone near the musuem, don’t remember how but were good.

    I’m already planning “The Return”.

JAMAICA IS THE BEST PLACE EVERRR! The best food you’ll ever eat, the best parties you’ll ever attend, the best fling on an island with a stranger you’ll ever have, and the list goes on. You cannot fail by going to jamaica. It’s best to go in groups because it’s cheaper and staying at a resort is safer. Doing your research is key to get the best experience. I would not recommend going solo especially if you’re a woman. But Jamaica is just perfect. Montego Bay or Negril is the place to go for the relaxation and vacation vibes. Kingston has the best parties so I’ve heard. To get a feel of what your experience can be as a woman, if you want a little romance, watch Stella Gets Her Groove Back. It’s spot on. Jamaican men will make you feel like the sexiest woman alive. I’d be in Jamaica every month if I could. Insta – auntiesophsoph_

Jamaica is my absolute favorite place to vacation. I love nearly everything about it. There’s so much culture, the food is fantastic, the beaches are beautiful and the service is impeccable. There’s always something to indulge in. Whether you want to enjoy the Sunset at Ricks Cafe with the activity of Cliff Jumping, swim with the dolphins, enjoy a Jamaican beef patty from Juicy Patty, or simply walk the Seven Mile Beach, Jamaica provides a go to that you can not go wrong with. While Negril has more of a relaxing vibe, Montego Bay provides a nightlight that will be essential to vacation. Whether a girls trip or a baecation, Jamaica is amazing. I usually visit several times each year.

Jamaica Jamaica. You can never go wrong with a trip to that beautiful island. If you love parties Kingston is your go to place to vacation. From street dance to clubs like taboo on a Tuesday , triple century on a thursday, pulse on a friday, there’s also fridays at the devon and the list goes on. For food omg, if you like the finer things in life your best option is cellar8, the steakhouse on the veranda at devon house and also the blue window restaurant at the pegasus hotel. For a more laid back but good food check out chillin and be sure to try the oxtail at triple century. For beaches your best bet is ocho rios, negril or montego bay. Staying at an all inclusive resort in these areas is ideal however you want to go out and experience the Jamaican culture and people. Dunns river falls is a must see, ensure to go rafting too the place i used in ocho rios was called white river rafting. The jamaican dollar is weak so it can work in your favor it’s $130 to 1 usd. Jamaica is a little pricey overall though. Make sure you try the jerk chicken outside of a resort the very authentic one. The food in Jamaica overall is pretty good so win win. Have fun

Jamaica is definitely a vibe!!! I stayed in an all inclusive resort and it was dope!!! The resort was Riu Reggage and total I spent about 1200. With flight included! Montego Bay is beautiful with its lush colors vibrant flowers and the local people are extremely friendly! You can feel the love in Jamaica. No worries no problems is def a way of life there. Did a day trip to ocho Rios to dun river falls. You normally can purchase these excursions on the resort and they will have a bus waiting on you the next day. Expect to spend 50-80$ per excursion. I would def recommend that. Def a adventurous time.

I stayed at the Royalton Negril for a wedding and the resort is beautiful and well maintained. The staff very nice and professional. The food in Marche was delicious! Calypso was also very good. Always felt safe and well taken care of. The beach was beautiful…calm water and very little seaweed.

The stay was affordable, costing about 200-250 usd per night.

There’s so much to do in Jamaica! Because it’s tourism is so vast, participating in the activities is simple. In the Ocho Rios area, Dunn’s River Falls, Blue Hole and the Dolphin Cove are fun places to visit. Dunn’s River falls is the most popular so you should check it out, but if you’re heading through the falls with a guide, they quickly get you through the falls so it limits your chance to truly take it all in. The admission price is about $25. The Blue hole in Ochie is for the thrill seekers! The guides will take you to great areas to dive into the water and they help you capture the moments. The admission price is about $20. The Dolphin Cove is nearby Dunn’s River so if you are in the area it’s a great option to get your dose of swimming with Dolphins. The admission is about $70 including food.

All of the activites can be purchased as packages. The Blue Hole and Dunns river combo costs about $110 including hotel transfers and food.
Package option (Blue Hole & Dunns River) – this package can also be booked through Expedia.

For the Dolphin Cove, there are also package options on their site.

My sister and I traveled to Jamaica, Ocho Rios for a very special business convention to only find out we would have to make Jamaica an annual trip.

At the arrival of the *Moon Palace Resort* in Ocho Rios we felt right at home. From the genuine smiles and warm welcomes we knew the rest of the trip was going to be simply amazing!

I highly recommend the Moon Palace Resort and fact I honestly don’t think I can stay at another resort. The personal on the resort had proficient customer service, and was very attentive. The resort had some excursions inside which usually You would have to leave the resort to partake in; such as swimming with the dolphins and kayaking. Even though the resort was Childrens Friendly, they have their own separate area that caters to them specifically which includes water slides etc.

Swimming with the dolphins is one of the best excursions I did while in Jamaica. The night life was just as amazing as the day life, the culture really know how to party! The beach was amazingly clean and not crowded and which I love. The variety of food exceeded my expectations and was so delicious from breakfast to dinner.

I’m conclusion, My sister and I decided we will be visiting Jamaica once a year !!!

You want to go somewhere an fell 100% welcomed then this is the place to be. Whether you’re going to Negril, Montego Bay or Ocho Rios YOU WILL FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. We spent about five days here knocking out all of the tourist things as well as a few local recommend activities.

Of all the things we did, the getting lost in route to the Blue Hole was the highlight of our trip. A super nice lady helped us navigate our way to unpaved back roads that the GPS put us on (that’s for another post)

The most unique bar in Jamaica goes to none other then Floyd’s Pelican Bar. Located on the South Coast off of Treasure Beach, Floyd’s is set in the middle of the ocean on a sand bar. To get there, you must first drive to the beach by taxi, a resort tour, or private tour company. I went with group so we had a private tour guide (paradise travels) to drive us. Once we arrived we learned there was a $20 fee/per boat for the 10-15 minute ride to the bar. Stay camera ready as Pelican’s is heavily decorated with memorabilia from visitors over the years and the panoramic ocean views are absolutely incredible. To note, they only accept cash and there are no restrooms so plan accordingly.

Jamaica has been one of my favourite places to visit (so much so that I was already planning my trip back as soon as I got on the plane to leave lol). Jamaica is a very friendly place, as soon as we arrived everyone was very welcoming. We stayed at the Riu palace in Negril, the restore was amazing and we where well taken care of.
The real Gem of this place (Negril) has to be 7 Mile Beach!, 7 miles of beautiful beach, scenery, picturesque views and beautiful blue clear waters!, We took a walk long the beach, where you have some of the locals who sell amazing art, clothes, food and suvinoriers ?(a lot cheaper than some touristie shops and you’re helping out their business/family). The beach offers regular excursions I.e there is always sailing boats that go out everyday, jetskies and other water sports that can be arranged with the guides on the day.

Outside of the resort and I do recommend you get out. Rick’s Café is probably 10 mins from the hotel, the food is amazing (that goes without saying!,), but Rick’s Café is known for the famous Cliff jump/dive, where you are able to dive off a cliff after dinner( look up Rick’s Café) the dive looked like such an amazing experience (we didn’t get a chance to do it as we arrived late, the cliff dive closes around 6pm, but the restaurant will still be open).
The clubs in Negril as also recommended, they have a club called Jungle which is really good(Thursdays!!!!! Ladies night, ladies free all night.

We visited Jamaica for DreamWeekend(@dreamwknd), which if you don’t know about, is one of the BEST weekender/festival like experiences out in Jamaica (and one of my favourite, people travel from all over to attend, we met some amazing people from all over; states, Canada, uk and of course JA.)

Because of Dreamwknd we did not really have too much time to explore more places in Negril(although bare in mind, Negril is very Touristy and outside of Dreamweekend, not much happens here, so you won’t get much feel of the culture and real essence of Jamaica if that is what you are after, and once dreamweekend is over, people tend to travel to other places in Jamica, like Montego-bay, ochio Rios and Kingston).

We booked an excursion/tour with a company called Chukkatours(@chukkacaribbean), they are located in Montego-bay and facilitate excursions from ATV’s, snorkeling, Boat trips(catamarans) to horse riding in the sea/ beach. We did the Horse Ride along the beach and into the sea. It was such a good experience they picked us up from our hotel in Negril, about an hour drive into Monbay and dropped us back( we paid about £65 /70 which I think is like $80 and change). They took really goo care of us, the excursion is pretty short( I wish you had more time spent on the horses and in the water, but it was raining that morning and the group was a little large, so these factors could of effected the length of the excursion) overall I would recommend it! And booking with them.

Everyone in Jamaica like mentioned is welcoming, friendly, super chilled and lively, the food is amazing, the Rum is amazing the weed is readly available and pretty much thrown your way, the night life is really good, good music. You will have the best time, I know I did.

**Few Cautions, Do not!! (I would not advise) travel on those taxi motorcycles (you can rent your own little scooter peds) THEY DRIVE CRAZY out there! And have had serious accidents on those things☠. also be aware of your belongings there is a possibility you could get mugged/robbed,(bare in mind I was at a festival with very very large crowds so the risk was a lot higher, this is not to say it will happen on a daily basis or at all, we where in the environment for it).

I highly recommend you check out Jamaica, going back to Kingston I’ll let you know how it goes?

My trip in Jamaica was not what I thought it would be. To be honest my trip in Jamaica was not a favorite. I stayed at the sunscape resort in Montego Bay Jamaica and I wouldn’t recommend that place. The service was rude and the resort was not clean. I even seen a roach at the bar. Other than that Uber don’t exist in Jamaica and the taxi service was bad and expensive. The only thing I enjoyed was the jerk chicken at known restaurant called The Pork Pit. Maybe Probably if I had stayed at high end resort my experience would have been better. I rate Jamaica 2 out of 5

This is my 5th time in Jamaica and every time I come, the food just takes me away. I kid you not, every time I come back to Jamaica I gain a solid 3-5lbs just because the food is here is like no other. Besides the food, Jamaica is full of beauty from the flora and fauna to the people. I highly recommend you don’t feed the monkeys; they can be quite persistent.

Jamaica definitely reminds me of home, The Bahamas.

I traveled to Montego Bay Jamaica, for a few days to attend a convention.

During my free time, I’ve visited two main attractions; Dunn’s River Fall and Mystic Mountain Rain forest
    (Bob sled Jamaica).

Dunn’s River Fall requires you to purchase water shoes because of the climbing. The water was extremely COLD. The guides were very informative and knowledgeable about how to climb and they also assisted with picture taking. It is recommended not to use your phone while climbing but it beats purchasing the crappy quality video they recorded and sold for an arm and two legs.

Mystic Mountain Rain forest was very pretty. I definitely enjoyed the scenery of the sky explorer chairlift used to take you up to the bob sled. Truthfully it was frightening but I’m always up for the adventure. Upon reaching the top prepared for the thrilling ride through the rain forest. It was the best heart racing, suspense-filled ride of my life.

Please be sure to visit my Ig page @Dachea.elle for pics and snippets of my trip to Havana Cuba.

Stayed at the Moon Palace Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios. The Resort was lovely, and both the food and drinks were tasty. Booked a day trip to Negril and spent time at Margaritaville, and Rock’s Cafe. Negril was absolutely beautiful. Also, did horseback riding through the ocean, and that was booked through the resort as well. Payed a dollar cab to take us around, and it was great to explore outside of the resort. Local food was great. I’d definitely go back again.

Jamaica for me was like Wakanda. The weather was great all week and almost wherever you go a beach is near. There are tons of touristy things to do – horseback riding, ATVs, yacht tour that allow you to visit Dunns Falls for a good photo op, food tours-you name it. Anywhere you go, the food will be great – we randomly visited places close to our AirBNB and one that was planned and both were actually great. Before going to we heard things about the island not being safe, but we went out at night and always felt safe in the areas we went to (Montego Bay). For a quick getaway and good food, try Jamaica out.

Jamaica is a wonderful place! As soon as you get off the plane you are just ready to dance and have some good food! I stayed in Montego Bay at the Riu reggae hotel which was amazing! Jamaicans are really friendly and always have a smile on their faces – you will definitely feel at home. All my trips and excursions were booked through the hotel. I paid for most things in Jamaican dollars not US dollars as I found it was cheaper when paying in Jamaican dollars (I am from the UK- it may be different if you are from another country).
The activities that I did included:

    – pelican bar: it is literally a bar in the middle of the ocean ! How cool is that !!!!!!! You get there via speed boat and it’s a picture perfect bar made out of bamboo. You can have drinks, food and have a swim in the crystal blue warm sea.

    – Dunn river falls: like climbing ? Like waterfalls? This will be the perfect excursion for you! Make sure you buy water shoes beforehand as the rocks may be slippery. You get a personal guide who will help you climb up the waterfall it takes approximately 30 minutes to climb to the top but once you get there it’s an amazing feeling!

    – Negril 7 mile beach: yes this beach has 7 miles of white sand! It is picturesque and amazing. I ate at a local restaurant on the beach who served us rum punch and jerk chicken and lobster ? I definitely recommend drinking fresh coconut water from a real coconut !!!!

    – Ricks cafe – if you like diving and cliff jumping this is the perfect place for you! I never jumped myself because I’m a chicken but I watched other people and it was so much fun! The bar has two floors and is situated on a cliff top. You can drink your red stripe and watch the sunset whilst listening to reggae.

    – nightlife is buzzing !! I would recommend going to margaritaville it is full of Jamaican locals and also tourists everyone mixes together and has a nice time ?? Drinks are cheap and music is banging !

    Enjoy !

I went to Jamaica for 4 days and ended up staying for 3.5 months! Lol it was honestly one of the best trips of my life! While the culture can be much at times (it’s the Caribbean! Men like to catcall, you just have to ignore) the adventure aspect of it was AMAZING! From the blue hole to Treasure beach to butchering an entire goat to all the hidden mineral streams and rivers we found. You can find absolutely anything in Jamaica. They even have caves! It was 13 chambers and you even got to swim from one chamber to another. If you want to cliff dive, fish with a water bottle and line, swim in the clear blue ocean, kayak, river raft, zip line, have a push cart ride, swim under waterfalls, climb through rock tunnels to get to hidden waterfalls JAMAICA HAS IT ALL!!!

If you want an amazing experience I travelled with Island Tours Jamaica here’s a link to their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/islandtoursjamaica/

Travelling down the Martha Brae, something fell on me.

It wasn’t a fruit, or a nut. It was a feeling.
    I felt at home.

This isn’t something I feel often or permanently, but as anyone without a homeland knows, it’s hard to feel that anytime.

I’m part of the diaspora’s diaspora. I don’t know much of my history further than 3 generations back, and I don’t know where I’m truly “from”. Sometimes I feel like a bit of a long term house guest, overstaying their welcome in countries that are not their own, but having nowhere else to go. I’m just couch surfing between the countries and continents that I don’t fully fit into.

But this time, while I was rafting down the river, I felt connected. Not to the community so much as the earth. I got to know the land that the indigenous Taíno and the escaped Africans moved along with grace and assurance.

On this river, I allowed myself to be a child of the world. I didn’t have to be anything but me, I could just exist. No explanation needed.

I’d definitely recommend going rafting in Martha Brae, it’s pretty easy to find if you search it in Google. FYI there are local and tourist rates which are different, so make sure you call ahead and verify the price!

I went to Jamaica for Carnival this year and absolutely loved it! Youtube(The Queen Experience Bob marley museum) it was in Kingston and ppl was acting like its just terrible, be safe, but I had an amazing time and felt safe! The private island from the port was so much fun and the water was just right. Hillshire Beach ocean side restaurants was everything especially Celine’s that Jerk Lobster and festval bread , num num! I also did the Bob Marley museum tour and learned alot, It was pretty informative and I love how they kept his house pretty much they way he left it. Jamaica Bay was intresting as well! It definitely a place to visit. Oh the parties! C R A Z Y!! Nothing but whining all night!

I went in Jamaica for a day with MSC seaside ( a cruise) and it was the best island I went to in this trip. I spent 8 days and 7 nights and went to Cayman islands, Bahamas, Mexico and of course Jamaica.
I would have prefer to go there without the cruise because, I didn’t have enough time there, we didn’t have time to visit different places but being with the cruise I feel like I was more safe.
People are nice, I was a little bit scared because of what I have heard but I really enjoyed my day.
I went to 《 Cool blue hole a waterfall and it was amazing (the water is really blue)
I think that it will be a better experience if you go by yourself but be careful, don’t trust everyone mostly the taxi driver make sure to search on internet or with your hotel before coming.

Jamaica is where my family is from so i visit there on many different occasions and stayed in different parts. From montego bay, Kingston, negril, and Ocho Rios. They all are unique in there own. When in Kingston i went for carnival. they have parties every night in Jamaica you have to party with the locals to really get a feel of their culture. The food is A1 so fresh and flavorful. I went to hellshire beach which is in portmore and is beautiful. When i stayed in negril i did the duns river tour which was very touristy. Jamaica is not short of things to do. The bobsled park is fun, they also have ricks cafe where you can cliff dive or just watch the views. The people are nice but they can sniff out if you not from there and will try to over price anything that they sell to you.

Jamaica has tons to offer for the fun loving vacationer.
Let’s talk about the Jamaica party scene tho.
Hands down Jamaica has the best parties I’ve ever been to.

Holiday seasons are the best times to visit Jamaica to attend parties.
Summer has a series of parties called – Dream Weekend in Negril.
Igloo is another popular party which is typically help on the beach in Ocho Rios – you bring your igloo of drinks and party the day away while being your own.best bartender.

My favorite set of parties are French Men and elite set of parties that happens throughout the year. Premium bars, premium food and premium entertainment.

Again I endorse JAMAICA as the best party location in the world!!

I stayed in Montego Bay, Jamaica in May 2019 and the experience was a good one however, I didn’t love my trip honestly speaking. So let’s start with the good… the food is good (pretty much what you expect if you like Caribbean cuisine). So many excursions and things to do, both the on and off resort beaches are beautiful and the locals are not shy about helping you experience their CULTURE to the fullest:) Now on to the negative.. Montego Bay is pretty far from Negril and Ochos Rios which have the excursions and water activity’s. Montego Bay is more city style which you will need to book transportation to these places which may be costly due to distance. The weather can be a hit or miss, lots of rain during my trip with one day being completely rained out. But overall I have a great time, lots a things to see, do she eat. Will definitely go back one day.

I went to Montego Bay Jamaica in October of 2018. I rarely left the resort. I did book an excursion for 1 day but it was cancelled due to rain. It was an all inclusive resort. The food was good and they had a stand called the Hut that was on beach. The Hut had the original Jamaican spices not that tourist crap. And it was no additional charge. There were free pour bottles of liquor in your room and everything at the resort was included. I got some marajuana from my taxi driver on the war to the resort. He gave me a big sack for $5. The other guest would just give you weed because it was in abundance. I don’t think I spent over $200 the whole week I was there. I went to a club called Pier 1 which was fun. That was $10 to get in. They ended up closing the club down early because of an altercation that took place outside. It was definitely one of my wildest vacations. It was like spring break for adults. But make sure you put all your valuables in the safe. I left a watch on the dresser and it was stolen. My trip to Jamaica was $900 for 4 nights all inclusive at the Riu Reggae. It was a last minute trip and not planned at all. I actually met up with people that I met while on a previous trip.

Jamaica, Jamaica! My first time in Jamaica was March 2019 and now all I want to do is go back lol. I landed in Montego Bay and stayed at an all inclusive resort. There was so much to do at the resort but I adventured out most of the time. I got the number of the driver that dropped me off from the airport to my resort and he was my driver for the duration of my trip. I explored a little bit of Montego Bay but I ventured out on road trips to Negril where I went to the beach and Ricks Cafe. I also went to St. Anns where I visited Bob Marleys Museum, the blue hole, went on a river ride on Bamboos. I was not able to do a lot of things but I did a lot of things. I feel like Jamaica is quite expensive( maybe because they accept USD). But it was an amazing trip, I felt like I was home, the people are sooo loving, so happy and very nice. I will go back even if it is for the amazing beef patties. Follow me on ig: @girlandaplane to see some cool pics :)

Carnival is more than just a parade, it’s an EXPERIENCE! And if you’re like my homegirl and I you’ve seen the IG posts of Carnival years past and internally wished you’d go. Well we decided 2019 was our time! But Carnival is more complex than the average pack-up-n-go moment, so before you make moves; here’s what I think you should know:

COSTUMES!: the sparkly bikinis, vibrant colors, and feathery outlines are lowkey an excursion of their own. After doing some IG research we decided we loved the xaymaca international designs from 2018 and registered on their band page to see what they had in store for 2019 (@xaymacainternational on IG). The release dates hit in late November. We thought we had our usual time to browse. BRUH. Don’t! This is not amazon! Those costume lines sell out like Michelle Obama tours and if you don’t move fast the one you set your eyes on will be GONE! Terms that will help: Frontline- the Beyonce section of the costumes. Very lavish and gorgeous. Be ready to stand OUT!
Backline- kinda like the background dancers for the Beyonce section haha. Less dramatic but still a good look. The backline options usually offer a lil more coverage but are sold with the frontline backpacks if you move fast!
Backpack- those feathery, goddess like attachments to the costume. They’re actually constructed like mini backpacks that you can put on or slip off. Occasionally they have a lil weight, and if you’re on the Beyonce line folks are going to have to navigate around you or get poked. Lol. Interesting note, we were able to bring our backline backpacks home with us in the adorable costume box we received. PERFECT for traveling home on the plane. All the feathers tucked in neatly and the box is durable. If you’ve shopped House of CB, it’s those with a strap. Dope right? I saw girls in the airport with their frontline backpacks in hand. No clue how or if they got them home ?

Glam: Carnival is sooooo much better if you get glammed up! We wanted to get our faces beat and stalked mua’s in Jamaica from IG. And a photographer! But the photographer told us about glamhubjamaica which is basically a giant glam studio with hair and makeup artists and stage hands to help you get dressed! Getting into the costumes is not nearly as easy as slipping on a bikini, as it turns out. So help was a major key alert. I styled my own hair but got a custom beatface by a local artist to match my costume! The experience costed $120 but came with the full beat, breakfast, unlimited mimosas, costume assistance, and giftbags with tons of beauty goodies from black brands. HEAVEN!

Pon di Road: after you’re dressed and ready to hit the Road, brace yourself for an amazzzzzzing time. HYDRATE! Which is easy to do because all the floats that travel with your band down the Road are loaded with beverages and bars. For. The. Free! Xaymaca Int’l provides you with a travel cup (hello logo marketing, nice to see you again ?) that’s perfect for getting all the rum punch your heart desires! Get water bottles too though lol. On the road you’ll hear amazing music, dance like you’ve been wine’ing your whole life, the energy is unparalleled! We literally kept bumping into reality tv celebs like Alexis Skye and Spice, no camera crews. Just dancing and parading di road like the rest of us!

Capture it!: be sure to take photos and vids! I promise the energy is so high it makes your pics come out even better! And when you’re home you’ll be able to delight in that experience and carry it with you until you meet the Road again! ???

Jamaica is absolutely beautiful, rich in culture and adventure. Visiting White River in Ochos Rio is a must! My friends and I toured the scenic river route on a hand made bamboo raft. Our guides were very friendly. It’s a breathtaking experience. We also did ATV riding as well with Dirt Adventures and it’s not for the faint for heart but a go too for anyone seeking that adrenaline rush!

Come for the patties, stay for the scenery!

I’ve visited Negril, Jamaica twice and it feels like home every time. I stayed both times at the Samsara Resort overlooking the famous Negril cliffs. This resort, while not beach front, does have access to the sea. It also offers a free shuttle to it’s sister property that is beachfront, Legends. Fly into to Montego Bay and take the drive into Negril. Passing through all the towns during the 1+ hour ride is truly a treat in itself. Once you arrive at Samsara head directly to the restaurant. It was never crowded and the staff was super friendly (try the festival dumplings- thank me later).

Best driver on the island is Omar. Ask him to take you downtown to the beef patty spot. You’ll get enough to keep you full for the day for less than $10. I LOVE Negril and would definitely go back. Perfect for a baecation (with somebody’s son) OR with the fam and children.

Montego Bay made me never want to go home. It was beautiful. While in MoBay we stayed at the all inclusive Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa. Also, to party we slid down the road to the “adult” all inclusive Riu Reggae and paid $75 each for a 24 hour pass. Three Palms Restaurant is the “more formal” of the restaurants with a dress code and hard to get reservations. I honestly preferred the food at Mangoes. Did i mention the Jamaican patties…wait for it!! ❤️I’m surprised I didn’t turn into a pattie!! Also, the Sunrise Beach Jerk Hut!! The BEST jerk chicken I’ve ever tasted. And the unlimited Bob Marley’s at the resort made for a truly happy girl in me! For relaxation, romance, beautiful weather and warm water…MoBay is the place to go.

When I went to Jamaica with my girlfriend we stayed at the Riu Palace Montego Bay. They have 3 properties all next to each other which are Riu Reggae, and Riu Montegeo Bay. But when you book a stay at the palace location you have access to its neighboring Riu properties and any ammentities they offer. The location was great because staying in Montego Bay its kind of in the middle so if you wanna visit Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios it’s approximately an hour or an hour and a half in one direction but if you want to visit Ricks Cafe in Negril it’s the same time in the other direction. The Margaritavilles in Montego Bay and Negril are a great time with good music and great drinks!

Ive been to Jamaica twice. My most recent time was with my family. Each time was amazing. The most recent time we stayed the Lucury Bahía Príncipe. This all inclusive resort was very affordable and had a nice beach attached to it. As a family we went horseback riding in the water and rhode ATV’s we also jumped off a cliff into the ocean! I would recommend experiencing Dunn’s River Falls when visiting!

    I definitely would recommend Jamaica!

My trip to Jamaica was a great experience. I stayed at an resort with my family called Grand Bahia Principe located in Ocho Rios. It was fun being able relax and spend time with my family. The food, music, and the vibes were just different. The nightlife of Jamaica is exquisite, there are many bars and restaurants around local areas. Jamaica is also kid friendly, there are many outdoor activities for kids to enjoy, such as Dunn River Falls, Turtle River Park, and Dolphin Cove. Overall my experience in Jamaica was amazing. I would definitely think about going back, and I encourage anyone that is interested or want a good getaway Jamaica is the place for you and your family and friends.

If you’re heading to Jamaica, don’t stick to the resort life. Book some airbnbs around the island and experience all the activities the island has to offer. We have various blue holes, appleton rum factory tour, black river safari, YS Falls, the blue lagoon, negril beaches, chukka cove tours, dunns river falls, blue mountain hikes, the bob marley museum and SO much more. Most of these activities can be booked online once you do a quick google search for what you’re interested in. Airbnbs across the island are great, just like anywhere else just check out the reviews.

There is a lot more to the island than a resort can offer including the various foods & cultural/historical sites. Make sure to try Jamaican KFC !

Car rental is your best bet as you tour the island as the taxi/bus system won’t get you to the various activities most effectively. While you drive through the country make sure to stop at some of the stalls on the side of the road and grab a coconut or some fresh fruit from a vendor, it doesn’t get better!

Another must attend “Event” in Jamaica is Carnival! It entails a week of partying and lead up to the ultimate Carnival Sunday road march where revellers are dressed in costumes & feathers. Of course if you don’t want to wear the costume and feathers you can purchase a t-shirt section to be part of the festivities. There are 3 active carnival bands in Jamaica, Bacchanal Jamaica, Xodus Carnival & Xaymaca International. For costumes you can pay anywhere from $300 – $800USD depending on how extravagant it while for T-Shirt sections you will pay around $350USD. This price covers costume, food & premium drinks throughout the day. Costumes launch in Jamaica in November when most bands require a deposit of around $150USD to secure your costume and payments can be made in instalments in the following months based on guidelines which are band determined.

Booking accommodation for carnival must be done WELL in advance as hotels and airbnbs book out quickly for this time of year so to avoid paying extremely high prices, early booking is recommended.

Also be sure to purchase party tickets early once you book flights & accommodation so that you get “early bird” pricing as ticket costs in recent years have sky rocketed because of the tremendous growth of Carnival in Jamaica.

I play mas with Xodus Carnival and I haven’t had any issues with them. My costume collection was seamless (because I collected on the day my costume was ready rather than waiting until the last day of collection like most) and my road experience is always great. The only thing that I noticed ran out was some chasers but there were many other options (and that may only have been at the drink truck I chose to stick close to). I also love that they have a truck dedicated to dancehall music which pays homage to the fact that it is Jamaican carnival and is a great blend of the soca & dancehall cultures!

Xodus Carnival costumes are great quality, no issues here, and worth the money. The food and drinks are premium and you want for nothing during the whole day. I will say that this year the band was a little too big for my liking so i felt a little crowded but the organisers have already acknowledged this and announced they will cap the size of the band for next year at a lower number so i’m happy to hear that (we stan great organisers who listen to their customers!). All in all Jamaica carnival is a great experience and I whole heartedly recommend everyone come try it out!

I visited Negril for my birthday in December of 2018. It was a quick 3 day trip and mainly wanted to just relax and unwind.
If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere to hang out and have some drinks, I recommend Margaritaville (for daytime) and Rick’s Cafe (late afternoon to night time).
Margaritaville is on Seven Mile Beach (gorgeous). They have a restaurant with full menu, lounge chairs out on the beach and a DJ. It’s a great place to get lunch, drink, hang out and you can take a walk down the beach if you want some quiet time.
Rick’s Cafe is where you can do cliff jumping along with dozens of other people to cheer you on. It has bar food, drinks and a full restaurant upstairs. Was a bit pricey but I liked the atmosphere. Get there in time to watch the gorgeous sunset – a sight not to be missed.

I visited Jamaica alone this past February and I was told not to do so because Jamaica is not safe to go alone. I have traveled alone several times and I don’t let anyone’s opinion to stop me from traveling alone. I made sure to book things to do before I left for my trip. There is so much to do in Jamaica and a lot of fun activities and even if you do not book anything there is the beach and the nightclubs. Here some of the things that I did.
Little Dunn’s River Falls- free entry is in Ocho Rios and is less packed than the other waterfalls
Bob Marley Museum- is far but it also depends where you are coming from is 2 or so from Montego Bay, if booked online on tour sites it cost $90 and above
Luminous Lagoon- is in Farmouth about 30 mn from Montego Bay anything booked tour online will cost over $40
Martha Brae Rafting- is also located about 30 mn from Montego Bay a tour booked online will cots approximately $60 and above

Please keep in mind that most tour booked online does include hotel pickup and drop off

    – I booked the rafting tour on @Airbnb for approximately $65 for one person for an hour. It can also be booked via @aviator and @TripAdvisor if you are a party of 2
    – Chukka Caribbean Adventures is the company that honored the tour and they offered transportation
    – the rafting was at Martha Brae River a gorgeous river located at Falmouth about 30mn from Montego Bay. (there are other rivers that offer rafting tours as well as tubing)

Jamaica is one of my favourite places to visit. There’s so much to do around the island, along with great food, great people, great weather, it’s got everything! My mum and I hired a car from Montego Bay airport as used it travel around for 10 days. Doctor’s Cave beach is a beautiful must-see in Montego Bay, as is Frenchman’s Cove and the Blue Lagoon in Portland. Treasure beach is perfect for getting away from the busy tourist areas and seeing the authentic, peaceful Jamaica.

Jamaica is a vibe, there’s no other island like it! I had a stop in Negril on one of my cruises and I hate I was only there for a few hours. The beach was absolutely stunning, the people there are so nice, and the food tastes like seasoned heaven lol. I’m going back as soon as I can, relaxing on the beach with a good drink and the smell of grilled jerk chicken in the air.

Jamaicans LOVE black Americans. I literally felt like a celebrity or royalty when I was there. I stayed at Jamaica Sunset Grande Montega Bay and had a blast. The food was incredible and the service was magnificent. The hotel staff, the natives, restaurant, and business owners always made sure I was taken care of.

    Ahh Jamaica Mon!
Jamaica is definitely one for the culture. Jamaica is definitely a place for our people to come together, get together laugh, enjoy each other and be alright. For me it wasn’t so much the views of Jamaica which were breathtaking and absolutely beautiful but the real beauty of Jamaica is the people! I stayed at the beautiful grand Bahia Principe in runaway Jamaica (https://www.bahia-principe.com/en/resorts-in-jamaica/resort-jamaica/) I had so much fun with the locals they were amazing! Not only was the resort amazing but going out into the town was definitely Eye opening with so much culture to learn and food to tast I couldn’t get enough. The best food I had on the island was the Jamaican man who floats as close to shore as he can with his self made wooden float with his grill attached serving up fresh caught grilled conch and crab and shrimp whatever he catches fresh that day with an amazing jamican rub ob top. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m_F1QPFetDc
    YouTube link above! Find him!
Jamaica is my new second home and I am thankful for the Culture.

The best bartenders are at the swim out main pool, If you to party then this is the hotel for you they party until 4 am. Yes this is a family hotel,The food and drinks were good……..I booked all my adventure with CHUKKA because it’s a Jamaican own business…….Locals place to eat will be KFC and JUICI PATTIES. Local party place PEIR 1 and Margaritaville……Traveling while black
I had a great experience traveling while black because it’s a Black Country that embrace their blackness and welcomed me with open arms.

Jamaica has some of the best food! I visited Ocho Rios and enjoyed everything I ate. The jerk chicken in amazing and affordable. My favorite restaurants were Ms T’s, and Boom shaka laka (it’s amazing).I love fresh fruit, and it’s gets no fresher than the fruit here. All of the meals were very affordable, and you get a lot of food per person.

I went to Montego Bay for Easter of 2017, right at the peak of the carnival season. JA never disappoints! I stayed at Secrets St. James; it is a true representation of a 5 star all inclusive. Great food, great entertainment staff & overall just a great vibe. We checked out a few neighbouring tourist attractions and even went to an all day beach jouvert:)

Although the resort is known to attract couples, I went with a good friend of mine & we didn’t feel a way at all. Everyone was really friendly & inviting. I definitely have this specific resort in mind for my 2019 itinerary!

I love Jamaica because it has all the essentials to make you happy ,chicken, weed and dancing. lol (just kidding) but definitely try the kfc out there believe it or not it’s the best chicken you will taste,we used a tour company called highlife tours and I’ll leave it at that lol ?,Ricks cafe is always the move of course if you want to party a little. Even with me being 6’4 and slightly intimidating I didn’t go anywhere by myself. Jamaica is beautiful but be careful, the people you’re visiting don’t consider it paradise… stay woke

I have been to Jamaica 4 times this year and it is safe to say that I have not yet run out of things to do there. Whether you want to relax on the beach or experience a thrilling, adrenaline rush, Jamaica is the place to be. During my last visit, I did the following activities (all of which I would recommend with 5 stars):

    – Climbing Dunn’s River Falls
    – Mystic Mountains Tour (Bobsled Race, Zip-lining & Sky Lift)
    – A Scenic Drive Through Fern Gully
    – A Relaxing Beach Day at Doctor’s Cave Beach

Having friends from Jamaica made my trip a lot easier. During this visit, I had a dear friend play “tour guide”. We would stop at random coconut stalls on the side of the road or eat at well-known seafood restaurants on the island such as Sharkies. As the island is relatively small, it is easy to take day trips to other parts. Along the drive, you’ll see plenty of things to do or random stops that seem intriguing. Even if you don’t have a planned itinerary for your trip prior to arrival, it is easy to find memorable things to do.

Jamaica Jamaica! I love going back home especially to St. Ann. there’s so much to do.

    Top things to do:
Climb Dunn’s river falls (eat at Too Cool’s Restaurant)
    Blue Hole
    Catamaran ride with snorkel
    Rafting on White River
Fire Water in St. Anns Bay
Day drinking at Margaritaville (when a cruise ship is present)
    Any Chukka Cove activities

    Other activities:
    Dolphin Cove
Mystic Mountain (bobsled ride, zip line)
    Nine Mile tour
    Green Grotto Caves

All can be closely accessed when in St. Ann (Ocho Rios), hence why it’s my favourite parish to visit. There’s always something to discover there.

Portland is a must when visiting Jamaica, The parish was about 2-3 hours outside of the capital Kingston (depending on how fast one drives). Google Maps was a great help in finding our resort (Great Huts) but if you don’t have access to Google Maps the road leading to it is right along side Jamaica’s famous ‘Boston Jerk Center’.
If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time while in Portland Great Huts is the place to go. Great Huts is a natural, eco-friendly resort with a jungle theme landscape, located off a cliff that overlooked the Eastern Caribbean. African Sunrise, was the Hut that we chose (Yes I said hut) and it had the most beautiful view of a small infinity pool that over looked one of the many cliffs over looking the Caribbean sea. This hut was perfect for a young couple (which we were) as it allowed us to have the privacy and amenities we needed. There was no TV in the room as they encouraged outdoor activities but there is wifi at each hut so I suggest walking with a laptop if you’d like to watch a movie. Everything is in the open once you’re inside of the hut so if your parent has an issue with using the bathroom without the privacy of a door (like mine) you may run into a bit of an issue. The Hut however had three floors so one can simply climb down the ladder (yes I said ladder and not stairs) to allow their partner some privacy.

The resort had an ‘all-price-range accommodations’ which makes it easy for everyone to stay from single travelers, couples and even family’s who want to enjoy the beauty and natural wonders of Jamaica. They accept both USD and JMD and have a restaurant on property (although I do not recommend eating there as the food was not that great). Great Huts was a great and beautiful resort which was centrally located and I will definitely be back again.

Jamaica mon! I visited Kingston and Ocho Rios and I wasn’t disappointed! The food is delicious and my favorites were the Jamaican patties with coco bread and rice and peas with oxtail! Kingston was nice to mainly mingle with the locals and I got to meet Jamaican recording artist Sizzla. A few days later we went to Ocho Rios where we enjoyed Dunn’s River, mystic mountain, and the nightlife. It was definitely enjoyable and I hope to go back soon.

Jamaica, Jamaica…oh how I LOVE Jamaica!! I stayed in Ocho Rios, which wasnt a bad choice, seeing how I mainly wanted to relax on the beach all day. The resort was amazing (Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort & Spa, Ocho Rios, Curio Collection by Hilton). All Adult All Inclusive! The locals treated my boyfriend and I as if we were “their brothers and sisters” That’s what they kept saying! The food was fantastic, the locals were friendly, and plently of excurisons to partake in. The Jamaica vibe was on point! Also, it took 2 hrs to get to Ocho Rios, so I recommend staying in Montego, if you plan on visiting some of the local shops and getting that nighlife vibe. Jewels Dunn River Fall and Bobsleding were really nice excursions…..oh yeah and for the smokers, the minute you step foot out of that airport, MBJ, somebody will make it know that they have ganja. I got a little from my shuttle bus driver, and some from a hotel worker as well. It’s everywhere! Well…that was my honest review. I will most definitely go back!

So many things to do, for example I went to Dunn’s river falls which is absolutely amazing, it was around $40 per person for an all day pass, at the venue you have shopping center, great food and alcohol, a private beach with a beautiful view, and let’s not forget about the waterfall itself, when you first look at it, it might seem a little intimidating to climb but it’s definitely worth it. You also have the blue hole and other activities that’s all the hotels provide transportation to and from. The name of the hotel I stayed in was called Bahia Princepe, I also had a great experience there.

This is a great weekend getaway. Me and my husband stayed at secret wild orchid in Montego Bay . I would definitely suggest getting a rental car . All of the main attractions are in Ocho Rios and negirl both about 2 hr hours . A taxi or personal driver will be about $150 or more . We did Dunn’s river falls . I think you would have to be in of in shape for dinner rivers only because you are climbing rocks for an hour or more .

Great resort, awesome service, great Jamaican rum and red stripe beer. The locals treat you with so much love and are very hospitable. The jerk chicken is a MUST! Just be careful wandering out in the town Jamaica can be very dangerous these days. I definitely recommend this place

Jamaica, Jamaica! Oh how I loved Jamaica. I stayed on the island Ochoa Rios on a all inclusive Sandals resort. The resort was a little pricey but the experience and accommodations were well worth it. I’ve had some of the best food in Jamaica which was full of flavor and spices. The water sports included at this resort were nothing short of amazing, from the glass bottom boat to the water cycle, and more. It is definitely a picturesque island with a beautiful culture.

My sister an I won a free trip to Montego Bay for 5 nights. We rented a car. They drive on the opposite side of the road. The first night, we went to Glistening Waters. There is bioluminescent water that turns blue when you move. You are able to stand in the water. The bottom does feel gross, like mud and jelly. Be sure to express to the photographer that you would like good photos. He took goid photos for someone’s birthday, but our photos didn’t come out well. The next day, I drove to Dunns River falls. Climbing the falls wasn’t difficult. You will be able to get good photos on your own. There are vendors at the exit. My sister drove to the Blue Lagoon. I was terrified of driving on small laned roads in the mountains. We got lost wigh the GPS, locals were nice to help us find the way. Once there, you pay for a guided tour of the area. There is an option for a tarzan swing, waterfall jumping, and a mud bath. The next day, we went rafting on the Martha Brae river. The guide let us had a chance of driving the raft. The views were beautiful and we had a chance for a mini photoshoot. People sell things along the river, so be sure to bring cash. The jerk pork and festival at Scotchies was good. If you walk across the highway, there is a beautiful area on the beach to eat the food. The views and food at Pier 1 was good as well. Jamaicans took us to a local restaurant to try a stew conch with okra and carrots, it was my favorite meal. If you walk along the hip strip at night, there are people grilling and selling local food. I also went to a jamaican party and had a good time. I drove through the wealthy and poor parts of town.

What can I say about Jamaica? I love it. I have visited several times, and each time is better than the last. I usually stay in Runaway Bay because it is not as congested and it is close to family. Everyone in this country is so friendly. I have done just about everything. I would highly recommend Dunns River Falls out of everything I have done. It is a neat/fun experience. Whenever I visit my family, we would just walk around picking fruit off the trees and walking around from house to house chatting with everyone. I absolutely loved it. American dollars go a long way in this country if you get off the resorts. You could even get a cheaper deal purchasing excursions outside of the resorts. Jamaica, in general, is a great destination for first time travelers. I think you would get your money’s worth and more

My bestie and I went to Jamaica in July of 2016. This was our first trip abroad and we absolutely loved it. I typically don’t double back to countries once I visit them but I have since gone back to Jamaica and will continue to keep going back when I can. The people are amazing, the tours and excursions are amazing, and lets not forget about the amazing food!

I stayed in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and the trip was just wonderful. Like other said, Scotchies jerk chicken was bussin. Did a group trip to Dunn’s River Falls and the experience was great, but was crowded. There was a flea market right down the street from our hotel that sold some cheap souvenirs. Went to a club, can’t remember the name, but that was the real reggae and dancehall. Weed is legal, so smoke away, and Shades strip club is a sight to see, I’ll just leave it at that. Also, we did the swimming with the dolphins, as well as Margaritaville Ocho Rios. Going back so I can do the ATVs & visit the Bob Marley mausoleum & grounds at Nine Mile.

I stayed in Montego Bay, Jamaica and there is just one place where you most absolutely go for jerk chicken and that is Scotchies. This places had the BEST jerk chicken I’ve tried in my life!!! We also went to Blue Hole. The staff here were so friendly and helped us all the way up the waterfall. Once you get to the top you’re able to jump several times, it was a great experience. We chose this place because it is less crowded than Dunn’s River Falls and offers the same experience. If you are looking to stay away from a huge crowd of tourists then this is the place to go!

Jamaica is a place that never gets old. Just when you think you’ve done all there is to experience, you find out that you were wrong. I spent three months in Mobay as a researcher. The city is known for its love for billiards, so there are tons of spots for just that. Hip Strip has all the souvenir shops and tourist bars like Margaritaville. Jamaica has so much more to offer that I encourage venturing out. My top most peaceful experiences in life was horseback riding on the ocean side in Falmouth. Ocho Rios also has many activities from ziplining, swimming with dolphins, bobsledding, waterfalls of Dunn’s River, and so much more.

I went to Jamaica for a wedding. We landed in Montego Bay and then drove to Ocho Rios. The drive from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios was a little too much for me but the scenery was beautiful! We stayed at the RIU hotel and the service there was great! The drinks at the bar were good! The food was okay…nothing too special. However, in the afternoon they had this Jerk Chicken hut near the beach and the jerk chicken was amazing! We got the opportunity to schedule an excursion with a company who was in the hotel. They took us snorkeling then to Dunns River. This excursion was very fun! If you are traveling with a group of people you definitely need to do this!

I went to Montego Bay for five days and four nights. I paid $700 per person during Labor Day weekend for Mocha Fest. Mocha Fest is an Adults only event for everyone and anyone to let loose. We had a blast; we stayed at the Riu all inclusive resort. The food was amazing, they have natives that bbq jerk chicken fresh everyday on the beaches. The hotel was nice and clean with friendly staff that met you at the door with drinks. The spa was fantastic, I had a full body massage for 45 min and facial for $120. Some water sports are included with your stay at the resort but we stayed with the festival crew majority of the trip. Google Mocha fest and you will see more detail! The natives are very friendly and made us feel a part of the culture as black women. The island vibe is super welcoming and makes you feel at home. It was a girls trip so having that sense of security was nice.

I recently visited Montego Bay! It was amazing and for the first time I returned from a vacation totally relaxed. We stayed at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and it was amazing! Literally laid on the beautiful beach, laid on a tube and went around the lazy river or took a dip in the pool. There were endless hammocks and spots to relax around the resort. Totally recommend this resort if you are looking to relax.

Montrgo Bay is paradise! This was our 1st Sandals stay and now we are totally HOOKED! We have already booked a Sandals Royal Barbados trip in 2020. Montego Bay was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! The beach, food, people and excursions were amazing. (Dunn’s River was my favorite). We stayed in the Romeo & Juliet Butler suite and our butlers were Aaron & Palmer. Words can not express how awesome these two butlers were to us. They catered to all our needs. If you are looking for a relaxing tropical vacation destination, go to Montego Bay.

My sisters and I wanted to take our mom to Jamaica for her birthday. My husband went as well and it was a treat! We stayed in Montego Bay and I love how all the food, drinks, and liquor was all inclusive, which is the norm out there. We went on a shopping trip which was nice, but I must advise not to buy anything until you reach the local village because the prices drop dramatically and they are the ones actually making the items. I enjoyed going to Negril and hitting up the Seven Mile Beach. It was a lot of partying and activity on the beach, there you can also find Rick’s Cafe and jump off the cliff into the water. The highlight of my trip was Dunn River Falls, I didn’t know what to expect and it was a great surprise and adventurous.

Jamaica is one of my favorite places because the food is so good. You have to get the jerk chicken from the local street restaurants . It’s nothing like the authentic Jamican seasoning. This trip we stayed a Secrets Wild Orchid. We had Travel Zap, Inc. Travel agency plan the trip which was a waste . They didn’t nothing we couldn’t have done on expedia. Secrets Wild orchid is a nice couples resorts but the agent did not tell us that it was attached to Secrets Breathless , which was more modern and catered to singles. This would have been a better place for 3 single ladies to vaca. We just played there each day. The private beaches were relaxing and the customer service at the hotel was hands down superb. I love when people make be excited about spending my money with them. It was definitely a “ what ever you like “ service experience from food , drinks, towels, and concierge .

Turn down for what? Jamaica is so much fun, the culture and the people make this destination very unique. I’ve been four times and each time was a different experience. Whether you prefer to relax on the beach, enjoy some delicious jerk chicken, or head to Negril for some non stop Raggae and Soca music you are bound to have a great time in Jamaica. There is plenty to do from Dunn’s River Falls, parasailing or snorkeling. Ya mon!

Jamaica was amazing. I went with a group on a Carnival Cruise. I visited for a day and went horseback riding on the beach. The guide was well informed and aware of the culture and was able to share with us along the way. The views were magical and my horse was friendly. Once we got off of the ship there were venders to choose from to pick our activities. We also had jerked chicken which was nothing short of delicious at an affordable price. I plan on going back for a longer stay so that I can experience the culture more.

I traveled to the area of Montego Bay Jamaica to enjoy a nice relaxing getaway/girls trip with my mother. I ended up staying at the Hilton Rose Hall resort and was able to get just that ! Although this is a family resort, they have many areas that are considered ” quiet places” or adults only that are great for people looking to chill by the beach with a drink in one hand and a book in the other. I enjoyed many of my days in the quiet area and was even able to squeeze in a few naps. If you are planning to stay at this resort and looking to relax, my advice would be to go to the beach or pool in the day around 7am or later at night closer to 6 or 7 pm. The pool /beach area is open to the public 24 hrs a day so there are no restrictions when it comes to laying out. Also if you’re going to go to Jamaica make sure you stay awhile. I stayed for 5 days 4 nights and although I relaxed a lot I didn’t get the chance to do the excursions that everyone referred to me like Dunn’s river falls. Time really flies when you’re in the sun and having fun : ). But other wise great place to go and relax and forget about all your troubles at home

If you are traveling with a group, renting out a villa instead of booking rooms at a hotel allows for affordability and connectivity when in Jamaica. I went with a group of 9 and we stayed at Jamaica Rose Villa. Transportation is definitely needed as we were 20 minutes from downtown. However, we traveled to Ocho Rios one day and Negril the other, so transportation was needed anyways. There were 8 beds and 6 rooms in the villa, with 2 rooms having double beds. For four days, the total price was $133 when split amongst nine. The villa had a large courtyard with a pool and swings, a terrace for eating, and plenty of natural foliage. You can even see the ocean while on the terrace. It is definitely indoor/outdoor living and hot in the main part of the house with strong AC in each of the rooms. There were minor inconveniences, such as cold water on occasion. However, it was nice to have a large space where we could all be together and not feel crowded. The neighborhood was also very safe.

When I went to Jamaica, I stayed in Montego Bay at the Riu Palace on the Adults only side. If you are looking for peace and quiet, I definitely recommend staying on that side of the resort! The family side was where all of the pool and beach fun was! The good thing about the adults only side is that you have access to both!
We met a taxi driver named “Crackas” in the airport that became our tour guide and driver throughout our whole trip! He took us through the entire city and showed us where to party with the locals! My favorite was Margaritaville! In the daytime, it is a great place to eat and drink and have fun but at night, it turns into a bomb nightclub! (Wear sandals and prepare to wine!) We also went snorkeling in Doctor’s Cave which has water that even the worst swimmers and manuever! I highly recommend the boat cruise associated with it as it came with alcohol!

What can I say about my mother’s homeland. One of the places I have had the pleasure of visiting since I was child. My favourite area being Negril.. the Seven Mile Beach, powder soft hot sand, rum and coke in had cannot be beat. Best place to relax and enjoy the sun and sand. Make sure you make your way to Rick’s Cafe for the evening sunset or to jump off the cliff to the warm water below……
Montego Bay is also nice. Great place for relaxation and food. Street Vendors here will blow your mind.. Make sure you take in Jerk Chicken on Hardoe Bread… It will change your life! LMAOOO. Nightlife is great here lots to do.
Ocho Rios – also a great place. Its close to Dunn’s River Falls – so take a tour and walk the waterfall. The water is so warm (wear water shoes for sure).. Then spend the nights dancing away to the beats of the best dancehall music.
Overall, I suggest you do an all inclusive and take your ventures out of the resort for some additional fun

I have been to seven islands in the Caribbean and Negril Jamaica has one the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Although Seven Mile beach has no luxurious resorts but only hotels on a smaller scale, the vibe that exists there simply covers it all. Bottomless boat tours will take you to fantastic islands not far away where locals will grill seafood for you right there, on the beach. The nightlife as you imagine is quite busy since Jamaicans are known for their love for music. Everyone is very friendly and although some people might seem clingy, the second you tell them you’re not interested, they back off. Don’t forget to visit “Ricks cafe” where you can jump off the cliff, make sure you observe how to do it since the instructors don’t tell you much and the line usually doesn’t give you much time to ask questions before you jump. Fun place for friends!

When I traveled to Jamaica I stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay which is the adult side of an all inclusive resort. I paid about $1,300.00 including a flight on Delta, the arrival and departure lounges in the Montego Bay airport and transfers to and from the resort. While there we had amazing service from the resort workers, and got to participate in excursions such as ATVs, a booze cruise, and climbing up Dunn’s River. All around Jamaica has everything for you to do including adventure, romance, great resorts and service and more. Def somewhere you should consider vacationing.

Jamaica was a nice trip. I went the resort/ all inclusive route because I went with a group. It was beautiful and very relaxing. We visited places like margaritaville in Montevideo Bay for drinks and the “middle-of-ocean” obstacle course. In that same area we were able to dine on some traditional curry goat and we also hit up a Jamaican Burger King. The only issue I had was the number of people asking for tips. It was annoying but didn’t take away from the beauty of Jamaica!

We stayed at the RIU Negril, it is all inclusive with plenty of restaurants and bars. Everyday at noon they have a guy come out and cook jerk chicken on the beach. I had one of the best times of life on the booze cruise. Margaritaville is a fun place to party and it gets packed. Most of the clubs we went to were outside and it was HOT! Other than being extremely hot the whole time I had a great time. If anyone knows of a Jamaican jerk recipe I need it lol.

Jamaica, Jamaica!! Jamaica is always a good time though I visit quite often. No matter how many times I visit there are always new things to do. Recently I stayed in the Kingston area as my friends and I were participating in carnival. We stayed in the hills close to new kingston & on our down time from the carnival parties we traveled to Portmore, St. Catherine for a nearby beach.

For an awesome beach close to town we visited “The Boardwalk” beach which is very close to Fort Clarence Beach in the Hellshire area. Here you can find some awesome fried fish & festival or lobster and other seafood. The water is blue and if you’re lucky there will be a man with his horse giving horse rides along the beach.

Overall , this recent trip to Jamaica was nothing short of amazing! Even as restricted as I was to exploring.

Jamaica is one of my all time favorite places to visit. From it’s delicious food, reggae/soca music, or the overall vibes of the people you are sure to have a great time. With an amazing night life as well as it’s exotic beaches there is always something to do in Jamaica. With landmarks such as Dunn’s River, Blue Lagoon, Bloody Bay, Bob Marley Museum and so much more, you’ll never be bored. If you enjoy tourist attractions, Ocho Rios or Montego Bay is the place to be, but if you prefer to be in tune with the locals, (like myself) Kingston is where its at.

There is something from everyone is Jamaica!

If you decide to do the horse back riding they will take you through the jungle and the ocean so make sure to wear a bathing suit under your clothing. They do give you the opportunity to change into your bathsuit for the ocean ride. Dunn’s River fall is for an active person. You need to be sure to take swim shoes with you and a secure swimsuit because the water is constantly flowing and you will get soaking wet. I will also recommend climbing it with a guide because it is a little dangerous and they climb the course daily and can help you through it.

I have visited many places, but Jamaica is number one on my list. I have actually been three times. If you’re looking for good vibes and great hospitality, Jamaica is the place “mon”’! I have stayed at the Royalton Negril
Which is calm and relaxing and I have also stayed at Riu Reggae and Secrets in Montego Bay. If you’re looking to party, Montego Bay is the place to go. If you stay in Montego Bay, I highly recommend the luminous lagoon and Martha Brae Excursion.

Jamaican people take great pride in their history, and a lot of Jamaicans can tell you some, if not all of their national heroes.
I stayed in Montego Bay, and the main purpose of my trip was to visit the Bob Marley museum. After reading “Catch a Fire” I just had to see where the legend once rested his head. The tour guide was friendly and very well spoken. There’s an ital restaurant near the entrance, and the fish is seasoned to perfection.
I left there feeling like I actually knew the man! Aside from that there are many monuments with informational placards scattered around the island, and so after a few days you feel like a Jamaican yourself lol. As mentioned, there’s a very strong sense of pride in Jamaica, and I love that the people there are able to spew facts in their sing songy patois.

This Past Weekend in Montego Bay, Jamaica had me in complete awe. We stayed at a Private Residence (Point of View). The house had 3 bedrooms and a pool house. A cook, driver, gardner and security were there everyday to greet us. We got a chance to go to the beach and relax. The house was soooooo wonderful that we spent a couple of nights staying in. The view and the hills were breathtaking.

I stayed at the Riu Palace in Negril, more on the pricey side but the staff were amazing! If you’re staying in Negril go to Margaritaville at night. It’s safe, and locals and tourists party there all night. YS Falls is a beautiful waterfall park area. If you can get to Ocho Rios, go to Little Ochie an amazing fish restaurant on the beach, with fresh seafood jerked to perfection.

I stayed in the Bahia Principe when I came to Jamaica. If your into good Island food Jamaica is hands down the best Caribbean food you’ll find! I stayed for a week and rented a car and traveled all around the Island… no matter what part of the island you may be in the food is amazing! Just go to all the local food spots. The jerk chicken is soooo goood and don’t forget about the fresh fish! If food is what your interested in, then JA is the place to go!

I’m from Jamaica, I can say that the food is amazing. Take a day or 2 out of your schedule to eat local food or food shops at the side of the road. The best rice and peas, conch, jerk chicken you’ll find! If you are staying close to St. Elizabeth, there’s something called YS falls. And it is beautiful. I was able to do a zip line tour and I ziplined over a waterfall. There’s also helpful tour guides. Most importantly, try the rum punch. $12 for a huge bottle.

I loveee Jamaica. I’ve literally been everywhere and I cannot emphasize how sad I am to leave every time. The food is honestly heaven on earth. The people are warm and welcoming and boy, can they partyyyyy. Pier One is definitely the nightlife spot if you haven’t been.

I stayed in Ocho Rios. Everything was in close proximity. You must stay in Ocho Rios if you want to get the island vibes. There’s plenty of clubs for night life, restaurants, and street food. The excursions all take place in Ocho Rios. The round trip from the MBJ airport is only $150 for 4 ppl. You can make those arrangements at the airport when you land. We went to the Blue Hole and it was amazing. You can schedule all of your excursions through Chukka. Jamaica is a beautiful!

I’ve been to Ocho Rios, Falmouth, and Montego Bay. All are within driving distance of each other. I like Ocho Rios for the Dunn’s River falls , climbing the falls was fun, I’ve done it twice. Falmouth was good for the shopping IMO. Montego Bay is the most relaxing to me, I’ve never stayed at an all inclusive there, but I have heard that they are very nice. A word of warning when in Ocho Rios, stay with your group, and when it starts getting dark head to your hotel or wherever you’re staying at. Both times I was there I had an incident occur, other than that it can be fun and lots to do.

Jamaica was such an amazing time for me. We stayed in Ocho Rios at a wonderful hotel with beach views. We got to go at the mystic Mountain, Went Duns River falls, did ATV. There is so much to do in Jamaica. I have to head back some time to visit the town of the famous Bob Marley and the museum dedicated to him.

The absolute best experience I’ve had was staying in a private villa in Montego Bay Jamaica. We rented our villa through jamaicavillas.com. Our villa included a full staff (butler, maid, cook, gardner) and exceeded our expectations. Our group loved the privacy of our own pool and 70 feet of beach right on to the bay. It was a different experience than a resort and changed the way I viewed travel. We wanted for NOTHING during our stay. The cook prepared meals to our request and I enjoyed oxtails, pumpkin soup and rice for my special birthday dinner. The butler made us some of the best rum punch I have ever tasted. All in all, the cost of the private villa with the paying for the food/drinks and tipping the staff cost about the same as an all-inclusive resort but our experience was authentic, unique and memorable!

If you are looking for a great time, great music, food, and constant dancing than Jamaica is the country for You. I went during the week they were celebrating their Independence Day and emancipation day. They had a series of parties called Dream weekend! There was day parties and night parties daily which were all open bar. The jerk chicken sold at the outside grills are the best. Go to Jamaica and you’ll have the time of your life.

Amazing place with beautiful turquoise waters and fine sand beaches. The local food is amazing from jerk chicken to oxtails Jamaica is rich in history. For anyone living on the east coast and it’s a 3 hour flight from New York and is also good for a quick weekend getaway. Pretty safe for tourist but of course be mindful of your surroundings like anywhere else. I plan on visiting early spring 2018.

I stayed at the Iberostar in Montego Bay. This is an all inclusive beachfront resort. The Iberostar is a newer resort, so everything was clean and up to date. Several restaurants and pools located on the resort. Open bars with amazing drinks everywhere. All included room service around the clock. Amazing staff!! Beautiful people!! Very nice place to stay!

I visited Montego Bay, Jamaica for a friends wedding. We stayed at the Hilton Rose Hall Montego Bay. The local food on the resort was amazing. The crystal blue waters accented with the white sand on the beach was breath taking. The vibe is just amazing. I most definitely will go back to visit not just Montego Bay but a few other cities in Jamaica.

Jamica was such an extraordinary experience. We visited the blue hole and jumped off a 22ft cliff into 50 ft of water. We also got to ride horses along the waters of laughing water beach. The food was also amazing. The culture in which we were exposed to inspired many ideas of my own in the kitchen. Jamaica ?? is definitely worth visiting. Me and NG friends can’t wait to go back.
