It’s always been my dream to visit Italy because I imagined it would be rich in history, have beautiful scenery and ridiculous food. Well, I finally stepped foot during an overnight layover in Milan. I didn’t get much time to explore the city, but I made sure I definitely tried some food. I ate at Ristorante Biffi in the Galleria Vittorio. MY GOODNESS! Italian cuisine is so delicious!!! I still dream of it all. I was there with my family so we all ordered different items at the restaurant and not one dish disappointed. From the simplest spaghetti to the seafood pasta and the lamb chops…oh man! The service was impeccable as well. The galleria and that whole vicinity of Milan has a lot of great food and sites to see. I’ll definitely be going back Italy. .

Milan is literally one of my favorite cities. Last year alone I visited like 10+ times. Aside from the Duomo, the Galleria and the Navigli canals, one of my favorite things is the actual food. When in Milan make your way to the Brera neighborhood. It’s more authentic Italian food and it’s away from the major tourist spot. Not a far walk from the Duomo cathedral. One of my favorite spots to eat is “il Kaimano”. The staff are super friendly and the manager is very funny. If you don’t see something you like on the menu or want to add a special ingredient not mentioned in the menu feel free to let them know. They will make the dish to your likings. It’s the perfect spot to eat. I always get the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina. Also keep in mind Milan does the siesta and hours may vary (this particular place does not open on mondays). Enjoy!

Hello, I had a fabulous stay in Milan. my hotel was the (Hotel degli Arcimboldi) 250euro for 5 nights booked on the Booking site.
it is 250 meters from Bignami metro station. convenient to move around and very well served.
    my activities during my stay:
    – castello sforzesco di milano. (magnificent fountain)
    – parco sempione (it is just in front of the sfrozesco castle)
    – the duomo cathedral and the victor emanuel ii gallery (the visit is essential)
    – the navigli (place livened up at night and nice for romantic dinners)
    – the Column of San Lorenzo (nice district of Milan) off the beaten track.
    – vertical boscoe (towers with flowered balconies)
    – cimtero monnumentale (a unique cemetery in the world) which is worth seeing.
    – stadio san siro (to attend a football match) guaranteed atmosphere.
    – quadrilatero della moda (coming chic) with several luxury boutiques.

Milan is a beautiful city! Most people already know the popular places to visit such as Duomo Milano, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and Sforzesco castle. I enjoyed visiting all these places but the best part for me was doing a day trip to Lake Como. It was so amazing and beautiful to see and explore the village Bellagio. I loved walking around the picturesque streets and sitting near Lake Como to enjoy the breathtaking views. There are many ways to reach Lake Como but the way I did it is as follows: Take train from Milano Centrale to Varenna and then take a boat from Varenna to Bellagio.

Milano, what a beautiful city! This is definitely the place to shop till you drop.
Places to visit are Duomo di Milano , Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ,and Sforzesco castle which has this beautiful fountain in the front.
I recommend purchasing advance tickets to the Duomo for your climb up the cathedral rooftops. You do have to make your climb at the designated time that was selected on your ticket.
If you just want to visit the cathedral, it is completely free to enter the church. For that beautiful picture in front of the Duomo, I recommend arriving very early in the morning or late in the evening when there are less people around.

Across from the Duomo is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele with stores from almost every major luxury brand. There are also restaurants there as well. For breakfast, we had croissants with coffee at the Galleria. We noticed that although there were tables and chairs, people would just stand at the counter eat their croissants and then walk away. It was an interesting scene to watch. So we did the same. When in Milano right..

Milan is a very beautiful city, they dont really have attractions, only Duomo and Castle Sforzesco.
I enjoyed every corner of the centre, and every pizzeria, every top designer and non top shop, I am FashionStylist and met new people there. Milan is in northern Italy and worth it to stay in Milan and make day trips to cities all around distance 2 hours from Milan and many parts of Switzerland you can visit in a day trip. Milano is just perfect in terms of train transport to every major city in Central Europe so you can spend a couple of days in Milan and them take a train to Munich, Wien, Zurich, Basel, Geneve, Rome, Praha or make day trips in northern or Central Italy or Lugano in Switzerlan.

Milan is a beautiful city full of history, culture and fashion. Places to visit are Duomo di Milano (Massive Gothic Cathedral and Art work), Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (High end shopping place in the 1800s) and Sforzesco castle (Medieval fortress) and for the restaurants are Cibario, L’Immagine Bristrot Ristorante. Milan is highly recommended and a must Visit.

Great people ! But I think this place is more for sightseeing and shopping. I arrived at 3pm so alot of the museums and monuments were closing ( close at 5pm). . All I got to see is Duomo di Milano which is a huge cathedral. I was very beautiful! If you didn’t buy tickets it okay because the ticket counter on the side of the cathedral. In front of the cathedral is are performers …BEWARE the are men offering a bracelet and they put it on you then beg for money ( the asked me for 5 euros but I said I only have 2) but……they are nice African brothers trying to make some coins. They also offered gave me seeds to feed the pigeons and they all flew up , they ate right off my hand. It was a cool unique experience. Keep in mind, Milan has a lot of African refugees and you’ll see a lot of them especially at the Milan train station.

Across from Duomo di Milano is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II which is a breathtaking shopping area. It has high designer goods and awesome gelatos. I had a gelato from Cioccolati Italiani it very famous but a bit expensive. The lines are also really long, but you can get cheaper gelatos throughout Italy that taste just as good, maybe even better.

Milan pleasantly surprised me. As a solo traveler, I found lots to do and very friendly locals. The city is relatively compact with a lot of history. The Duomo is beautiful on both the inside and outside. From the rooftop to the interior, I spent several hours at the Duomo. The Galleria across from the Duomo is very gorgeous inside. It’s full of expensive shops and touristy restaurants but it’s still worth a stroll. Also, make sure you book the Last Supper Museum tour at the Santa Maria Della Grazie convent months in advance so you can witness the world famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci. The museum takes small groups in a climate controlled room to view the painting for a small allotted time. It’s worth every minute. The Sforza Castle is a nice site to stroll around. There are a few museums in the castle but I arrived too late. Exploring the neighborhoods was fun too. I walked around and saw the nice shops at the Fashion Quadrilateral. If you’ve been to Rodeo Drive or Fifth Avenue, this area is very similar. I was most impressed by the Navigli Neighborhood. Navigli had a lovely atmosphere with canals and restaurants that stayed open late. I had great Asian food there. Overall, Milan is definitely worth the visit. If you have limited time, go straight to the Duomo. You will be very impressed.

Milan is absolutely beautiful! It’s very attractive and charming with romantic and urban balanced vibes. From the architecture to the food, the city is breathtaking. Many people choose to visit Rome, Venice, and Florence because of the “limited” attractions in Milan BUT please do not follow the hype. A few of my favorite things to do in Milan was visiting the Duomo di Milano, Galleria Vittorio, and indulging in authentic Italian cuisine. Italy is a huge fashion capital, so of course, I enjoyed visiting shops around the Duomo as well! I definitely recommend using the city’s metro to navigate through the city to alleviate high priced/limited taxi services. Also, most businesses close from 3-6 p.m. in Milan, but they reopen for happy hour at 6 p.m. (the wait is definitely worth it). If you choose to go out for happy hour, please check out the restaurants near the Navigli District.

Milan is definitely worth a visit, 1-3 days is good.
the cathedral in Milan is magnificent, the galleria, la scala, the last supper which we almost didn’t see.
it is not the most beautiful city I’ve been to but it does have some beautiful elements that should be seen. There’s also plenty of shops to visit.

I done Milan in 24 hours with my best friend. We loved it and defo think one day is do able. It’s a really pretty city, the Galerie di Vittorio and Milano cathedral are as beautiful as everyone makes them out to be. We love vegan food so was on the hunt for ‘Flower burger’ which do pink and blue plant based burgers. We found it after getting lost ? but really enjoyed it, one of the staff members told us about a secret spot. This royal palace with pink flamingos, it was Alice in wonderland vibes ?? I would recommend Milan as a weekend trip ♥️

First off, I would like to share my experience getting to Milan in case anyone has this same route. I flew TAP air Portugal to Malpensa airport in Milan with a layover in Lisbon. My friend and I (both African American women of color) were greeted with racism. The people in Portugal were nice, but the flight attendants and crew were not. Singled out , we suppose for being black, we were forced to check our bags. In fact pulled out of the line to do so in front of others while they watched with their bags of similar size. Maybe this was standard procedure but the snark remarks and snide comments definitely felt like racism.

Once in Milan, we experienced some discrimination trying to get s SIM card at the TIM store in milan centrale train station- stares, pushed up faces, condescending tones (while others were treated with smiles) – disgusting.

The best part about Milan was our Airbnb host and the home itself: https://abnb.me/lXM2pWSjxW

Walking distance to most things, and including free breakfast that Stefano (host) complimentary offers you by way of the coffee shop next door- the customer service he provides is great and he was so nice and accommodating!

Super secure, seriously the locks on the apt door is legit. The condo can fit 2-4 people comfortably. It’s on the second floor of a tucked away building that sits on a busy street. Had some residents staring at us, (3 black women) but seriously got this everywhere. Didn’t feel unsafe at all, walked to the duomo and dinner/ supermarket. Plus there is a taxi stand right out front since we didn’t use Uber – win!

Had the best gelato at Granaio Gelato on Via Spadari street which is very close to the Milan Duomo- if you need a treat after shooing away pigeons and local solicitors.

For food, things close early. Have a plan for dinner before the day flies by and you’re stuck.

I went to Milan in January so it was cold but at least there was not a lot of people and was a les to enjoy the city. I stayed there for 4 days. My hotel was an Ibis downtown. Milan is a a small city and if you go visit there you better like architecture, art or museum because there is a lot of that.
Things to do in Milan is to visit the Duomo, right next to it Galleria Vitoria Emanuele 2 and La Scala.
In the afternoon you can take a walk to the Sforza Castle.
Because Milan is a small city you can do most of the think by foot which I really enjoyed.
On the evening I recommend you to go to the Navigli for an aperitivo. It’s famous there it’s around 5-6pm and you go get a drink and they serve you food with it for free. Pretty cool hein ?
Also I recommend you to get a slice of pizza at the famous “Spontini” it’s really really good and one slice will be enough it’s big.
If you stay 4 days like I did I recommend you to take one day to go visit “Como Lago” it takes an hour from the center to get there and it’s not expensive. You have to take the train from Milano Cadorna Railway station and stop at Como nord lago. It’s really pretty and you can have some quiet time outside of the city and enjoy some ice cream.

Milan is a pretty city but the people are very dispassionate towards different cultures of people, languages, and black people because of the immigration of our African bloodlines are coming there which is still the history of what the Romans were. Me and my girlfriend stayed at a hotel called Hotel degli Arcimboldi which was pretty far from the airport and also the airport is far from Milan main city. The hotel was very comforting inside and out but the food service wasn’t so good so don’t expect great food. We went bought our tickets online to see the Duomo Cathedral and it was beautiful there but still crazy how the Romans stole the Egyptians life practices of life but killed them in the past. In the area of the cathedral is a shopping area which is where we found a good pizza spot called Spotini, the other pizza spots were over priced and not worth it at all. I’m convinced Italy doesn’t have great pizza. We went to Sforzesco Castle that also had a Egyptian museum that have a description saying exactly how the Romans took the practices the Egyptians used and put them into there own lives. The castle is huge! The train are electronic and very easy to understand how to get around because Milan is so small. If you go to Quartiere Isola there’s Great Wall art and these amazing apartment building but still the area isn’t as pretty which was weird. Most of all Milan, Italy was okay enough for three days.

I visited milan with my boyfriend and it was a wonderful experience. I can describe milan as: history and romance.
If you go you have to visit: Duomo di Milano, Castelo di Sforezco, Navigli, Milan Stadium, Galleria di Emmanuel, museums and many beautiful places that this city has. Also, the prices are very comfortable.

Milan is a stylish, bustling, urban city with plenty to do. The Duomo is a must visit. It is NOT overated, the inside will take your breath away. It is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. If you are into fashion they have alot of trendy shopping districts, and the high fashion brands dont seem quite as expensive here as they are in America. The architecture is amazing and the nightlife is great. Italians can come across as rude if you don’t speak their language but overall our interactions were pleasant and people were happy to help us. Milan has alot of graffiti/street art as well. We arrived to Milan from the Swiss Alps by train. The train ride through the Northern Italy countryside was one of the most peaceful and serene I’ve ever experienced. we stopped in the small town of Domodossola, about an hour north of Milan. It was like something from an old movie. Very traditional architecture and we had great pizza. I would recommend exploring outside of Milan, the big city, if you have a chance.

You can’t go to Milan without taking a photo in front of the Duomo Di Milano cathedral with a bunch of pigeons on you lol. Sounds ridiculous, but it makes for a pretty cool photo op. Be sure to dress nice if you want to fit in, cause these people are fashion forward.

Milan was full of eye-catching awesome architecture. I’ve never been so amazed at the work of art as I was when visiting this city. There are plenty of things to do in a short trip to see this beautiful city. Of course the Duomo Cathedral is the definition of Art to say the least. A visit to this place will be captivating I promise. The city has lots of tours for visitors which can be found on the GetYourGuide page. There are nice vintage tours to learn the history of the city, which I would recommend if you’re traveling for knowledge as well. Finally, Milan and lake Como are very close to each other. A day trip over to the lake will be worth everything. Take advantage to see the lake when visiting Milan. The panoramic views are unmatched and you can have wonderful lunch/dinner overlooking the lake and the Italian Alps at the perfectly situated Bella Vista Hotel.
