Mongolia was definitely one of the biggest surprises of my travel life so far. I must admit I didnt know much about it apart from Gengis Khan and that there was a massive stainless steel statue of him that one had to visit!

We arrived to Ulaanbaatar on a train from Siberia where the landscape changes from wet and gray to endless open grassy plains. We booked a few days in the national park and got to stay in a ger camp! hence ticking off one item from the old bucket list!!!

There are plenty of activities to do here, the horse riding nad ATV riding tours are not to be missed. We were also lucky enough to visit a traditional ger homestead where a lovely lady told us stories about their way of life in her immaculate ger. after a couple of days, and a quick visit to the aforementioned stainless steel Gengis!, we went back to Ulaanbaatar and got a taste of their nightlife after a day exploring the city. It’s a fairly small city with pleasant people that seems to be in the middle of a massive construction boom.

The nightlife mainly consisted of Karaoke clubs which are not really my thing but when in Rome…

Would love to go back and hope to some day!
