I visited Palapye Bostoswana on a camping trip to trek up Moremi Gorge. It is not I repeat it is not for the faint of heart. The trek to the waterfall which takes about one hour to and from is intense. Proper shoes and proper hydration highly recommended. Tons of wild animals to see on the way tho. My first time seeing a dung beetle in action and it was something to marvel at. How do they do that?! The monkies were also making it known that they know we were there by making lots of loud noises. The Gorge itself is sacred to the Palapye people so please please and the guard will say this also be respectful. It is so sacred that whistling is fobiden for fear it would summon the anscetors who occupied the gorge years ago. I also got a chance to see the ginormous rock that fell from the mountain when the chief of the Gorge died ( as told by our guide) It a marvel to see. The water it self is crystal clear and if you’re lucky you might get a few wild figs to munch on if the monkies don’t get to them first. To get to the beginning of the Gorge is an intense 6 hour trek which we didn’t take because time was against us.So we visted only the waterfall. There is abosoluetly no swimming allowed at the Gorge and believe me it’s tempting because the water just looks so peaceful. It’s a must see for anyone looking for adventure. Get your sneakers and water and take the trek you won’t regret it.
