Took my daughter on a graduation trip and we spent 4 days in Paris. What a gorgeous city! The art is overwhelmingly captivating! The city has so much vigor with its flowery presence, drama on every corner and majestic architecture! I found the people to be a bit pretentious and unfriendly. They really force you to use your translator before almost assisting you with anything. The sheer volume of steps I took while visiting was shocking. So much to see! Expensive but worth it. Rate an 8 out of 10…

Traveled to Paris July 2023 with my family (Puerto Rican husband and 2 Afro-Latino sons). We felt safe navigating Paris with no issues. We walked several neighborhoods and was assisted in finding places with no issue. Overall, we didn’t feel the gaze of racism during our stay.

Research clubs, food spots and areas that are known to be minority friendly; some places in Paris discriminate against minorities. Learn a few basic words in French and travel to areas that celebrate black culture, food and fashion. There are African museums to explore as well.

I visited Paris in Dec 2022. Overall the trip was amazing and we got to do all of the “touristy” things. If you plan to go in winter, make sure to layer up; it was extremely cold when I went. My favorite activity during the trip was doing the Food Tour with Chef PJ. He is extremely knowledgeable about the local neighborhood, how food is sourced in Paris, and about different cuisines. Be prepared to walk ALL day, but enjoy good food, drinks, and good company.

So what is like Traveling While Black in Paris? Well everyone’s experience is different but there are some trends we can definitely see from a historical and even political standpoint. So when considering travel tips for Paris just keep in mind that France has really taking a color blind approach when trying to tackle any systemic issues when dealing with local black people. Part of the reason for this is that they don’t capture demographic information so its difficult to see how things are progressing or going backward.

This TikTok Video that goes into greater detail about it as well as my personal Traveling While Black eperience in Paris:
    1) https://www.tiktok.com/@greenbookglobal/video/7186009922788658475
    2) https://www.tiktok.com/@greenbookglobal/video/7186371207350979882

Full Disclosure: This Travel Tip for Paris and video is from me, Lawrence, the Founder of GBG. I thought this video would give some great context for other black travelers that are looking to plan a trip to Paris.

So, outside of all this, Paris is still great place for Black Travelers. You have your normal tourist attractions (Eiffel Tower, Louvre) but you will also find the black culture really does permeate many parts of Paris from its food, music, and even history. So I would definitely recommend if you havent been before as a Black Travelers and its also a great city to repeat if you’ve been already.

My lady & I traveled to Paris December 2022. We flew out of Newark international airport on Delta airlines. Once we landed we grabbed our bags and headed to the local train. I did some research before hand and read that traveling by train was the best way to get around the city. On the first leg of our trip we spent 2 day at Disneyland Paris. Disney is alway magical so A+ rating’s on that! We stayed at the Residhome Val d’Europe. Which was 1 train stop from Disneyland’s entrance gate. From there we jumped back on the train into the city. Checked into Citadines Tour Eiffel Paris. They were located right across from the train station & a 15 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. While staying there we visited the Palace of Versailles. Which is a lot of walking so bring comfy shoes. The next day we did the direct access Eiffel Tower Tour. It’s a must because most tours require you to walk up and don’t allow you access to the top. The last leg of our trip we spent on the other side of town. We stayed at the Idol Hotel. Which was pretty swanky!! The room was alot smaller then the others. But it’s a great location & the staff is awesome. While there we did the Black Paris Tour. Definitely recommend them if you want to learn the history of the Black Parisians. They take you all around the city and even inform you on places to go hang, party, shop, and eat. They can be found at http://blackparistour.com/. The last day we did a cabaret show. It was cool but I would have preferred doing Moulin Rouge. Which was sold out by the time I went to book. All in all Paris was great! We will return but during warmer months. We felt safe and welcomed as Black female travelers. So if you’re thinking about it. Be like Nike and Just Do It!

    Tip:
    Book everything in advance
Use your local bank to convert your $ to Euro’s before you arrive. You need at least a week.
Tipping isn’t necessary. It’s included in your bill. You can leave a tip but 1/2 Euro max.
French food is awesome! Trying new things is a must.
The French are super chill. So be patient, they are in no rush.
Buy a Sim Card in the airport. It’s cheaper then your international charges
They use Uber if you don’t like trains
Check the weather! We were freezing in December
Learn some French, it will go along way.
Book the black Paris tour 1st. They’ll give you a lot of insight about Paris.

I’ve been to Paris four times—once in the late ‘nineties, in the early 2000s, and most recently in 2017 and 2018. My experiences were mostly confined to the main parts of the city and not the outskirts. Overall, I enjoyed each of my times and seemed to blend in, even as a black American. In fact, every time I go there foreigners for some reason tend to approach me asking for directions. In 2017 I was there during a French election season and French politicians in different parts of the city would approach me on the street asking for my vote until I told them I was American. So I felt more safe and comfortable in Paris than I do in many American cities.

Spend a Day in Le Marais!! I wrote an article in Get Your Guide documenting a full day of things to do and I highly recommend this for Black travelers.

Food at the Marché des Enfants Rouges is absolutely amazing and there is so much to do along the walk from there to Central Pompidou and the Opera House. You must check it out, even go to the Louvre and shopping at Samaritan along the way.

I have been to France 3 times – twice to Paris and once to Yvoire. I was in college when I first went to France. We were young and crazy and the experience was quite different. We went to all the touristy places – Eiffel Tower, Moulin Rouge, Champs Elysees, Louvre, castles. It was a great experience. I did not speak French but one of the other students did so that helped. The second time I was an adult and traveled during Christmas time with my husband. Like I said in another review, the issues we had were moreso because we were American, not necessarily because we were Black. The third trip was to Yvoire which is a small town. We were staying in Switzerland and took a drive to Yvoire which was a quaint little town. I think it is best to visit France at a time other than the summer.

Paris is just beautiful, but you do need to try to speak the language. I visited in 2017. I spent 2 days and I need to get back. I missed the Louvre, but did get to tour the Eiffel, we had dinner at the restaurant there, it wasn’t that great to me. But no matter, there are plenty of places to get great food. The food is just so fresh, the breads, the cheese, the meats, the wine, it’s just good. I recommend Crepes in the morning with a croissant.
We stayed at the Hotel Cadet, which I learned recently closed and has not reopened post covid. We also took a day trip to Versailles, which is about 90 minutes outside of Paris. We took a night river cruise down the Seine and saw Notre Dame before the fire, lit up at night. We also visited Sacré-Cœur and Lafayette Department Store.
Paris in spring is beautiful, you can grab a bottle of wine and just sit on the side of Seine and watch the sunset.
Customer service is french, but when we tried speaking the language, people were more willing to help us.
I plan to return and stay a bit longer next time.

Update, went back to Paris for 4 days on a sister’s trip in Nov 2022. Visited the Louvre, which is nice for what it was. We took a train t Reims, to visit Veuve Clicquot, which is worth it if you enjoy Champagne. We took the tour and did a tasting. Reims was a cool little town. The train to and from takes about 45 minutes one way. The rest of the trip we did what most do – we shopped, which is worth it with the global reimbursement. We stayed at the Paris Tour de Eiffel, where we had a balcony and a great view of the Eiffel. We were about a 15 minute walk from the Eiffel, the Louvre and 20 minutes from shopping, though you can always take an Uber for about $10 – $14 Euro. Can’t wait to visit again!

I stopped in Paris in Spring on a day trip. I recommend making sure you have service at all times so that you can use a translation app for the taxis if you can not speak French.
Also at the Eiffel Tower, it’s worth it to pay one of the guys that approach you to take your pictures. Our pics came out great and they angled us perfectly to get cool pics like we were touching the tower and other cute little poses.

I am giving this “things to do” tip, as most people think of Paris and its romantic nostalgia before considering all of the other aspects that attract visitors. We visited Paris as a second stop in Europe immediately after getting married in the states. Our wedding date was set purposely relative to the French Open qualifier. We hopped a train from Amsterdam. I recommend traveling intra Europe by train and bus whenever possible. We do not speak a word of French. Like most English primary speaking tourist, you’ll hear that not learning at least a few phrases to get by was to our detriment. We traveled by car service to what seemed to be the long way to our quant Parisian boutique hotel right outside of the Eiffel Tower. We quickly checked in and walked around for food. The only good aspect of our Parisian experience was the French Open. Our first day in the city, the first meal gave me food poisoning. I believe it was the whole shrimp in my salad. I spent the evening laying on the cold bathroom floor of the hotel. Without speaking French, walking seemed the best way to explore. Although we ventured on the bus once. The French in Paris were not particularly friendly or welcoming. We shopped, ate authentic French macaroons (my favorite are still from a little European bakery outside of Detroit in the states), crepes, McDonalds (because you have to visit McDonalds in every destination of your travels. Even if for something small and specific to the demographic. We were the average tourists in Paris after a day at the open. Each of my travel destinations, I have to shop the open markets and eat food native to the area. It’s “the culture I travel for”. Paris has some of the best sought after shopping in Europe. The best designers in the world set up shop here. If you appreciate museums, Paris has some of the most popular in the world. We did not drift along the Siene river, but we were amongst thousands of people who set a lock on the “Locks of Love Bridge”. Like many popular tourist attractions, its best to do your homework in advance. Buy tickets in advance if you dont want to spend half your day in line or miss out all together!!

So I studied abroad in Paris in 2008 for a semester and I will share my experience. Things have may definitely changed since then. Paris is a great city, full of adventure, rich in history. They are proud of their language and culture so when asking for help, ask first if the person speaks English (Parlez-vous l’anglais?). They will speak to you in English, but be more pleasant because they find it respectful. There are many museums. Some of my favorites are musée D’orsay and the louve. I also liked bibliotheque (library) de Georges Pompidou. It has a pretty unique design and worth taking a look inside. I cannot remember what arrondissement it is in, maybe the 4th, but it is in a popular area.

Food. Lots of local food in Paris. There’s a creperie cart almost everywhere. Food is pretty good. Cant go wrong. If you want to go to the grocery store, leader price was a cheap store. Some stores closed for 2 hrs during the day.

Nightlife- The area of Pigalle where the Moulin Rouge is would be a nice place to walk around. There is also club Gibus that I went to often. However I went there in my early 20s so I am not sure if I would frequent the same night clubs now.

Traveling while black- I had very little problems while I was in Paris and did not experience racism. However, my experience may have been different as a French student. Paris does have a black neighborhood. I believe anything in the 16th arrondissement or above, you’ll see all the africans. You can get your hair done.
I would rate Pris as a great city to visit. It is also safe. Great transit system as well.

In 2017 my initial plan for my one week visit to Europe was to spend 2 days in Madrid, 3 days in Barcelona and 2 days in Brussels but that plan quickly changed upon my arrival in Madrid. I said to myself ” who comes to Europe and doesn’t visit THE CITY OF LOVE?”. I quickly booked a 2 hours flight with Ryan Air for around €70.00 to Paris-Orly airport from Barcelona, luckily for me I didn’t have to worry about accommodation as I had a friend who lived right outside of Paris. I ENJOYED every second of my very short visit to Paris. Seeing the Eiffel Tower light up at night was the highlight of my visit. I wish I had more time to see more place but I definitely plan on visiting again very soon..

I visited Paris in April of 2019. The weather was kind of chilly and rainy the first two days and the other 3 days it was fair. I booked my travel for me and 3 of my friends. We are all Black with 3 of us with English as our first language and 1 as French as her first language. We stayed in a cute boutique hotel, Elysees Ceramic. The price was $1000 USD for 4 adults with 4 single beds and breakfast included. The staff was very great and informative but they didn’t have wash clothes. We came with our things, but thats something to remember. My overall experience when it came to traveling as a group group wasn’t always pleasant. We were turned away from 2 restaurants in a respectful manner, but because we were Americans. They politely told us that their restaurant was reservations only and apologized; however when we walked out my friend who spoke French told us the reason why as she over heard them speaking French. I do not remember the names of those restaurants. We did however eat at Les Demoiselles Restaurant Cafe Paris 17 and Brasserie Nai (an Indian place). One thing that stood out to me culturally was if something wasn’t the way you wanted it cook they do not replace the entire dish but rather recook the meat you gave them. This happened to my friend at 2 restaurants. She asked for her burger well done and when she bit into she say it wasn’t well done. They apologized and took it back, but brought her back the same piece of meat and just recooked it. There were a few nice people while we were out exploring the history and culture of Paris. They gave us suggestions of food places or places to visit in the city. Overall I intend to go France again, but probably not Paris. Oh yea it was pretty pricy, we had to exchange more money. We stayed in a more expensive area which made sense as to why our money went so fast.

I loved Paris. I have always heard that it is not as special as it seems so I did not have high expectations going in but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was able to get a walking tour by a friend and it was really nice to see Paris from the eyes of a local. The Parc des. Buttes-Chaumont was beautiful and is one of my favourite views in the city. There is so much to explore and see there. I would recommend going to Paris with and open mind and no expectations and just experience what the city has to offer you.

I went to Paris on august 2019/September 2019 and it was an amazing experience although it had a sour ending. I stayed at the hotel de banville. The food at the hotel was nasty, but the hotel was decent. I went to various landmarks like the louvre via Uber. It’s pretty simple to get around via Uber or the bus if you can figure it out. Then I went to the south of France(nice, Cannes and Monaco) its a must see and the highlight of my trip. The last night was spent back in Paris where someone stole my purse (with my passport in it)literally in seconds while I was taking a picture so beware of the pick pocketers. Even with that crazy experience I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

I took my best friend to Paris as a surprise in crossing one more thing off her bucket list. Booking in advance is vital in expanding your “cash” to live its full potential (laughing). Either from the carrier websites themselves (United, American, etc.) or via 3rd party websites (Expedia, Booking.com). We stayed at a 5***** for approximately US$350 for a week, I booked our excursions via Groupon where I located a full tour of the city including all the stop lines (blue, red, etc) and monumental/history sites including the Eiffel Tower for £24. Some buses only stop or showcase certain sites, but we saw them all. Additionally, at nights we would eat out and one amazing night we got the dinner tour on the river while sitting in a beautiful boat with a beautiful view eating. Their service was “on point and beyond imaginable”. We got two full course meals along with desserts for each and a welcome appetizer selection and two bottles of wine complementary of our choosing for £85. Placing a smile on my best friends face and enjoying our peace was enough for me at Paris. In my opinion, you don’t really need a “significant other” to make it enjoyable for those single ladies & gentlemen out there (smiling). Take that chance!!

Paris my heart, Paris my home, Panam my soul. I grew up 40 min away from Paris lived in Paris for 5 years. This town is more affordable than most people think. Use a weekly navigo metro pass, you will save more than a day-ticket! 25€ /week. Paris is a very well-served city in public transport.
Yes there is a luxury lifestyle but the town is also full of common lifestyle. What I love about this city is that even you are a local, you will always have a new area to discover, a new corner to enjoy, new vibes to catch. Paris is Vibrant, dynamic, charming, beautiful, breath catching, and yes messy on some corner. My love for Paris is endless.
So I won’t be talking about Tourist stuff here, you do not need that from me. Let’s share my local viewpoint. You can stay in the 19 and 20 districts of this town and still enjoy a great view on « Canal saint martin ». Besides monuments, history, and great food you can also get a taste of Paris vibes as part of the generation they so call Millenium.
Let’s focus on the 19 districts. This district is between posh and popular. I love it! Chill in Parc de la Villette with the free summer outdoor exhibitions, activities, great music center, theater, and canal de l’Ourcq … You can climb to the buttes of Chaumont parc and enjoy the view on the sacré cœur and the Eiffel tower. You can also take a walk around the canal of the Ourcq and enjoy the street artworks, it is a very nice area impact by gentrification
If you like bars, pubs, nightlife, you will enjoy Bastille in the 11 districts « Rue de Lappe » at night. The Balajo is one of my favorite spot drinks dance and chill, Latino, and old school vibes.
Les Quais d’Austerlizt (13 districts) is also a great spot to chill in the day and at night. You will find a fine restaurant on the water and a great bar with a wonderful view of Paris’s nicest bridges. Spot : Café barge, Wanderlust , La suite 34, 911 , Djoon…
If you enjoy Jazz live music, great food, you should enjoy « Bizz’art » lounge in 10 districts.
If you are in Paris between April and August, you should not miss the best hip hop urban party every Sunday, check the @sundaygroove Instagram!
In Paris, you usually start a before at 9 pm, go to the club at 1 am finished your party at 6 am but you can still enjoy an after until 9 am, yep all-night lounge… The last metro is usually a 2 am, you can uber anywhere and we do have a great night bus service.
There is some secret pedestrian road in Paris with nice old shopping galleries! They are very charming! Google is your best friend, please chase them. In french we call them « Les passages couverts de Paris »

    Paris day trip hey!
My friend has been in Germany for a week working and she fussed that I never take her anywhere when she is in town. ‍♀️‍♀️fine! I agreed to take her on a quick whirlwind tour of Paris. Train tickets ✅! Hotel ✅! Sightseeing✅! And shopping✅! All on deck and in order.
We arrive early on a Saturday morning. Around 11am. Took the ice train from Frankfurt for about $150 round trip, cheaper than a flight and less hassle than the airport. My friend had some issues with her foot so keeping walking to a minimum was required. It can be done but most European cities are walking ones so remember that when making plans.

Checked into the Hilton Opera! So nice and very centrally located. The rooms are small. Typical Europe. Not surprised. Careful about too much baggage. Always try to pack light and use easy to maneuver luggage.
The concierge was able to get us tickets on the open air bus. Stops at all the frequent tourist fun spots. They have multiple lines so be careful to see the color on the front to make sure you see what you want to see! It was about an hour or so to make the loop and we saw all the highlights. Experiencing something with someone who has never been for the first time is very cool. I’m so blessed to be so close and to have had so many experiences. I encourage those reading to get out and explore! So much of the world to see.

Once we looped 1.5 times! Needed more pics. We decided to get off around the champs elyse! The most famous shopping street in Paris! Good cafes and tons of people watching! All the bougie are here and they show up and show out. We had a little snack at Laduree! Yes yes! Best macrons in the world! Salted caramel will change your life! I haven’t been really having sweets but I splurged and will every time for this place! Also why not have a glass of champagne! I mean I’m in France right??

Afterwards we headed to Louis flagship! I mean it’s my birthday basically in a week! I felt it was allowed! ‍♀️! Didn’t do that much damage. Thank you lord cause I think Chase would have called and asked why I was in the streets clowning! Hahahha! The customer service was fantastic and when they didn’t have my size they sent me to another store that could help! making the sale! Lol! Aftwrwards we ran around the city a bit and then back to the hotel for chill time. We actually had a burger from the hotel and it was legit steak! Dear Mr Hilton…this was for the win. Loved it.

We wanted to go see the Eiffel tower at night! #fail we passed out from a busy day. The next morning we got up and headed to The Smith’s bakery! Delicious! Thanks Kent and Carter for this recommendation. We walked around the city a bit in that area. Lots of tourist shops and cute stuff. Those who get post cards they are on the way! Ugh ‍♀️ in 2019 that’s over by the way! Lol

Headed back to the hotel for our late checkout at 3pm! Shoutout Mr Hilton again! Winning! We stopped to have a cocktail before our train trip and let’s talk about this wonderful popsicle cocktail. I’m going to try and perfect something like this at the house! Lol!

All in all a great trip! I’ll be back to Paris at some point. Shoutout to my 25th city this year! 5 more to the goal! Think I’ll make it??
My birthday is in 6 days! Lord. I am so grateful to see another year. All this running around the globe and no issues. Grateful for safe and uneventful travel. So many things could happen but I’m always watching and making so I am in order to avoid any foolery.
25 cities! Crazy. I love to travel it’s almost therapeutic for me. I have decided this is my last single birthday. So Dear Future Person…let’s get this travel thing on and paint the globe together. Are you British with that nice accent?!? I’m ready! Hahah! Even if we are only dating exclusively by next year I’m here for it. Also public service announcement: I am the United Nations. I don’t focus on race, religion, and etc. happy to discuss happy mediums. :) I spent some selfish time alone for sure. I didn’t want to answer to anyone or care what they thought. #honest. But now as a real grown up I know I am not supposed to grow old alone. So not worried or pressed but something in my soul says someone is coming! !
Happy reading and love feedback! More to come as my next trip is in a week I try not to let too much grass grow under my feet!
    Until next time…..

So I went to Paris multiple times in 2019-2020. My most recent trip to Paris was during the first week of march 2020. Paris has my heart. It’s a very lovely city among many others in France. One of the reason why I keep coming back is because there’s always things to do such as taking a walk on the famous bridge of love with the Eiffel Tower in the background, witnessing from your own eyes the Mona Lisa at the Louvre museum, shopping at Les Champs Elysées, walk pass the Arc de triomphe, stop by les Galeries Lafayette(one of the most beautiful mall I’ve ever seen) and more…

Food wise: the baguettes and croissants (I know it’s cliché but it really hits different) we don’t have the same bread..
Our juice is like their wine; it’s everywhere and it’s cheap!
I personally love this red wine that you can find at mini-prix called Roche Mazet (merlot)
There are Cafés everywhere btw and all worth trying.
    Here’s a few restaurants/Café recommendations
    -Il Grano
    -Café Saint-Honoré (near Le Louvre)
    -L’avenue
    – Café constant
and for my sweet toothers don’t forget to stop by La durée and get yourself some macarons !

I know it’s going to sound very cliche but if you’re visiting Paris for the first time like I did a couple of years ago, visiting the classic places we read about online are worthy. I’m always about doing different things and avoiding crowds but there are some places that are just iconic and a must-see. If you go back to Paris, then I will suggest going to different places. Going to Paris and not visiting the Eiffel tower… that just can’t happen. I went at the end of the day, so I was able to see enjoy daytime and nighttime. Book your tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line, be smart about your time there. Take a tour to the Louvre museum, this way you skip the line and get all the history. Walk along Champs Elysees, from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe.
I was lucky to see the Notre Dame Cathedral before the fire, it was one of my favorites, I didn’t know Jesus crown of thorns was there till days later my visit. I could just walk around the city and enjoy the architecture, buying a six-pack of wine was fun, it was difficult to communicate because a lot of Parisians claim not to speak english, only french, that made me wish I knew at ñeast a little bit.

Paris was an interesting experience for me. There is a lot to see and a lot of history everywhere you walk. The food was good and our stay was very comfortable. The only thing I will say was at times I felt that the people came off as a little rude at times. I kind of got the idea that they aren’t very fond of Americans, at first I thought it was towards people of color, but then I witnessed a couple of Americans running to the Eiffel tower and there were a couple of French people yelling “stupid Americans” so I was definitely caught off guard by that. When we went out for food I just didn’t feel like I got the same kindness as I did at other European cities. Talking with multiple Americans, they felt similar. So I don’t necessarily see it as being black, but being American as a whole. Not saying everyone was like that, most weren’t, but I felt it a lot more In this city than others I have been to

Paris is so easily traversed by metro, bus and foot that there really are no “dead zones” to avoid when choosing where to stay during your visit. So long as you are near a metro station (and you will be), any arrondissement can suit you depending on your interests, budget and openness.

Neighborhood recommendation for homestays (2ème): I lived in the second arrondissement (deuxième/2ème), and it is my favorite. The second is the smallest arrondissement, sits just above Châtelet–Les Halles and home to many hip bars, restaurants and shops at varying price points. As there are no major landmarks and tourist attractions in the 2nd, you can think of it as a trendy bustling area with plenty of local charm without large crowds of tourists. Spend the afternoon strolling the pedestrian friendly Rue Montorgueil and Les Petits des Carreaux, which are both lined with some of the best bakeries, fruit stands, butcher shops and fromageries. Sip champagne at one of the many sidewalk cafes and spend an hour watching chic passersby. Prices vary but you can find great accommodations for reasonable Paris prices.

There aren’t many large or multinational hotels in the second (if any), but you will find smaller boutique hotels and a decent amount of homestay (Airbnb etc.) options. The second is literally one of Paris’s best kept secrets right under your nose.

Hotel recommendation (1ème): Without exception, Park Hyatt Paris – Vendôme is the hotel of choice for the most discerning luxury traveler. Park Hyatt Paris is a place to see and be seen but manages to still feel approachable. This is one of the hotels of choice for many during fashion week. I’ve enjoyed each visit here as the service, food/beverage and architecture are all to be commended. The rooms are lavishly appointed and fairly large by Paris standards. Prices are steep and vary but they tend to be around €850/~$900 during normal times. If you can swing it, stay here. You won’t regret it.

I’ve visited Paris several times and it never gets old. There are great bistros on just about every corner (give in and try escargot), the pastry shops are unparalleled, and there are so many nice bars and clubs. Paris gives you luxury shopping, beautiful scenery and tons of tourist attractions for the perfect insta shot. Paris also has a huge population of Africans and there’s a cool part of the city called “little Africa” that I highly advise you check out. It’s only about 5 miles from the Eiffel, and it offers some of the best authentic African food and shopping in the city. If you want to splurge on a meal, I suggest taking a dinner cruise. The food is amazing and you get a tour of the entire city in an untraditional way. Make some time for Paris on your next trip, it lives up to the hype!

I simply adore Paris. I have been numerous times but most recently discovered the joy of going as a solo traveller. Unfortunately I speak little to no French but this hasn’t hindered my experiences at all.
There is so much to see, do and experience: making a list and having a some sort of plan is highly recommended. Be a tourist and tick all the tourist things on your list, you won’t regret a single one.
I have always stayed in Airbnb’s in Paris and wouldn’t think of doing it any other way now. Districts 11 and 8 are great locations. Meeting local people, especially hosts is great and there are black hosts out there that make for an even better experience.
I would also highly recommend the Paris Airbnb experiences, again especially the ones run by local black guides and communities.
The city isn’t cheap but oh so worth it. The food and wine are devine and they have a massive speakeasy cocktail scene which is so much fun!

Paris alone is riddled has history but France as a whole is rich with it! From the renovation of the Palace of Versailles to the streets near the Arc de Triomphe. I also strongly recommend a wine tasting at O Chateau. You can call them at +33 1 44 739 780 and they are located 68 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 75001 Paris

There’s something magical about Paris, trust me I’m not even being dramatic. It’s one of my favorite European cities, especially when I choose to travel solo, since it’s very easy to move around in the city by using the metro.
Besides the Musée du Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Élysées, the Musée d’Orsée etc,… you can’t miss the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann.

Paris is THE PLACE to be if you are a solo traveler looking for adventure. I had an advantage given that I fluently speak french so it was easier to ask for directions and get around . But do not worry as it seems that most people have a good grasp of the english language and actually will seize the interaction/moment as an opportunity for them to practice. Paris has so much going for itself that the three days I spent there did not feel like enough to see it all. I would recommend making a list prioritizing both the restaurants, clubs/night scenes, and sites you would like to visit. Another tip would be to just book a tour via airbnb or Viator that will cover a good portion if not all of all the major landmarks and sites. As a solo traveler, I found it easy to navigate the city as I am used to riding the metro and bus in my own city here in the US.

If you are looking for an adventure then you’re in for a treat when visiting Paris. The city is not very big which makes getting around that much easier. There are so many historical landmarks and museums to visit, even getting lost is a great time. I can say this from first hand experience. If you have a trip coming up, try to plan a day full of activities because it won’t be hard to get from point A to point B. Some of my favorite activities were tours of The Eiffel tower, the Louvre Museum, and Musee D’orsay. I really wanted to check out the Catacombs of Paris with all the skulls in the underground ossuaries but we weren’t able to squeeze it in. There are plenty of good food spots around these landmarks too.

I wasn’t a big fan of France, but it wasn’t too bad. There’s definitely a lot of touristy things to do and see so that’s a plus, and the food is okay. When I visited the Eiffel Tower I felt like I was in a foreign NY. There were people trying to sell fake designer stuff and toys, and groups of little kids begging for money. Not what I was expecting at all. Once I got to the top of the tower though the view was breathe taking and I forget all about the hassle. I visited the Louvre Museum. Honestly, it’s just like every other museum here in America besides the fact that the Mona Lisa is in there. The Mona Lisa is also overhyped. There were so many people crowded around just to see that very tiny picture. Overall the only thing that I really loved about France was the shopping.

This past summer I visited Paris, France for my annual family trip. We stayed between Districts 1 and 2. It was the perfect area because we were able to walk everywhere. (To food, lounges, and The Louvre)

We were a train ride away from the Eiffel Tower as well.

Paris was definitely a chill place and a good place to go if you want to be touristy.

The next time I visit I would definitely like to enjoy the nightlife since I was traveling with my baby, I couldn’t go out too much and enjoy the city.

I spent one day and night scaling as much of the Parisian experience as I could. I explored the Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe de l’Etoile, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Moulin Rouge, and walked along the Seine River. I ate at a couple Cafés In Monte Marte which were not bad. Good polite service from the waiters/waitresses. They accommodated my lack of French and gladly spoke perfect English.

I ended up staying in an Airbnb Hotel (11 Rue Burq, 75018 Paris, France) in Monte Marte not far from Moulin Rouge. It was cozy, $82, the host was very responsive, i was not overwhelmed with downtown noise, and morning continental breakfast was served. It was also close to the metro station. I was able to walk five minutes to the station, take the metro to the main station to buy a ticket back to Germany, and get home to Kaiserslautern within a couple hours. I definitely needed more time in Paris but over in the Moulin Rouge area, you can get last minute hostels and airbnb hotels for reasonable prices.

I do not speak any French besides a polite “Oui” or “bonjour” yet still, I decided to go to Paris for alone for a long weekend for a bit of adventure. I used google translate alot to help me stay in good graces with the French. Most times initial conversation started with a “Bonjour, je parle anglais” and I honestly feel that the effort of greeting in French, although asking for English, made our exchange alot more pleasant than it might have been, based on respect alone.
I stayed in the 1st arr in a boutique hotel call Au Pacific Hotel. The front desk staff were proficient in English. My standard room was compact but lacked nothing. I was located centrally and was able to walk to the Eiffel tower and find boulangeries (Bakeries) on almost every corner. I travelled in the midst of the protest but was only directly affected by that when trying to uber from site to site in the afternoons. Paris is well layed out and its quite difficult to get lost since the street signs are also written in English language. Getting around was relatively cheap outside of using uber. The Metro and Bus cost 1.60 euro per trip although most people seem to get around on scooter, bike or mo-ped.

If visiting the Louvre museum , please be prepared to spend up to 10mins in a line just to see the Mona Lisa! The views of the Eiffel Tower from Place du Trocadero are awesome and if you have an eye for angles, its worth a try to get a shot of the sinking house at Montparnasse next to the amazing Basilique du Sacre-Coeur Cathedral. There’s also a little town behind the Cathedral where you can have Street sketch their artistic impression of you on the spot. I did not get to complete my to-do list because there was so much to do and the protests and road closures hindered my mobility a bit but Paris is definitely not a one time trip so I’ll be able to complete my list on a subsequent trip!

I’ve been to Paris on 2 separate occasions. Once in April 2017 and more recently in May 2019. I’ve never spent more than 72 hours at a time in Paris and haven’t done the same thing twice. On our first trip, my best friend and I did all the typical touristy things, dinner cruise on the Seine River, dinner in the Eiffel Tower, tour of the Louvre, shopping on the Champs Elysees, a ride on the Roue de Paris, visited Notre Dame Cathedral, toured Versailles Palace and stuffed ourselves with crepes, macaroons and croissants. We pretty much did all of that in 48 hours. I highly suggest moving on to another city by train. We’ve been to Annecy, Reims, Epernay and Hautvillers. Also Giverny for a day trip to see Claude Monet’s house and garden. History buffs will love Paris. Art lovers will too. Paris is honestly the city of love. You see so many couples very openly affectionate towards one another. My last time in Paris was for friend’s a wedding at the city hall. We were there for less than a day and toured Moulin Rouge the night before the wedding. The city is very easy to explore on foot, but the metro system can get you anywhere and makes more sense than the MTA system in NYC. Also Uber is available but kinda pricey. Paris is ridiculously picturesque. Great for IG photoshoots. English is very widely spoken there. But for godsake try to learn some simple phrases, the French respect you more if you try, at least in my experience.

There is so much to do in Paris that two days was not enough. I will say that it is expensive but it’s Paris so I’ll probably end up going back since I’ve seen the attractions, I can spend more time exploring and eating. There is a place called Le Relais de l’Entrecote it was so good, they only serve steak and fries. I was told they keep the fries coming but surprisingly they also kept the steak coming. The sauce doesn’t look that good but it was very good. Of course, find a good bakery and try some croissants, macarons, and baguettes but I also recommend trying some sables. They come with fruit or chocolate fillings and taste so good. The lady gave me some extra cookies for free that were also very good.

Paris was honestly one of the best cities I’ve ever visited. I travel for work and leisure quite a bit and recently spent 3 days in Paris with family. We visited all the popular sites such as Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the Arc de Triomphe. However, I highly recommend visiting the Chateau de Versailles. The views from the garden and the history there is breathtaking. It takes about an hour or so from Paris to visit this palace depending on where you’re staying but it’s well worth the trip. Also, I recommend getting there early and purchasing tickets before hand

My husband and I traveled to Paris from Sunday- Sunday over Christmas 2019 and I must say it is a love filled city and we are all over each other . The city is beautiful and so many things to do . We visited the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Sienne, Sacre Coure, Grand Palace, Arc of Triomphe, Champ Elysees for shopping, love lock bridge, and more. There was a lot of walking but we didn’t mind. So many variety of ways to get around so the Strike going on had no effect on us. The people are lovely and very fashionable and makes you really want to come with the fashion. It helps to ha e a translator app as the language barrier was a small issue . The city is amazing I cried while seeing the Eiffel Tower light up its truly a site to see. A tip I would give is book all tickets in advance to avoid long lines. We waited no where. Also the Cory tour busses are helpful for navigating the city and finding the hot spots. Being black while visiting didn’t bother anyone . The French respect there culture and are polite as long as you respect there culture as well. It’s helpful to know the basics of French language while visiting. We will definitely visit again

My husband and I visited Paris November 2019 for his birthday. It was a quick trip from Thursday until Monday, we stayed at a decent 3 star boutique hotel called Hôtel Libertel Gare de L’Est Français near the public subway system. We did ALOT of walking so being comfortable shoes. We stayed quite a distance from the Eiffel Tower tower we caught the subway system there. We were able to go to the top after a short wait in line although I’d recommend purchasing tickets online, we had tapas and drinks at the little restaurant at the Tower. We walked to the Champs-Élysées area to shop and eat, again lots of walking. But there’s so much to see and do! I would have to say the highlight of the trip was taking my husband to dinner at THE CUTEST family owned oyster bar called Langousta Passy, it was a wonderful dining experience!! Not only was the food great, we had a cold seafood tower with various offerings. The ambiance, hostess (Chef/Owner’s lovely wife) the Chef, staff and patrons contributed to a birthday my husband will never forget. We had great conversations, a concert and they even sang my husband Happy Birthday (Stevie Wonder version). When in Paris Langousta Passy is a MUST VISIT!

The night life in Paris is amazing, the city lights, the clubs, bars and restaurants are beautiful but it’s good to know the basic french or have a french speaking associate with you. Also you have to visit the Louvre, Effiel tower at night is brilliant, the Arc, the restaurants you should visit are beef bar near champs elysees, Astair, Joia, and Girafe and the night clubs are Supersonic and La Bellevilloise

paris was by far my favorite city i had the best time ever! Maybe because it was my dream destination. This was a really high end trip for me so I’m probably not the best to give you advice on how to make your dollar go far. The food for me was the best part it was fantastic. I ate at all the little street shops but sadly I don’t remember the names of some. I also tried snail for the first time which is their specialty so you should definitely try it! To get a nice view of the tower you can have dinner at the peninsula hotel which was also where i stayed. Nobody really cared that i was black honestly and what i was most shocked about is almost everybody i interacted with spoke English to me so communication wasn’t a problem.

Paris Paris Paris! Literally every meal we ate there was amazing! I don’t know if that is the case with everyone. 10th arrondissement is famous for Indian food so if you love Indian food, I’ll recommend there! Bontemps Paris in the 3rd arrondissement if you love a good tea time. Hollybelly for the brunch of life! And the tasting menu at Caillebotte is just amazing!

The history is PARIS is amazing! I went to the Louvre Museum and saw the Mona Lisa! The Louve Museum was the best and biggest museum I have been to! Well it is the worlds largest museum so I guess I couldn’t of went to a bigger one lol. The Louvre was originally built as a fortress in 1190, but was reconstructed in the 16th century to serve as a royal palace! The Louvres collection includes Egyptian antiques, Ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, paintings by the Old Masters and Crown Jewels and other artifacts from French nobles. The Mona Lisa was painting between 1503 and 1517 by Leonardo Da Vinci. Mona Lisa is famous for an optical illusion aka ‘the mysterious smile.’ So much history, paintings and sculptures under one roof!

Paris can still be enjoyed even if you only have a short amount of time! Heres my tips on how to get the best out of the city on a short break:

    – Shopping
Le Puces flea market in Clignancourt is the biggest of it’s kind. It has a variety of vintage items like clothing, jewellery and furniture. I go to Paris every year for work, and as a designer, my company makes sure I visit this market for the best vintage designer inspiration.

    – River Seine
In the summer months locals tend to hang out on the river banks drinking and playing music. The river runs all through the city. It’s such a chilled atmosphere, I would definitely spend an evening after dinner chilling out on the river with some drinks.

    – Musée du Louvre
The museum houses world famous works, and has an African art section downstairs. Get there in the morning and take a picture with the Mona Lisa, and walk the halls Louis XIV once strolled. The most visited museum in world used to be the Royal Palace.

When I first arrived to Paris i used this uber and we became friends and he is like family now. I highly recommend speaking to him as he knows the city well and does Airport transfers (Ayme Chaibi +33 6 51 71 75 68 email: Fakerchaibi@gmail.com)

Paris is my second home and I always love coming back. So recommendations are of course Eiffel tour (climb the stairs for a bit of exercise), or plan a picnic on the lawn and watch the light show on the hour starting at sunset (its free!)

The louvre( if you’re a student or under 26 you can get discounted tickets, and if its the last three hours its also discounted…a lot of tourist attractions are free on the first Sunday of the month: The Louvre, Musée Rodin, Musée Picasso, Musée d’Orsay so if you happen to be there at this time voilà!

Paris is also a city about relaxing and enjoying good food, exploring local markets, reading a book by the canal St Martin or taking a stroll in a parque. But if you are short on time I have put some recommendations by area (arrondissement) as this is the easiest way to see major attractions. Start inward in the 1st where champs élysée is located and spiral outward.

    Paris Itinerary:
    (20-50minutes away)
    Day or half day trip:
    Versailles(half day)
    Provins(half day)
    vaux le vitcome (half day)
chataeu fountainbleu (half day) Etaplés(day trip only) its 3 hours from Paris
Abby St Michel, 6 hours away overnight trip
    Eurodisney full day

    Within Paris:
Jardin de promenade. walk the rooftop foot trail along from Bastille to nation (nation is the central metro hub for most lines)
    * visit confiture parisenne for freshly made jams and watch how they make it behind the glass window
-If you’re at the Pompidou, try Robert et Louis (in la Marais)
-Grande Mosquée de Paris(cafe for breakfast and tour the mosque for free)
    -hammam on tues for ladies
    -Parc Monseau
    -Marché d’Aligre market
    -parc de bercy
    -buddist temple

    St. Germain
    ( shopping and couture goods)
    -marche aux puces saint touen
    (local market)

-Eva Eriksson, can make your own French couture perfume(infos@eva-eriksson.com)

    Montmartre:
-Montmartre, Sacre Coeur (look for “la passé-le Muraille” the man passing through the wall)
    ~the wall of love
~stroll through the Nelson Mandela jardin
~Dalí museum is also in Montmartre
    -Catacombes

    Central:
    –Notre Dame
    -Pont de l’Archevêché bridge
-St Chapelle: the stain glass is beautiful!
    -arc de triomphe
-place de la concorde, champs Elysee

    Latin Quarter:
    -Pantheon
    -street graffiti

    Food recommendations:
    Chatime: boba tea
    -La Relais Gascon
-La Guillotine Pub / Le Caveau des Oubliettes
    -52, Rue Galande, 75005 Paris
    Jazz bar with absinthe

FUN FUN FUN! Wouldn’t stay in Paris for more than 4 days, but definitely a site to see! Loads of adventure, local food, and shopping to enjoy. Night life is fun…my ultimate hidden shopping charm is called “LA RUE DU COMMERCE“ it’s near the Eiffel Tower. Cute boutiques, and you can sit in the sidewalk for coffee/tea At the outdoor cafes. Perfect for photo opportunities! “Monoprix” is also near Eiffel Tower (would likely be compared to American “Target”) you can find anything you left behind in America here!

Paris was full of rich history. Must see’s the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and Palace of Versailles. Tip: Get to the Louvre an hour or so before opening time. I was the 3rd person in line and was able to get a front row view of the Mona Lisa. The Louvre typically opens at 9am. We arrived between 745-8am. You can pass the time by getting great pictures. Everyone heads directly to the Mona Lisa, so if you can look for those signs immediately, or ask one of the security guards outside.

We also did a dinner boat cruise. The scenery was amazing. you can expect some pretty good food (the best food i had on the trip), and a full bar. Cost was around $77 USD/person.

    24 hours in Paris:
Day 1: Go see the eiffel tower, try go early as it does it get crowded and the less people in your shot the better! Try book in advance if you would like to go up the tower as it does get full and the lines get horrific! If you dont manage to go up the Eiffel tower than go up the Arc de Triomphe and theres also a view of the city from up there. After this you can go see the Louvre Musuem or Notre Dam. If you want a fuller view of the city there are boat trips that you can book for the afternoon or night time. If you dont do a night cruise then have sundowners in the Seine! Its literally by the park looking at the eiffel tower (yes it legal to do this here) and theres vendors selling wine all over the place for about 10 euros.

I absolutely love Paris! The last time I went was with my sister en route from our grandpa’s funeral in Nigeria. So you can imagine how downcast our spirits would be. Our Parisian break was intended to be a relaxing escape from the intense emotions we were feeling and boy did Paris deliver. The people were so welcoming, the air felt good, the pastries and coffee were MUAH!! The city wasn’t as busy as you would expect. This is most likely due to our visit in late November. We stayed in a boutique hotel in the city and if we weren’t walking, we used Uber to get to most of our destinations. We really just took it easy the two days we were there. We strolled around the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, The Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees while stopping at corners for crepes or coffee. I absolutely loved the flower shops and grocery stores selling fruit outside on the streets.

Paris is officially my new favourite city in the world (this may change with upcoming travels)!
Paris as a city offers alot more than what is just captured in beautiful instgram pictures , and whilst there are a tonne of picture worthy places, the real charm of Paris is the beauty of the city and the diversity of its inhabitants.

Getting around Paris is fairly easy and can be affordable, depending on when and where you are going. We used the metro quite often. I would suggest downloading a Paris metro app so that you have a general overview of the system and you can plot your route. Google maps also works pretty well and if you get lost(like we did) you can often show a local and they will tell you which side of the metro line you should be on. I’d also advise purchasing a pack of 10 tickets if you’re planning to use the metro as this is the most affordable option.
Uber taxis are also available in Paris, and they are decently priced, however, traffic can be a nightmare so this may not always be your fastest option.

    THINGS TO DO;
    1. Eiffel Tower – ofcourse a visit to Paris would be complete without this iconic building. If you would like to go up the tower I would suggest purchasing your ticket from the official website. Slots later in the evening (9pm onwards) are actually ideal because it isn’t so crowded and you get to enjoy the city lights from above. The garden beneath the Eiffel tower is open to the public and you can enter without a ticket, there is a cute duck pond. For the best views and pictures of the tower, Jardins du Trocadero is a perfect spot. There are often street artists and dancers performing and you can have a picnic while you watch the Eiffel Tower light up.
    2. Champs d’Elysses and Arc du Triomphe – The Arc is absolutely amazing. You can opt to go to teh top of the Arc which provides great views of Paris. The famous street is quite nearby and it’s a great place to take an afternoon stroll or have a cup of tea.
    3. Musee du Louvre – one of the most famous museums in the world and the horrendous lines outside are testament to this. As I am not a huge art fan, I didnt bother trying to get inside, however, the external part of the museum was still worth the view, especially the well known pyramid entrance.
    4. Notre Dame – unfortunately, due to the fire damage the cathedral has been closed of to the public. You can still get pictures of the structure from the bridge nearby. Despite the barricades, it is still worth visiting.
    5. The Pantheon – originally built as a church, this building now acts as a mausoleum for some of the most distinguished French citizens. The beautiful architecture is worth seeing. If you aren’t too interested in the history, it’s still a beautiful building worth admiring.
Whilst in this area, you can walk around and see an ancient library (Genevieve library) as well as the University of Paris. This area is bustling with students and locals and it gives you a real feel for Parisienne life.
    6. Sainte-Chapelle – one of the most beautiful cathedrals ever!! The stained glass in the chapel makes the walk up the stairs worth it.
    7. Sacre Coeur and Montmarte district – the basilica on the hill has some of thee most spectacular views of Paris !!! The basilica is absolutely beautiful inside and you can light a candle and say a prayer for a loved on. Entrance here is free. The area surrounding the basilica is also quite lovely , with cafes and souvenier shops with prices lower than what you would see in central Paris. This is definitely worth visiting !!

Overall, Paris is a beautiful city, one that I personally felt is best enjoyed whilst on foot. Every street has it’s own style and the beautiful buildings make it all the more worthwhile. I would advise learning a few french phrases before visiting as I believe this would help you with getting around.

NBl BEWARE OF PICK POCKETS!! I caught a girl trying to pick pocket my mum in the metro station as we were trying to get on to the train.

While visiting Paris with my bestie, we had an interesting experience as black women. First off, the men were very aggressive. We were approached several times walking the streets. Men catcalled from their cars. It was Pepe le Pew harassment from every shade of man. While taking the train, a man asked me if I was black African. I’m pretty light skin but I guess we stood out. I said yes. He was from the middle east and said that he liked Black Africans.
I was surprised by how many Africans live in Paris. I told visited an artist friend that lives in Paris originally from Togo. He introduced us to his friends at a rooftop party filled with beautiful black people. Probably the best party I’ve ever been to. We went to a rooftop called Sur le Toit. The DJ played hip hop, R&B, old school, reggae and African music. I had never slow danced to African music. I never slow dance at all in the US. But everyone was feeling it and it was a total vibe.

My first trip to Paris was so rushed that my husband and I needed a do over. Our second trip was sooo much better with a dinner cruise on the Rhineland-Palatinate enjoying many of the sights from the water. Also did the Hop On Hop Off bus tour. But, the city was just so crowded. Summer just isn’t the best time to visit.

    Here are a couple tips:
1, Try and learn some basic french and attempt to speak it. I honestly think this is the reason why I’ve never had a bad encounter with the french. My mostly failed attempts at trying to hold a conversation in french broke the ice and we would laugh and get to know each other. I think it’s just common courtesy to at least try and speak the native tongue of wherever place you visit.
2, Travelling off season is obviously more relaxing and cheaper.

    Love, love and again love
To me Paris is two things: romance and the Louvre. Romance seems to permeate the city. A walk along the Seine at night. A view of the Eiffel Tower. A view of the city from Sacré Coeur in Montmartre. Or nice romantic dinner in some small side street near Moulin Rouge. If you want to spend a romantic weekend with someone then Paris is the right place.
To especially appreciate Paris you need to have a wonderful view of the city. Here is a list of places with the best views of Paris
    1. Sacré Coeur in Montmartre
    2. Notre Dame’s tower
    3. Commanding views from the Tour Montparnasse (skyscraper in Paris)
    4. Arc de Triomphe
Now I do not need to explain in much detail the importance of the Louvre. Only the most important art museum in the world. I can spend days there. You need to be selective when visiting the Louvre
Remember two things though when visiting Paris. There are long lines to climb the Eiffel Tower and to get into the Louvre. Plan accordingly.
Also do not forget to visit Versailles when you visit Paris. No trip to Paris is complete without visiting it.

Paris is one of my favorite European cities. The first time I did Paris I did not have a pleasant experience. But the 2nd time I went, I had a blast. First of all there is so much to do. So many tours and so much to see. I used Airbnb to find most of my activities. The have boat tours, wine tours, cooking classes, you name it. I didn’t pay more than $60 (that was my max) for any particular activity. Museums, big and small are all through the city. The famous Louvre is the biggest museum in the world and it costs about $70 for the guided tour or you can do like me and pay about $20 and figure it out on your own. Lol There’s lots of luxury shopping and shopping for those on a budget like I was. Haha I liked the local dishes, but I loved the local desserts and pastries. *Travel tip* Don’t ever eat at any restaurant in a tourist spot like near the Eiffel Tower or Louvre because chances are they are NOT authentic French restaurants and they hike up the menu prices to goop tourist.

Traveling (while black) in Paris is ehhh… some people are welcoming and some are not. I didn’t think of it as racism as much as I thought of it as French culture. I definitely recommend going to all the famous monuments and museums that we learn about in grade school but be careful of the street hustlers. Don’t buy anything from them. The price is hiked up x3 or more compared to a non-tourist spot. Paris is a romantic city, so if you’re off the market, take your lover with.

Go see the palace of Versailles and the lovure it’s a must! The boat ride was a fun experience as well. Although I went alone, I got a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower ( At the dock it starts there) and it takes you down the heart of Paris. It passes the Norte dame and other monuments. The boat ride was about 20 euros and was very flexible. A website you can go to is. I don’t remember the exact website I went to but this is a great example.

Paris reminded me of New York a bit. I loved everything about it. With a little research you can discover that a lot of the famous tours are free on certain days. The little mom and pop restaurants are amazing!! The Eiffel Tower is beautiful in the evening. I stayed in the 18th arrondissement. If you want to live like a local, I recommend the 18th arr. :)

Paris! Speaks for itself right?! I wanted to provide some tips that went beyond the “Louvre & Eiffel Tower” areas. Nightlife: If you are younger and looking for adventure and new experience. I would recommend staying in the Red Light District. TRAVELING while black: My friend and I stayed at Hotel Sacha. It was run by an all black staff. The rooms are very small, but clean, comfortable, and accommodating. The staff even arranged for my taxi at 3 AM for an early flight. There are tons of restaurants and a few clubs ( ex. Carmen) that stay open til 6 AM! The Moulin Rouge is a must see if you are into shows. They have great dinner and drink packages. This area is full of life and young people. The metro is nearby and easy to navigate. WARNING: There are several “adult” shops and prostitutes in the area. you will most likely receive offers from men and women. They are not extremely aggressive though. The red light district is in a perfect location and very alive at ALL times of the day and night.

This is a place i think every person I know that has been to and says it did not live up to the hype or they would never go back. I definitely suggest visiting but it’s just the hype for this city is so high your expectations aren’t exceeded. The local food is crepes and if your not big into the sweets not much to be appreciated.. but this is my opinion.. the night life on the other hand is definitely dope and fashion is top tier as well

I absolutely fell in love with Paris. A little research can go a long way. Initially I was going to book the hop on hop off bus but it was a bit pricy for my budget. I ended up using the subway which turned out to be very easy and convinient. On the first day I only need to visit one place so I bought two single tickets which cost me €3.80. The next day I planned on visiting a couple of places so I got the Mobilis ticket which you can use multiple times for 24hrs. It cost me €7.50. Now I don’t know about you but it seemed like a sweet deal to me. Another option is to buy 10 single tickets which can be shred among friends. It’s called a carnet and it costs €14.90. Be aware of pickpockets though coz the train are packed during rush hour

Paris is one of the easiest places to travel I’ve found while black due to the huge numbers of immigrants from Francophone Africa and the French Caribbean, I felt no different to being back at home so issues in terms of stares or encountering overt racism from locals. But they generally tend to not strong English so be weary of that. To get the true black Francophone experience for nightlife, go out to 911 club on a Saturday where they have play both French and English Hip Hop Dancehall and Afrobeats genres as well as Zouk.

Who doesn’t love Paris! Can’t say how much I enjoyed my stay. We stayed 3 days and I can’t wait to go back. We visited The Eiffel Tower, the louvre and Champs Elysees to name a few. We stayed at the melia Notre Dame which was about 5 min walk from the metro and within walking distance of most the the attractions.

Officially one of my favorite places to visit! My mom and I decided to ditch the turkey and spent 5 days in Paris during thanksgiving 2018 and it was one of the best decision I’ve ever made! Although the city can be a bit expensive with several designer/luxury shops and European value added tax it was all worth it. In order to save money while also indulging in all this beautiful city has to offer I had to come up with a game plan (budget) prior to my visit and do my best best to stick to it. Instead of dinning at fancy restaurants my mom and I ate a local coffee shops and cafe’s which was great because not only did we save money but we also experienced the ways the locals ate (seated outside in the winter weather under uheat lamps drinking coffee and eating French bread). We also saved money by visiting different attractions as early as possible which helped us avoid higher rates for Uber and Taxi’s. Paris is amazing, for those contemplating visiting, it’s all worth it.

I really enjoyed Paris, although I went with my best friend I could feel the romantic vibes. I think it’s a good place for adventure as there is lots to do. As a city I would say the people are very welcoming, which is more than I can say for Berlin. Me and my friend were so indecisive about whether to climb the Eiffel tower during the day or night but chose at night and it was an beautiful experience we could see the whole city. We visited the Lourve museum which the aesthetics were on point. For non-tourist spots visit Galerie Bartoux (if you are into art) it has some dope pieces of art and a bar called FAT if you like hip hop and rnb which had these painting on artist’s such as Notorious B.I.G and 2pac. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the electric scooters that we saw everyone using around the city, looked so fun but will defo be going back.

PARIS! I love Paris, this was my first Solo trip in June 2018. I do not think I planned it well, but I have always wanted to go to Paris but no one to go with. Well, I finally made it down to Paris and it is an absolutely great city, loads of things to see; the louvre, the padlock bridge, the arc, the museums, the Eiffel, cute little coffee shops, shopping, and just walking around enjoying the ambiance. You do not need to know how to speak/understand French however it will be a major plus if you do. Most French do speak English, but I loved it, it is a romantic city and I will be going back because I do not think I did as many things as I could have done. So visit France and follow me on ig: @girlandaplane

I visited Paris in late November 2018. The weather was not too cold around this time. On average, it stayed in the mid 60s. This was great because I was able to get out and comfortably enjoy the city. I stayed at Hotel des Deux Continents. This was a small boutique hotel located in the St. Germaine area, and 14.9 miles away from the airport. I had a six night stay for two adults for $970. This hotel does have a small elevator that’s not included in the price. So if you want to have access to the elevator, you must select the room with the lift. The rooms were really small, which was to be exacted in Europe. However, it was really clean and the beds were very comfortable. The area was awesome. There were resturants, bars, shopping, and public transportation all within walking distance. Uber is also available for use as well. I’d def recommend this place for anybody that plans on being out a lot and wants someplace comfortable to stay without breaking the bank!

I visited Paris for 5 days and absolutely loved it! No brainer that the Eiffel Tower is a must visit. It’s even more beautiful at night when it’s lit up and at the top of every hour it sparkles. A lot of people bring a blanket, a bottle of wine, and snacks to chill out on the lawn in the park in front of the tower to hang out and mesmerize over the views. You also cannot go to Paris without checking out the Mona Lisa at the Lourve. I didn’t have time to take a tour of the huge museum, so I just paid admission and went straight to find Mona Lisa. Instead of waiting in the long line at the main entrance, there’s a way to get directly into the Lourve underground via the metro; it’ll save you a lot of time! There are TONS of people crowded around to see such a small picture and to get to the front you’ll have to slip and slide your way through the crowd. The painting is super small and not that impressive in person, but I guess it’s nice to be able to say you saw the Mona Lisa. Walking up the Arc de Triomphe and strolling down Champs Elysee are also must do’s! If you have time, you definitely have to book a tour to The Palace of Versailles! The grounds of the palace and the palace itself are absolutely beautiful! It’s technically not in Paris, but it’s about a short 30minutes away.

Taking a walk or boat trip along the Siene River is very nice. A lot of Parisians hang out in this area to drink wine and socialize. Honestly, just walking around Paris at night is amazing itself, the architecture of the buildings is to die for!

Parisians have a reputation for being rude, but I did not have this experience while in Paris. I find that if you initially greet them with “Bonjour” before starting conversation and at least try to speak a little French, they are a lot more friendly.

I traveled to Paris July 2017, during their Independence Day. I used a travel agent for this trip, which was about $1300 total for room, flight and 3 attractions. If you’re a historian or fun fact type of person, I recommend attending all of the museums. When visiting the museum be sure to allot 3-4 hours for a full visit. Please be advised that the people aren’t that friendly but they don’t mean any offense by it (my mom didn’t know that beforehand and wasn’t too happy with them). Overall, I absolutely loved Paris and its histrionic attractions.

Paris is a beautiful city and was my 1st BUCKETLIST Destination in 2007! This place is beautiful and is known for of Course, The Eiffel Tower & the Lourve!
I would suggest take a bike tour to get a gist of the place and go and venture out! Also be sure to take the train , but be careful! Be careful of pick-pocketors! I took a night train from Munich to Paris and slept with one eye open!
Places I would recommend are: Eiffel Tower, Lourve, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge Disney World!
This place is a must on EVERYONES bucket list especially if you are apart of the BeeHive !

Beautiful city, but very old and dirty. It gives it personality. The Eiffel, Musee and the Louvre are incredible to visit. There is also a very rich African/Senegalese culture there too. Make sure to explore that as well!

Paris is metropolitan city. The train takes you everywhere. The system also isn’t hard to maneuver. You can download an app if you don’t want to walk around with a map to look like a tourist (that’s the New Yorker in me) but take the train. Pay for the week’s worth of metro card and take the train. Just be aware that metro shuts down at 12.

Food: french food is everywhere but you can also found african italian japanese food. And price varies from budget to luxury

The City of Lights is beautiful at night. If you’re a little hesitant to travel to Paris because of the language barrier DO NOT let that stop you as many of the people there know English fluently or at the very least know enough where you can figure out what the other is trying to say. Even though there are people who speak English at the very least ATTEMPT to speak some French and it will go a long way. Paris is very dirty so save the new shoes.

We stayed Hotel Mercure Paris Porte De Pantin for around 100 Euros. The best advice I can give is make sure you have google maps and google translate on your phone and you’ll be extremely grateful that you did. They have a subway system but we used it a lot less than in London. The best way to experience the Eiffel Tower is at night when it is all lit up and if you’re there near the top of the hour you may catch the light show. We caught the light show around 7pm. 7th arr is a great view for pictures.

Another great view is Palais de Challiot. There are usually local musicians playing here. Another must do while in Paris is to check out the Lourve. Although we didn’t find out until that day, the 1st Friday of every month there is free admission to the museum (but be warned the lines are insane so you may want to see if you can reserve tickets online or just get there insanely early). If you miss this, purchase your tickets online and set an early arrival time especially if you want to see the Mona Lisa. The single tickets are 19 Euros/person.

The Arc de Triumphe is a great place to have a photo op. You can actually venture to the middle of the road and get in a line to get a perfect picture in front of it if you don’t have the time or want to pay to travel to the top of it.

There is great shopping to do in Paris, but if you want a one-stop shop to get a little of everything you should definitely check out Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. There is a rooftop here for you to take pictures and get a view of the city. It’s free! If you decide to take a stroll down the River Siene, make sure you have a jacket or sweater because the breeze off the water gets very chilly and windy at night (we were there in February/early March).

If you have a chance, take a day trip to Versailles; that’s one thing I wish we had more time to do. There’s a certain vibe in Paris that makes this a great place to go with your significant other.

Tips: Order Euros before you travel. Be a local! Stay closer to the city center. Please do attempt to speak French! Use Google Translate to learn basic phases and words. Purchase tickets from a person for the Subway system and train. Maybe around 15 Euros. It’s literally a small ticket that you have to insert every time so keep it somewhere safe. Paris is zoned so make sure you grab a map and ask questions if the stop seems really far out. Watch your surroundings!

Overall it was good. We stayed for 3 days. I would say that’s long enough

Overall experience in Paris was ok.. There is a large presence of people from africa in paris and alot of them know french.. In my experience not knowing french made people treat me different.. even the the other people of color. They immediately get annoyed with you or with trying to explain things even though they know you are a tourist.. TIP: If you do not know french try to touch up on some basic words an phrases before you get there.. or have a translator ready (google translate app is what I use).. Clubs are fun but bartenders were rude to me when they realized i didnt know french an they had to find someone else to translate to me I went to Le Hobo they played cool french hiphop music, reggae and afrobeats.. restaurant waitors were a little friendler but have a natural snotty-ness to them.. another tip is it is good to have Euros in hand alot of the little activites like going to the catacombs or entering the eiffel tower take cash ??

Paris is a great place to visit. There’s lots to do from sightseeing, shopping and fancy restaurants. It’s easy to travel around the city by train or bus. However, I was told by police to keep my things close by me because there’s pick-pocketers out there. Shopping was my favorite part, great prices on designer items. If your looking for to spend on high-end items, Paris is definitely the place to go.
    1)Place you must see:
    Eiffel Tower
    Scared Heart
    Montmartre
    Versailles
    Louvre
    Norte Dame
    2) If you don’t enjoy being cold do not travel here during Jan-March it’s very cold here
    3) Dont give money to women in the streets with clipboards asking you to donate to deaf people, it’s illegal and I’ve witness police throwing away their papers and breaking their pens

    1. Bonjour! – Speak French
Only if it’s just a few words, try to have with you a few words written or memorized with you.
It does not matter if you think you sound ‘silly’, I felt that the Parisians appreciated when I made an effort to speak in French.

    2. Invest in an international data plan makes it easier to trabslate and get around

    3. Paris Day Pass

Expensive? A little, but for me it was worth it because it’s a good way to get to the ‘hot spots’ for free or at a good price, use the ‘Hop-on-Hop-off’ tour bus which is a super good way to get familiarized with upon your arrival. It also includes an unlimited pass for the metro (2 to 5 days). Personally, this option was totally worth it because it helped me get everywhere and great if you want to have your Parisian experience

This pass also has tickets for more than 60 tourist sites (except the Eiffel Tower).

    4. Have a true French experience
I decided to look for local activities, not just tourist activities, like an art exhibition by a local artist from Paris (EVERYTHING was in French), went to coffee shops and tried their coffee, took the metro, spoke with the locals in French (I tried haha) and I feel this gave my visit a unique experience.

    5. Must see:
You can not go to Paris without experiencing the Eiffel Tower. You can go to Trocadéro to have a spectacular view of the tower. Seeing the tower at night is also a mesmerizing.
Also: Louvre, Versailles, Any local art gallery.

Paris is dope! The atmosphere alone feels dreaming. It’s great a girls trip or solo trip or trip with bae.

First arrival I went to Cafe Duex Margot fancy fancy but the food was well worth it. The food and Paris! You will neeeeever go hungry. U must try Angelina’s the hot chocolate is the best. Thick and strong. Pierre Hermès is another great dessert bar. They have a location along Champs Elysees.
Another food option… Chartier. It’s a classic French restaurant that can give you your foie gras and escargot fix. Le Relais de l’Entrecote is a steak frites fix. The lines grow in the evening. Try to make it in the early parts of the evening.

    Place you must see:
    Eiffel Tower
    Scared Heart
    Montmartre
    Versailles
    Louvre

Being black while in Paris does not seem far fetched but being black in Paris seemed odd. Everyone kept staring at us as if blacks don’t live there. Even the black people were looking at us as if we were the first escaped blacks. Almost like a scene from Get Out. Besides that Paris is dope and it’s a must see and must eat trip.

Paris, to ME, was amazing! I’ve read a lot about how Paris is disappointing to a lot of people but for me it was great. Disclaimer: it is expensive! Euros will always mean lots of USD will be spent! But you don’t have to! Uber and taxis are the mode of transportation , but there is a transit system! It is all in French but it is color coded. Just download the Paris map for offline usage, write down directions while on Wi-Fi, and you will be fine, and its only one euro! And obviously it drops off right by the local tourist spots. Also book your hotel in the city ahead of time, and on one of those discount websites! I did a lot of random site-seeing and events in Paris since I knew you wouldn’t have to plan much while there. There is a Segway tour there that I wish I had done and would recommend, since that is an American company and would be in English. Other than that I would not recommend strictly planning anything. There are cafe’s everywhere, food everywhere, culture and tourist attractions everywhere. Download the Translate app and respect the language barrier. The natives understand tourists need regardless of the language barrier, just be respectful! The city is very diverse, and laid back. There are numerous French speaking black people, including a huge neighborhood of people with Afro descent. I visited the Eiffel Tower a few times, the shopping district in Champs-Élysées, Notre Dame, and the Louvre Museum. The Louvre was amazing and the tickets can be purchased online ahead of time. Be prepared to walk a lot, and take lots of pictures. There were not too many bars, but lots of clubs. When you book your hotel I recommend looking at the clubs nearby and plan to go to those. The hotel we stayed in was the Citizen M, and it is actually a small worldwide chain. English was used by most of the hotel staff.
*Major tip: Beware of the tourist traps around the Eiffel Tower. There are a lot of vendors and it is awesome to shop with a few of them, but where we, and Ive heard many tourists go wrong is those little bicycle group rides around the area. They offer you an affordable price, but at the end of the ride its an astronomical price! And they demand payment! Just avoid those rides altogether, or be prepared to pay up to 100 euros for a bike ride around the block.

Paris is very vast and there’s quite a bit to see and do during the day and at night.

I enjoyed walking around and going on the terraces of some of the buildings to get a different perspective of the city. You can try Parc des Buttes-Chaumont which is a beautiful park on the opposite side of the city, Le Printemps department store or the Institute Du Monte Arabe. You can go up the Eiffel Tower as well, but the others are free and although not as high, still offer a nice view of the city.

In the evening you should try and find the one of the secret bars in the city – it’ll be like a treasure hunt! If you want the name of the secret bar….you’ll have to ask me!

Paris isn’t cheap but if you want to stay within a 20-25 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, you can try the 15 arrondissement near Cambrone Metro stop.

Paris is a very romantic place, you will definitely see and feel the love everyone. Well except from it’s people towards you, they are not very friend but this is black or white people. Even though it was a great trip it’s not personally one of my favorite. It’s one of those places what you put in is what you get. You have to be willing to commute because the city is so big and spread out. However the transportation system is very efficient. It’s has a lot of black people from all over the world. You see the tourist blacks when you are in the hearts but you also get the locals during your metro/train commutes and when you go to the cities/towns a little outside of Paris.
Paris has a lot to see and do. The obviously are The Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Coeur basilica, Versailles, tons of Cafe, shopping and just whatever your heart desires. etc. 1 area I absolutely recommend is Montmartre. It’s true haven within the bustling Parisian metropolis. It’s is always a pleasure to walk around and discover it’s stunning view of the city below including the iconic Moulin Rouge, which you should go check out a show from. The village of Montmartre is home to the domed Sacré-Coeur basilica and to the last surviving Parisian vineyard, authentic Parisian restaurants. Once the meeting point and home to many influential artists who painted here like Picasso, Van Gogh, Dalí, Monet, etc. The night life at the bottoms of the hill is fantastic, tons of restaurant and clubs/bars.

Paris is very pricey, one of the most expensive places I’ve traveled to but you can definitely budget if you budget it right. I stayed in this little commune called Argenteuil. Northwestern of Paris, it’s a little over 12 km or 7.5 miles to the center of Paris. It has a train/metro station a couple of minutes walk from the place we stayed at. That’s what we used to commute around to Paris and other places/sites to see.

My stay in Paris Was exciting. A Mother’s Day grift to our mom, We decided to stay at hotel Beaugency that was just about a mile away from the Eiffel tower. When we first arrived in Paris we took the train it was really easy figuring out which train you should take to get to your destination and if you need any help the people their are really friendly and more than welcome to help you. For attractions we decided to do the big bus tour, the best decision because they take you around to all landmarks like Louvre, Champs Elysees and Notre Dame and we also did a boat ride. I wasn’t really a big fan of the food, but we were able to find a nice pizza place oh and a 5 Guys lol. Everyone should go to Paris at least once, For us a Four days stay was a good amount to enjoy our self and experience Paris beauty.

My vacation in Paris was everything I imagined it to be. I was really blown away by the city and it really lived up to its hype. I traveled solo and stayed at Hotel Eugenie in the 6th arrondisement on the left side of the river. I chose that arrondisement due to the numberous unique cafes and restaurants located there. It’s also home to the Jardin du Luxembourg and it’s Palace. The food was beyond amazing. French delicacies I tried included escargot ?, coq en vin and foie gras. Everything was delicious. I opted to do a professional photoshoot with Ari from Paris Tours Photo and Portraits. He took me to the major attractions (Place Colette, Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Palais Royal) and captured some superb photos. I highly recommend him for photoshoots. I saw the Moulin Rogue show and it was spectacular. I left about 10mins before the show ended though in order to avoid the crowd and be able to grab an Uber back to my hotel quickly. My only regret was that I did not get a chance to do the Moët & Chandon or Veuve Clicquot champagne tours. The tours were all sold out, so please do not hesitate to book early. Paris is really magical and is one of my favorite cities.

France was the worst trip we ever made . I guess we didn’t plan well. Firstly, never agree to go with those cab drivers that come up to you at the airport acting overly nice to send you to your destination . Always use your maps. I found that out the hard way . It will show you which transport system to use . They don’t speak English which makes it unbearable to communicate especially when asking for directions . Aside us being duped at the airport by that driver and the language barrier it which was okay to deal the worst of all was their subway system which was So complex. And the language barrier made it even worse. We got lost several times trying to find an exit. Tank heavens we were there only for two nights .LOL.. glad I wasn’t on a solo trip .

    Things to do:

Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, See Notre-Dame Cathedral, Arc De Triomphe and walk down The Champs-Élysées, Sacre-Coeur, Disneyland Paris, Boat Cruise on the canal.

I did about 4 of the things on this list. Visited Paris in February, and it was cold, so pack for that.

Eiffel Tower- about 25 euros to visit the top of the Tower (Free to enter grounds after you go through security)
The Louvre- about 15 euros to visit the museum
Notre-Dame – Free photo op. (I did not go inside)
Arc De Triomphe- Free Photo Op (you can pay to go up top)
    Champs-Élysées- Free (lots of shopping)
Disneyland Paris – about 80 euros a person

It was too cold to be on the water so I’ll have to update when I go back in warmer months.

Eiffel Tower is a must. Day and night. You can grab a sandwich and eat it in the park. The Tower sparkles for 5 mins at the top of every hour.. i visited the tower several times during my 4 day stay.

Train easy to navigate. Last trains around midnight. Get a day pass with unlimited train and bus access within Paris.

Paris was absolutely beautiful. So much to see, some much to do and not enough time to do it all. I fell in love with the the structure of the city. The city it’s self felt like a giant museum. However, there were definitely some pros & cons. For starters – I traveled in February which the weather was unbearably cold, Brrr! My usual California winter attire did me no justice lol. Next time I will definitely travel during spring or summer. Next, the food was better at local restaurants than the fancier spots but the vibe and the views were amazing. I love a great ambience! However, customer service does not exist! Omg I was so shocked, the servers did not greet us. I had to flag them down just to get water. I later was informed that it is because people aren’t required to tip their waitress’s in Europe – still I found it rude. The people in general are not very friendly so don’t take it personal (Black or White – everyone is unfriendly) lol . My friend spoke french so that was a life saver because most people including the Uber/taxi drivers do not speak english. My hotel “Masison Albar – Le Celine” was on 1st ARR so we were able to walk outside surrounded by stores and restaurants which I loved. We booked the suite which had the most amazing, most beautiful view. It was a little expensive but if you’re traveling as a couple it worth it! Floor the ceiling walls – thank me later. Over all I had an amazing time and will be going back in the summer :) Safe travels guys!

I took a family trip to Paris so maybe that’s where I didn’t get to experience the city of lovers feel. The city itself was beautiful, Eiffel Tower, a sight to see. The food is very different from US, I literally was tired of seeing bread when I left, they eat bread with everything! The people there weren’t too friendly, not sure if it was because we were black, or American, but I personally believe it was because we were black. Would go back, but this time would have to be with bae.

I now totally understand why people call Paris the city of love. Couples are very affectionate here and I love being affectionate with my boyfriend each day while we were there. Food: I tried escargot from a street car vendor and I actually loved it. I ate macaroons and gelato everyday. The french love to indulge and enjoy every moment they spend 3 or more hours after work people watching, laughing, and drinking for hours with friends. THINGS TO DO: There are a million things to do in Paris. If you are into museums there are so many to choose them. I love touring the Louvre Museum. Keep in mind you will need comfortable walking shoes. It will take you 3 to 4 hours to view all of the art, sculptures, and displays. If you’re able to buy tickets for this Museum in advance please do so the line can be extremely long. We also went to see a show at Moulin Rouge. The show lasted about two hours, but the whole show is of course in French. So you have to just enjoy the beauty of the show. Effiel Tower: We actually hired a photographer to take pictures for us in front of the Eiffel Tower. The moments the photographer captured were priceless. If you’re able to do so I suggest you do the same. We found our photographer through flytographer.com. We visited the Eiffel Tower twice once during the day and also at night. At night at the top of the hour the Eiffel Tower will light up and Sparkle for 5 minutes forthe most amazing pictures and videos. I didn’t do much shopping but there are tons of boutiques and stores for any fashionista to visit at any time. SN: Parisians know you are american and that you probably don’t speak french, but they do appreciate it when you take the time to say bonjour and merci in their city. Those simple words show you’re trying into embrace their culture.

I really enjoyed my stay in Paris. I stayed at an Airbnb in Noisy-le-Grand. It was more of a local area, but very nice and quiet. It was about a 30 minute drive from Orly airport. The Airbnb was inside of a complex, across the street from a mall and train station. The Noisy-le-Grand station had buses and trains that would bring you directly into downtown Paris. There were also lots of stores and supermarkets nearby. It was a great experience, and super affordable because it wasn’t a hotel. Paris also has Uber, so if confusion arises with public transportation, it’s still very easy to get around.

I think Paris is overrated. However, that could be because I have been there 3x’s and all of Europe looks the same. But, if/when you go, of course see the Eiffel Tower, it looks amazing and you would really appreciate seeing it at night. By the Eiffel Tower, you will see lots of little cruise boats/ships (whatever you want to call them) make sure you get on! Wine and Champagne is really cheap so I would suggest picking up a few bottles (depending on how much you drink or how many people you are with) and get on. Be sure to listen to all of the great facts and history if you’re into that. It is a good experience! If you’re Black, the boat will be fine but sometimes the Taxi’s might not stop for you. Just be ready to walk, get uber or use public trans.

Paris was a short trip for me, but I did get the chance to explore few places. I felt pretty safe around the city, and the people were very nice. French is my first language so it was not a problem getting around town at all, plus I have family there. Paris is always a good idea!

Paris was a good time for many reasons. I really enjoyed visiting the Eiffel Tower and Palace of Versailles when I was there. There are many clubs that you can go to while in Paris such as Le Mix. In addition, the museums are very cool to visit if timed accordingly. I recommend going to the Louvre.

I always imagined stepping into Paris and this would be the most magical things I would encounter… but unfortunately this was not the case. Besides my purchases within the French stores and getting some taxes pack, It was another city checked off my list. I know there will be mixed feelings about that, but I really expected more. None the less, there are tons of things to do in Paris, however, I went during the protests of the Gilet Jeune, so I kept things a bit low key while still getting to the main areas:
The Louvre, Top of the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees. I took a free walking tour as well, which was great to provide some history, but besides that I was ready to go with my purchases.

I can still share my itinerary, I stayed Hotel Elysees Paris right by the Champs Elysees which was great for my desire to shop, but if you want to stay more towards St Michal that may be better to get tot he Louvre etc.

Don’t hesitate to contact me I have itineraries of all my trips and happy to share with you: info@iamdrwanderlust.com

Paris is unquestionably one of those cities with magnificent cuisines, stunning boulevards, it has everything you could ever look for in a city, it wasn’t named the city of love for nothing. I’ve only been to Paris twice and I’m ready to visit again in 2019. Buy the tourist 3 days or week unlimited travel pass which works on the metros and buses i believe. Book and stay in any hotel within the 20 arrondissements of Paris . Learn some basic french phrases “Bonjour, Merci, Oui” are not good enough a few sentences would be nice and DO NOT say “Voulez-vous Coucher Avec Moi” unless you’re in the streets of Moulin Rouge, kidding! Do not say it at all. Book tickets for everything in advance as Paris is amongst the top 5 most visited places in the world and can get very crowded. Take lots of pictures as Paris is a picturesque a lot of photo op can be taken of the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre etc, one of the most beautiful, charming and fascinating destinations in the world. Have a budget and DON’T get ‘lost in the sauce’ as Paris is cheap but can be expensive if care isn’t taken.

Usually go to Paris once a year. Keep an eye on flights can find great deals if flight is booked in advance. (Couple weeks/months in advance) I like to fly into CDG relatively close to the city. I enjoy staying at the Pullman Paris Hotel with an amazing balcony view of the Eiffel. Eiffel is more tourist friendly now, great to visit and explore and if your hungry stop by the restaurant inside the Eiffel (try to reserve in advance) If you have time you can also do a Siene River night cruise seeing the Eiffel light up at night is a beautiful sight to see. You can also find very nice and affordable places to stay on Airbnb. Uber and taxi’s are fairly affordable. Change your Currency to Euros at your local bank or airport. Cash Exchange rates will not be in your favor out in Paris. Or if you have a credit card with no foreign transaction fees use that but you still need a little bit of cash on you. If you don’t mind walking I recommend passing through Champs Elysees, beautiful scenery, stop by and see the Arc De Triumph. In Paris you will find tons of designer stores, tax free shopping, just be careful with importing fees. Check out the Louvre Museum you won’t regret it and purchase your tickets online and in advance recommended. Moulin Rouge is a nice show, get you some champagne and experience the culture and vibes. Nightlife is great tons of nightclubs to choose from. One recommendation is Club79 (which is no longer there) I believe they replaced it with Queen Nightclub. Clubs close and open quite frequently so keep that in mind. I recommend getting your tickets in advance, take care of everything before hand so when you get to Paris everything is already planned and you can enjoy yourself during your limited/extended stay. The worst feeling is going somewhere and not having enough time to do something or being “sold-out” so plan in advance. (Also a great excuse to return to Paris and plan another trip if you miss out on a couple things) Lastly, be aware of pickpocketing, distractions, and hustlers they know you are not from the area and will try and take advantage of you (hustle you). And if you can’t speak French don’t bother attempting, not all but most won’t talk back or “help you with directions”. Enjoy Paris and remember book and plan everything in advance, set yourself up for success!

Paris was an awesome experience I’ve been there 3 times this year and each time it feels like a different experience.

The first time I flew into Paris I flew into ORLY and that airport is pretty far compared to CDG as it relates to the city center of Paris; I used Uber to get to my hotel each time. I stayed at a hotel which was in walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and many food and shopping areas. I recommend when searching for places to stay to just look at anything that is near the metro line (our stop was Dupleix which was one stop away from Bir-Hakeim; which was the Eiffel Tower stop). The city is metro friendly and you can get around very easy on the metro. Depending on how long you will be in the city I would recommend getting a metro pass you can get them for however long you will be staying.

Love that their are so many choices with places to eat. The coffee was amazing. If your a coffee drinker you will appreciate the coffee there. So many monuments and museums to visit. The city is very diverse. You will see and meet so many different people from around the world there. Of course the pastries are a must have! You can’t leave Paris without trying a crepe!

Disclaimer: Paris was my first solo trip and I was a bit nervous about going because of the rise of the alt-right (read: fascism and nazism) in Europe despite Paris being home to le mouvement de Negrophilie. I’d also like to note that despite being huge fans of African American artists, celebrities, etc. the French have had a tumultuous relationship with African immigrants from former French colonies.

Admittedly I have studied French for more than half my life and I am of a lighter hue; with that being said I have never felt freer than during my time in Paris! I understand why James Baldwin, Nina Simone, Josephine Baker, et al. were drawn to the city of lights. I walked along the Seine while eating creme brûlée, ate crepes under the Eiffel and escargot at the world renowned Les Deux Magots, without a care in the world.

I will also note that it is now a universal fact… IF YOU ARE LOST, FIND AN OLDER BLACK WOMAN! THEY ARE OMNISCIENT!

Having lived in New York City my entire life, I have partied but you have not PARTIED until you’ve partied with Black Parisians… Black Parisian DJs have a way of mixing the top songs on American charts, Afrobeats and local artists without missing a beat!

If you can make this trip, I DEFINITELY recommend it!

Everyone should go to Paris at least once in their life. It’s sprawling with history and romance. Me an my wife went to a burlesque show at night and finished the evening with a beautiful view of Eiffel Tower light show. I am not a big club fan but they have some elobrate nightspots. There is a place for everyone. If not, the City of Lights has many places to hang out and have a glass of wine or coffee and just enjoy the fact that you have visited one of the more popular cities in the world.

The city of lights never seems to disappoint. Having visited Paris twice, I fall in love every time.

My first visit In November 2017 I did the touristy sites such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, etc.

During my 2nd visit I was able to wander the city without being on a time restriction. Stop at cafes for snacks/tea, Enjoy the bar at Lauderee on Champs Elysees, and a little shopping.

I love wandering down the narrow streets near the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Drawing hotel is in great walking distance to the Louvre and shops.

Not a huge fan of the food, as French cuisine has different prep methods. However, desserts of course are delightful.

I would visit again in a heartbeat.

This isn’t necessarily a Paris review. And all of my ratings are based on my research. It’s more of a travel tip, an urgent one!
So, I was supposed to travel to Paris this past weekend. I was super excited and had my travel plans down to a science. Like, I was really ready to boss Paris travel. Anywho to the “What had happened was” moment.
I applied for an emergency passport a few weeks ago because I only one page left in my passport. I had plans to travel to Beirut, Lebanon and Paris, France. The laws for entering France are that you have to have a blank page for entry. So I went to the US consulate in Dubai, UAE (where I live) to see my options. They told me the best option was to get an emergency passport which would give me extra pages and allow me to travel up to a year. What they failed to tell me however was that the emergency 12 page passport would not be valid in France.
So, I traveled all the way to France only to be told verbatim by immigration officers “Your president banned us from traveling to the US with an emergency travel doc, so now you can’t come here with one.”
I was LIVID to say the least.
All of this to say these few travel tips:
Check the page requirements of countries before you travel
Check what travel documents are required and acceptable
Make an alternate plan (this is something you don’t WANT to do but is nice to have in case of mishaps)

There is nothing I can tell u guys about Paris other than it’s the most romantic city ever xoxo. Parîs somehow reminds me of New York City. The trains are very dirty and there are loads of bums and ppl begging and trying to scam u everywhere. Please be aware of that if u ever travel to Paris. With that said I wanted to share the hotel that we stayed at my fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary in Paris and we stayed at the OFF Paris Seine one of the most fun boutique hotels. What’s cools about this hotel is that it’s bad placed right of the seine river literally u could look outside your hotel window and see the river and u get to relax in the lobby where the view is of the river and the bridge over it. There are pictures of this beautiful hotel on my instagram with the location tagged. I visited All the touristy places Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, arch de triumph etc. we had dinner also at the beautiful Shangrila hotel (please do not visit this hotel if u don’t have s deep pocket because nothing is cheap here) with that said it’s one of the most beautiful hotels in Paris and anywhere in the world.

Paris is such a beautiful city! I think that everyone should visit Paris at least once in their lifetime. It’s a busy city but full of great things to see and do. We visited the infamous Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. You can climb the Eiffel Tower or just admire its beauty from a distance. In the Louvre there’s so many famous artworks including the Mona Lisa. If you’re into pictures you’ll find so many places in Paris to get some beautiful pictures. Also, before you leave Paris try some macaroons, there are so many flavors and there so delicious! It’s definitely a city I’ll revisit in the future.

The Eiffel Tower twinkling at midnight is still my fondest memory of Paris.

I know there is so much hype surrounding this city, but it is definitely worth a conversation.

The museums, including the Louvre obviously, are some of the most popular in the world. The architecture is charming, it’s diverse, and it has something for everyone. Each neighborhood possessed something different so it was extremely hard to get bored. From the Moulin Rouge to Notre-Dame Cathedral, there are countless sights to see! My friend and I pushed back our stay 3 days because we weren’t ready to leave. It felt like home.

I want you to visit there at least once to see what the hype is all about. And try some french pastries while you’re there. :-)

Paris was the 17th country I’ve visited and probably the most affordable when it comes to accommodations. I traveled solo so it was super important for me to meet people. For the reason, I stayed in a hostel called “generator Paris” which is right in the middle of Paris and steps away from the metro. I purchased a metro pass and was able to get all around the city to see the major attractions for a very affordable price. If there’s one place, I’m sure I could survive financially for a summer-it would definitely be in Paris.

Paris is one of the most amazing cities I have visited.
I recommend buying the metro ticket at the airport for a period of days and circulating at will for all places in the city. The view that I like most of the city is if you up the Arc de Triomphe and then down walking walking the Avenue Champs Elise to the Louvre Museum. It’s a very nice tour.

Paris is gorgeous! There is so much to do and so much history jam packed into this city. I spent 4 days in Paris. I was mid August and the weather was a bit chilly. I was quite upset that I didn’t check the forecast before i traveled. I would have packed differently. We only scheduled one tour, which was on bicycles. The tour took us around the city and we were able to knock a good portion of things off of our list. I would note there were times the route the guide took us was a bit “dangerous”. It was as if we were weaving through traffic like we were in an action movie–fun nonetheless. The rest of our days we spent exploring and getting lost in the city. Those are usually the best times. There were only two things that altered my otherwise joyous trip. One was the food. Everything was so bland. The french love a cold cut sandwich. My gosh. I don’t think I had one satisfying meal while I was there. I ultimately left feeling underwhelmed in that department. My second bad experience was with the people. Definitely no warm and fuzzy over there. Every seemed to have an attitude and were reluctant to help. Just rude. Overall, my experience in Paris was great, and I would recommend everyone visit at least once.

Went here in May 2016 as a solo trip on a long layover. I booked a layover tour with local David Kafari. My favorite neighborhood was Montmartre. It is so cute, peaceful, and has nice views overlooking the city. I visited the Louvre (managed a selfie with Mona Lisa), went to the top of the Eiffel tower, ate Pierre Hermé macarons (not a fan), and did more sightseeing. This trip was a taste of Paris. I would like to return to visit Versailles, take a cooking class, and see the Moulin Rogue.

I have been to Paris a few times, but most recently in December 2015. Being from NYC, this city feels familiar in it’s overall vibe– people move very quickly and are kind of to themselves, it’s busy, and there is a lot to do.

No matter how many times I visit, the museums still enchant me. And by this I don’t mean the Mona Lisa. To be honest, I was actually pretty underwhelmed with the Mona Lisa the first time I saw it. It was much smaller than I thought and you couldn’t even get close to it. The Louvre Museum overall though is enough to keep you occupied all day.

The art and history throughout Paris is what draws me back to that city.

I have been to Paris a couple of times and honestly as a black woman felt uncomfortable at times. I think part of my discomfort comes from the lack of ability to speak and communicate in French. What was mind blowing is when people will just look dead in your face and just look you up and down and not even flinch, as if you are on display. What we decided to do was when we needed help, we would seek out other black people. Even if there was a language barrier, they seemed more willing to help us navigate whatever issues we were having.

I’ve been multiple times, and I find something different each time. Certain things can get pricey in Paris, like meals, so know that beforehand. Price wise, I’d recommend Airbnb over hotels, especially in the summer months, because the hotels are so expensive, and small, compared to American standards. But be careful with Airbnb there, as they had a big issue with owners not registering their listings, and then they get taken off of the market, and the renters got NO refunds. Getting around the city is easy, especially using the Metro & the RER trains. Very affordable. Also, learn some French phrases, as they really try to not speak English. This will help you in the restaurants.

Paris is even more beautiful at night. A must do is the Eiffel tower which looks beautiful in the day and shimmers in the nighttime on the hour, every hour after sundown. Make sure you get the ticket that gets you to the summit. The view was amazing. It cost about 19-25€. Another attraction is The Louvre by train. 17€ to enter but you can go to the courtyard for free. You have to time it right because it gets crazy crowded during the day. But if you go super early or a couple hours before closing, you can almost avoid the lines. Mona Lisa is here, along with other historical works. Another museum that is actually better but doesn’t get talked about as much is the Musee D’Orsay. Bigger, easier to navigate, not as crowded. Check it out. While there, make sure you also hit up the Arc de Triomphe, and actually go up on top of it. Long lines for this too, do go early. Luxembourg gardens is also nice and actually in the city. Go to Notre Dame cathedral, and if you’re lucky you might walk in as mass is going on. Most people try to hit up the Palace of Versailles, and it is nice, but if you’re short on time, skip it. Big chunks of your day will be gone if you take the pilgrimage out there. If you want that “scenery shot” for the Gram, go to Sacre-Coeur. Don’t free when you see the steps. There’s a funiculare that goes up on the side if you can’t climb steps. Church is free to enter. From up there, you can see all of Paris & get some incredible shots.

Actually try some French food. It is different, but most of it is actually good. L’Ariel, L’Escargot are a few places, but they are literally on most corners. Most restaurants have a French and English menu, due to the influx of British travelers that always are coming over, so no worries there. Get some macarons while you’re there. Find an Amorino or a Laduree(more fancy, pricier option). Also, if you’re searching for the ethnic food, go to the Montmarte area. All the Caribbean and African flavors over there, and they’re good. Don’t look like a tourist, as you’re more likely to be targeted by the pickpockets. Safe to walk around at night though, so don’t be scared. Just guard valuables in tight spaces. Hit the clubs in the Latin Quarter and have fun. Beware of Titty Twister though. Very rude bouncers.

I absolutely loved my hotel in Paris. I stayed at the Crayon Rouge, a cute little boutique hotel that is walking distance from the Louvre and Jardin du Palais- Royal. They offer breakfast for an extra 15 euros and have a wine bar. I would definitely stay here again!

Paris. I love you!!! I stayed in Paris for 3 days and boy oh boy …I wish it was more..Paris is beautiful..especially at night. Dint get me wrong it’s lovely in the day as well.. We did the hop on hop off tour for 60€ that allows you to see the city for 2 days , take a cruise if the river seine, and also get a night tour of Paris…My best moment was of course the eiffel tower which looks beautiful in the day and stunning in the night..it was a dream come true to visit..we took the ‘sommet’ tour of the tower which takes you all the way to the tip of the tower…The view was spectacular..it cost just about 25€. We stayed outside the city at Relais du Pre just about 15 minutes from the louvre by train…another awesome monument you must see. The museum is just about 17€ to enter but you can go to the courtyard for free. Lastly..Disneyland Paris..takw a day to visit you wont regret. We paid about 69€ to visit 1 park..it was really cool..I would visit Paris again.

Paris was a cool experience. I went there for my 30th birthday. To be honest I’m not much of a city person but Paris has some unbelievable architecture. We stayed at L’Tsuba Hotel a block from the Arch de Triumphe. In Paris everywhere we went most people spoke English, but I do speak bit of French, which helped a whole lot. We went on a hop off hop on boat tour which stops a some of the major monuments. We walked most of the city (which took hours). My favorite part of Paris was the food. I tried escargot and frog legs from a restaurant called “L’Escargot” . I have to say their food was amazing. We had pastries at local bakeries and dinner at different restaurants through out our stay. Some places even give you the option of an English menu. Here’s a few quick tips:

    1. Even if you don’t speak French “Bonjour, Merci, and Auvoir” will go a very long way. From my personal experience they appreciate trying.
    2. Try the foods
    3. When walking around stay vigilant and don’t keep valuables in your pockets. Pickpocketing is big in Europe so don’t get caught lacking.
    4. Bring a steamer/ Iron. Sounds obvious but I made that mistake.
    5. Get a local sim card. Life will be so much easier.

I traveled to Paris in September of 2017 as an all girl’s family trip (it was a total of seven of us). We found flight deals flying out of Atlanta for only $428 round-trip. The rooms in Paris were a little on the high side as far as price goes. We decided to stay at a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Airbnb that was a little farther out of the central part of the city in order to save money. The area was a little sketchy but because we always moved as a unit we weren’t too afraid even when we were walking around at night. We were close to a train station, so we traveled by train the entire trip. Overall Paris a beautiful city full of history. We did a Segway tour which went all around the city and the tour guide was excellent. We were able to see a majority of Paris on that one tour alone. I do not remember the tour company that we used but if I can remember, the price was close to $100 each. The tour did take 5-6 hours, but it was worth it. We probably wouldn’t have been able to see as much as we did had we not taken the tour. We spent a day visiting the Eiffel tour and going up to the top of it. In my opinion it wasn’t worth the hype. We were in line for like an hour and ended up only taking a few pics and then heading back down. They allow you to purchase of small flute of champagne for $8 at the top as well. My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Palace of Versailles. We took a train ride there and it was breathtaking. Sooo much history there. I definitely recommend making that a priority if you visit Paris.

We spent 3 days in Paris and I still felt like we didn’t have enough time. There is so much to do.

Be aware that some museums and shops are closed on specific days of the week. So if you’re planning a day to visit a certain place, make sure they are open on the day you want to go or you might be sorely disappointed.

We had no problem traveling while black. Paris is a big mix of cultures and customs and microcosms so just about anyone will fit in. I would say that it’s more of an issue to travel while being a tourist. If you look like a naive tourist, then you’ll stick out like a sore thumb and be more susceptible to pickpocketers or scammers. This is usually the issue in the train stations. No self sticks. That also calls attention to you and people notice when you’re distracted trying to get that perfect shot and then they snatch your purse or jack you up.

I do love the metro though. So fast and takes you so many places. We had bought a hop on hop off bus pass and that was a mistake as the buses get jammed up in traffic during peak times so you don’t get to see as much. I would rely on the trains instead.

We also bought the Paris Museum Pass with the additional 3 day metro pass. I would say that it was well worth it to skip the line especially at the Orsay Museum which had like a 3+hour wait line outside when we arrived. It was also helpful to skip the line at the Louvre, Sainte-Chapelle, the crypt at Notre-Dame, Arc du Triomphe, and the Chateau de Versailles. Lines can really be a downer if you’re pressed for time so exercise your options and look for a Paris pass of some kind. If you’re not interested in any of the places on the passes, just pick a few places you want to see and take your time. Versailles was about an hour outside Paris so be aware of that.

I would suggest getting tickets in advance if you’re going to the Eiffel Tower. We didn’t go up but made sure to come back in the evening when the light up the tower in a spectacular light show. As there are so many cultures in Paris, there are so many places to eat. We didn’t even have any trouble as vegetarians.

Some people say that they have bad experiences in Paris because people are rude. I didn’t find that to be a problem. I think some French are just busy and in a hurry and don’t have the same customer service skills that people often see in other places. Don’t wait to be called on in line, just move up to the counter and place your order. If you don’t move up, they think you’re not ready to order and would rather service people who are ready. There isn’t really an “I got here first” mentality. It’s just whoever is ready to order, step up. Just remember you’re in their country so fall in line. Also, the French don’t like to speak English as again, you’re in their country. They will speak it if necessary but try to learn a few phrases or just be self-reliant and buy things at grocery stores or point at things on the menu and nod. Many countries assume we’re typical Americans who don’t speak any other language and expect everyone to wait on them hand and foot in English….not in France. It’s not a black thing, it’s just how they operate.

Visiting Paris for the First Time? Does travel planning take so much of your time and effort? Don’t you know where to get reliable information for your first trip to Paris? Paris for first timers can be overwhelming but look no further, our Paris Travel Planner is the best tool for people planning a trip to Paris, with all the Paris tips and tricks that you need for your first time in Paris. High season in Paris is considered from 1st April to 31st October. It means nice weather and more hours of daylight and many people will tell you this is the best time to travel to Paris. But at the same time, this is not the best season to visit Paris in terms of budget (best accommodation booked, higher prices). Also, the city is too crowded with tourists while locals are somewhere else on holidays. If you are a museum lover, the best time to go to Paris for you will be probably the first weekend of the month. On the first Sunday of the month, many museums in Paris can be visited for free. Some of these museums have this offer all the year. Instead, other museums are only for free during the winter. So you got your train or flight tickets for your trip to Paris and the countdown starts. You are going to Paris for the first time and you are very excited! In the previous chapter you have more or less decided where to stay in Paris (the Arrondissement of Paris) and now it is time to book your accommodation.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Paris! It doesn’t matter your interests, Paris has something for you. From classical ballets, operas, to dub poetry to amusement parks. The Latin Quarter is famous for their nightlife and there are some good food spots there too. Rue Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement is one of the oldest streets in Paris (over 2000 years in existence) and is filled with multicultural activities and eateries. It is a very lively street where you can find a daily market with fresh products and the diversity of shops are a real feast for the senses.

Take a gander at all the churches that can be found in and around Paris. Although quite popular, Sacre Coeur is my favorite and offers great views of the city via MontMartre.

There are so many things to explore in Paris beyond the Eiffel Tower. Definitely worth a few days stopover on your visit to France.

I truly enjoyed Paris! There was so much culture and diversity. My trip was very suiting to my early twenties budget… My flight was less than $500 rountrip! I also only payed $60 a night at an Airbnb. This was my first solo travel trip and I truly enjoyed it! The only troubles I had was finding food to eat fitting my mainly plant based lifestyle- the culture is very big on meat! But Travel Advisory helped a lot in that area as well as maps. Transportation was extremely easy with the train and my IPhone map. I mostly walked and caught the train a few times. I stayed in Les Halles, which was very easy to get around and kind of central to everything. I went on a bike riding tour(electric bikes) through Paris, vintage shopping, and took a cooking class. All of those tours were less than $40. If you need any assistance with traveling on a budget contact me on instagram @soul.rae .

When I went to Paris it was the beginning on summer so the weather was perfect, once I got into Paris, there were tons to do and see, my first mission was to see the Eiffel Tower which was everything you would imagine. It was a spectacular view, (it lights up in different colors at night) and a great place to have a picnic. For some reason there were guards with machine guns around the tower, but that could be because at that time there were a lot of terrorist activity going on in Europe. You can purchase a ticket to go up the tower, who wouldn’t want to do that?
The next stop was Arc de Triomphe, it was just like a giant gateway in the middle of the road. I also went to The Louvre which is home to Mona Lisa and so many other valued art. If you don’t mind walking, seeing all of this while walking is a great way to experience Paris, the art in the streets, the people, see all the fancy cars that you can actually rent for quick drive, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, you name it, it was there. The Paris Eye (ferris wheel) is located between The Louvre and the Arc but is closer to the side of the Louvre. Another thing to do in Paris is to visit the Notre Dame Cagedral, architecture like nowhere else and if you have enough time and money, there is the Sacré Coeur which is another church but it it’s located on the outskirts of Paris on a hill so you are able to see the entire city of Paris! And there was a guy hanging off a pole juggling a soccer ball, crazy!
Paris is definitely a place to see and do a lot, I had lots of fun.

I studied abroad in Paris a few years ago and still did’t scratch the surface of things that can be done. The catacombs was a really unique thing to go do and I definitely didn’t think that this was something I would have even done in Paris. Along with the catacombs, there are so many museums to go to ( Musee D’Orsay, Le Louvre, Musee Rodin). I also love Jardin des Luxembourg.

Paris is truly a wonderful city with plenty to see! From a trip up the Eiffel Tower, walks along the avenue des Champs Elysees, boat rides down the seine river, pictures in front of the arc de triomphe, touting Notre Dame cathedral, to seeing the Mona Lisa at the louvre museum. You definitely need at least 3 days to soak up the beauty of this city. It is a very walkable city, but if you prefer to take the metro it is quite easy to access. There are many great Parisian restaurants to eat at, including LaDuree and Angelina’s- your go-to spots for amazing macaroons and rich French hot chocolates and pastries. And of course you can always shop-till you drop at the high end shops! And the bonus is you usually get more bang for your buck shopping in Europe, and you get a VAT tax refund with you leave!

On my European tour I spent about four days in Paris ( not enough time, I recommend 5-7 days). I stayed at the Marriott Paris Rive Gauche; I loved this hotel, it was close to metro stops, less than 3 minute walk and near lots of little shops and restaurants. Paris offers something for every kind of person! There is ALOT TO DO! The Eiffel Tower might seem like everyone’s must do, but it is truly beautiful! take it a step further and brave the courage to go to the top! Go early in the day as the crowds will increase. Also, There is much do to in the surrounding area; pubs were popular, some of the smoothest beer Ive ever had! small french eateries, dessert bars (Try the crepes with ice cream!!) Also, If you so happen to go after dark the tower LIGHTS UP! , talk about romantic! Be sure to shoot over to the Louvre musuem, this is where The Mona Lisa resides, but most importantly this is where Beyonce shot ApeS*** (couldnt help myself, I love her). I highly recommend purchasing your ticket online so you can walk right in! The museum offers entry time slots throughout the day, if not, you take a chance at battling major crowds! the Mona Lisa draws thousands! Also, I love how easy it was to get around, The trains are inexpensive (3 euros roughly for roundtrip) so you can go anywhere within minutes! Paris is so magical!!

Cafes, restaurants, shopping, museums, hustle and bustle. Very diverse but all French. Easy to get around once you figure out the train system. Best bread ever! City feels electric. I am an introvert and don’t like crowds but I could always find a space to myself and recharge and observe. I’m going back for another look this year.

Paris is my favorite place in the world. Between the architecture, the history, the people, and the energy there is nothing not to love about Paris. As a solo traveler it is always more costly to take on an international trip, between activities, lodging, and transportation I know I have to accommodate for the lack of a companion every time I go. But with that said, I have never spent more than $900 for a 7-day trip going to Paris. My breakdown is below:

    $400 RT Dallas to Paris
    $89 RT to Amsterdam
    $230 Lodging
$180 on Activities, Food, and In-Cty Transportation

Wunder Luster Travel Agency definitely helped me get the most out of my Paris trip. I visit a couple times a year because I love it so much.

Paris is one of the most visted cities in the world. The French have made a brand for the French name. The food, the eiffel tower ect. I was quite underwhelmed by Paris. You hype up Paris so much and at the end of the day it really is like another big European city. Smelly, crowded, pickpocketers and people are not that welcome. As far as being black there I didn’t feel I stood out as there are many immigrates from all over the world. The food I think is the best I’ve tried. The french REALLY know how to cook a quality meal ! Hanks Burger was an tasty not soo expensive place I went. I recommend you learn a bit of french as they do not like to speak much english. It’s hard not to be emotional by the tower since the whole momentum has went up to that point but yeah it’s alright. the Lovur museum was also nice but the rest of the trip I found myself a little bored. I recommend just 2-3 days in Paris traveling alone. 4 days if you travel with someone else. Make sure to download the metro map and offline maps as the wifi isn’t so great.

So before traveling to Europe Paris was my number city to visit, I would buy everything Eiffel tower if i saw it and figured this would the the most amazing place ever! Wrong. If you plan on visiting do it soon, with all the strikes going on and French people hating tourists your experience wont be as great. Aside from people being extremely rude, my visit was great because of everything I wanted to see and do. I download this app called RATP which helped navigate the metro trains and such but that wasn’t all that helpful either because most of them were in strike so we would get kicked out even before our stop or they would close early like at 11pm and such. Anyway my favorite place was the Panoramic Observatory, it cost about 15-20euros so worth it. You get to see the whole city of Paris, it’s best to do it while the sun is setting because the Eiffel Tower sparkles every hour on the hour! As far as food goes I didn’t really enjoy the food as much as others. But there are lots to choose from! Oh and don’t be loud, French people hate loud people. I was with a group of 4 and we had to watch how we laughed on the metro or bus. But anyway I’d visit again just for the Eiffel Tower since it was raining while I was there.

Paris was a very beautiful and historic city. We did the traditional Arc de Triomphe and the Effiel Tower during the day. We also did the Versailles. But the most interesting and fun part was they nightlife. I loved one particular club Paris 911, Hip-hop, Reggae, Kompa. It was so live and fun. I will say please save up for Paris or any European country, the Euro is so powerful, compared to the dollar. It’s very costly but you can get great deals on souvenirs near the Effiel Tour.

My favorite city to go to. I’ve been here twice and have not been dissapointed yet. Food is great, people are great and there plenty of things to do and see. If you go see the Eiffel tower definitely go all the way to the top. Best view ever. Wear a jacket becuase it gets really cold up there. I also highly recommend the 58 Tour Eiffel Tour. It is the restaurant located on the first level of the Eiffel Tower. Also has a great city view at night.

I traveled to Paris via train from Barcelona the ride was 8 hours long non stop. When arriving in Paris is stayed at the St. Christopher’s inn Gare du nord which was in walking distance from the Gare du nord train station. The hostel was spectacular super clean, spacious, the bed where impressive with their own locker and curtain super private. Must see in Paris are with out a doubt the Eiffel tower, louvre museum, palace of versailles, Norte dame, and many more. Also make sure you get your wine and cheese.

Paris has a million fans but I can say I believe it’s for a reason. It’s a beautiful city and the vibe is chic and just over all cool. For a history lover, I would definitely recommend getting the city pass that gives you access to multiple museums and venues around the city. In addition to the Louvre, I would recommend checking out the Musse D’ Orsey which had an amazing collection of Van Gough paintings. There’s also a bunch of cafes nearby where I would recommend popping in for a crepe and some coffee. You’ll need your energy!

Went to Paris at the spare of the moment. Spent 48 hrs there. I stayed at the Renaissance Vendom which was perfect because it was minutes away from every place I wanted to go. I walked to most of the places. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. I visited Eiffel Towers, Moulin Rouge, Angelina’s, Louvre Museum and more. Ate duck, escargot, crepes, macaroons and of course I had a croissant. You should definitely add FRANCE to your bucket list.

I’m probably going to get roasted for this but, I really didn’t like Paris. The French are quite possibly among the rudest people I’ve ever met. Apart from the cleaning lady at the hotel mopping over my shoes because I was in her way, the unhelpful Receptionist and the Conductor at Biot station shouting in my face when I asked when about the next train – everything was super expensive, the food was mediocre and I really don’t get the hype about the champagne. That said, I suppose the couples have a very different experience as it’s supposed to be the City of Love. Why exactly, I can’t tell you. One thing is for sure – I will not be back.

Paris was my wife and daughter’s choice but when we arrived I was feeling a certain way. I was hooked just walking thothe Aeroport. I was like Oui Oui.
Nightlife in Paris is beautiful. Everything is lit up so pretty. We did a lot of walking and subway in Paris. The subway is like an underground city in itself. We actually lived in 3 different districts just to see different parts of the city and then we stayed at Disneyland for the kids before taking the TGV train to south France and stayed there for eight days.

Paris was beautiful! I stayed in an Airbnb in Levallois-Perret. It was only a 10 minute walk to Champs Elysées where all the good shopping is located. The neighborhood was full of beautiful architecture, shops, restaurants and bars. And they have Uber and a wonderful subway system so getting around was super easy. For nightlife I suggest Club Mix! It opens at midnight you can party all night!

Paris is probably one of my favorite places to visit! If you’re a hopeless romantic like me, you have to go to Paris! No matter the season Paris is perfect! I don’t know about most people, but I will never get tired of seeing the Eiffel Tower light up every hour on the hour start st 8pm. Though Paris is a very expensive city, it is still worth seeing once. And the shipping is unreal!! Be sure to be a tourist and visit all of the main attractions… it’s a must! My suggestion would be going when it’s fall/winter… it’s a lot less crowded.

Instead of flying to Paris I actually took a ship! To be exact I cruised with Royal Caribbean then ported in Le Havre, France and took a shuttle into Paris. The City of light was everything I expected it to be. I was only there for a few hours and I managed to take the metro, visit the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre. The fashion in Paris was impeccable. Everything I heard about the fashion out here was true! I wish I stayed longer. Paris is a must see!

I spent a weekend in Paris & this was my very first trip! Have to say if you’ve never been you literally have to make it a HAVE TO tick off bucket list!

The Eiffel Towel, Iron Lady, I don’t think I need to say much. Just visit at night at o’clock to catch the sparkling lights that last for 4 minutes. Unfortunately the area beneath it is under construction now so I couldn’t visit it.

Most notably you have to visit the Arc De Triomphe! It’s a lovely building that I would definitely visit during your time in Paris.
You need to get that iconic lovely picture – and I would recommend going to look up the top of it although I didn’t get chance to do that.

The Louvre is also a definite must for one to visit! It is the most enchanting museum, the architecture & decor plus you get to see the one & only Mona Lisa, I set out to go & share a smile with her but the crowds literally make it hard to do so!

While in Paris, you have to visit Montmartre. It is often one of the most amazing things to do in Paris. Montmartre is distinctly bohemian and independent, stemming from its artist roots. While there it’s also notable that one visits the iconic Moulin Rouge, and the breath-taking Sacré Coeur along the way for that unbeatable view over Paris. It’s one of the most unique things to do in Paris!

The French cuisine is also a must, had the best Escargot (snails) & frog legs to top it all off!

A definite must for any travel goal chaser!

I went to Paris in 2017 and then back in Jan 2018 so amazingly beautiful. So much beauty, culture, history, food. I definitely plan to visit at least once every year. I highly recommend going to the Louve, YSL museum which a lot of people I don’t see do, Arc of Triumph, along with taking the train which is by far more reliable than the MTA. Please visit Luxemberg Garden and go to Angelina for the best hot chocolate ever, and Chef Francis to get the best view of the Eiffel Tower.

In Paris we went to the Eiffel tower, my son and I opted to climb the stairs instead of take the elevator for two reasons, one because it was a long wait for the elevator, and because it was cheaper. The stairs don’t go all the way up, only to the second platform, but it was fun and if I go again, I’ll climb them again. We went to see Notre Dame cathedral, couldn’t find the hunchback though lol. Walked to lock bridge and were stunned by all the locks. Next day we went to the Louvre, and that is an all day event! So much history there and got to see the original Mona Lisa! We spent hours there. I went with my son so I didn’t see any romantic aspect of Paris, but we had a great time. Would go again.

Paris is the perfect city for solo travelers because of the inflow of tourist through out the year. Making friends and meeting fellow travelers is super easy if you stay in a hostel. I know a lot of people have fears when it comes to sharing a room with strangers but St Christophers Inn gives you a lot of options. If you’re thinking of visiting Paris then i’d recommend you stay at St christophers inn because its not only cheap but well organized and its located close to the metro.

    j’adore Paris ?
Paris is a perfect travel spot throughout the whole year. My favorite season though is December. Around this time Paris turns into a winter wonderland. The whole streets are decorated with light chains and just feels magical. The Christmas market incredible and should not be missed out.
The easierst way to explore the sights around town is by metro. For less than 5€ (if you under 25 is even less) you get a day ticket and hop on and off where ever you like. Visit the typical spots like Eiffel tower, Louvre, Champs-Élysée ceur, Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre, love lock Bridge, Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre.
They are all amazing architectures and they are worth a visit.
The top of the Eiffel Tower is mostly crowed and waiting time to go up can often take hours.
Here is my tip : Check out Tour Montparnass. It has a 360 grad view on the whole city and has a indoor and outdoor platform.
If you have some more time left definitely pay the Palace of Versailles a visit. It’s a incredible sights.
    Enjoy your trip

Out of all the places I ever traveled to Paris is my ultimate favorite! There are so many things to do and see there! If you ever go, visiting the Palace of Versaille is a must. It is so beautiful and they have the most immaculate gardens one has ever seen. I would suggest go when they have they feauture the musical gardens there. It really makes you feel like you’re living in that century. If you go the Paris, don’t just see the Eiffel tower, dine in the Eiffel tower! Why be basic? lol. Me and my friend enjoyed lunch in the Eiffel tower. It was worth it. Have a picnic in champs de mars park. Its the park where you get the best view of the Eiffel tower. If you love history and fancy living Paris is definitely the place you have to put on your travel list. You won’t regret it trust me.

Paris is dope. Nightlife, restaurants, history, best shopping in the world, and people everything is pretty much 5 Star. Plus french is a lovely language to listen too. Everyone is really nice and helpful and the city is just fun to walk around and get lost in. So many cafes set up just for people watching with good food. Europe in general feels 30 years ahead of America in regards to technology so enjoy it while your there, plus the feel of a city with a very rich history.

It’s not cheap but worth every Euro.

If you are looking for history then Paris is the place. So many places to go and see; however one ofmy favorites is the Catacombs. Seems creepy, skulls and bones 1/2 mile underground but it was the most fascinating things I have experienced. I recommend taking a guided tour to help you understand the history and backstory behind the Catacombs and to point out the different sculptures and their meanings. I would also highly recommend a visit to Versailles. Although outside of Paris it is worth the time. Definitely an entire days worth of sites, it is a masterfully built piece of history that has many layers and opportunities to discover.

With only 48 hours in Paris I had to be strategic about how to use my time. My adventures included a bike tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours; an evening boat tour on the Seine River with Bateaux Mouches River Cruise, and going all the way up to the top of the Eiffel Tower (be sure to check out the Eiffel Light Show at night)! This gave me a chance to visit many historical landmarks along the way and I also had a chance to window shop along the famous Avenue des Champs-Elysees and made it to the end to view the Arc de Triomphe. Paris is a magical city, easy to get around on train or foot, and was super easy to travel solo!

I visited Goutte D’or. It’s a primarily african and middle eastern neighborhood but it was real and reasonably price.
