I took my wife on an amazing getaway to Saint Lucia . We stayed at the Hotel Chocolat in Soufriere with the great view of the Piton Mountain ⛰. I give the hotel a 10 out of 10. Food was delicious, infinity pool (view of the Piton Mountain), staff was nice and helpful, and my room & resort was very clean. We went to the Sulphur hot springs Mud Bath near the Soufriere Volcano . A dope experience. We also went to Sugar Beach Resort for lunch. It’s right between the Piton Mountains. That resort is beautiful and is roughly $1500 a night to stay there. Took a taxi to the south part of Saint Lucia to shop. Didn’t get a chance to go to the North side of the island. It was great seeing all my melanated people from the island. All and all a much need getaway. Definitely put Saint Lucia on your bucketlist.

Overall this was a great trip. I however got cursed out inside of a church….. We jumped on a tour last minute to the beach. On the tour we made a few historical stops on the way to the beach, one of which was a church. We were dressed in swimsuits and cover ups and a woman cussed us out for being dressed inappropriately. This was a tourist mistake, both ours and the tour guide. Know all of the stops of your tours and dress appropriately.

Absolutely beautiful. Some of the most astonishing scenery everywhere you go on this island. We went zip lining beside the pitons and it was a great experience. The locals were all friendly. I have always wanted to visit during carnival time, can’t wait to go back!

St. Lucia is my favorite island in the Caribbean because there is so much to do!
Every Friday night on the Northern part of the island, Gros Islet, there is a street party with fresh food, music, and drinks- this is the REAL TURN UP! The Northern side of the island was also great for sailing and snorkeling- the water was so clear and beautiful.
On the southern part of the island is the pitons- absolutely gorgeous- making for great pics and an adventurous hike for the hikers out there.
Visiting the Sulphur Springs and doing a mud bath is a MUST- the park is the world’s only drive-in volcano.
If you like to explore nature and learn a bit about history, I’d also recommend the Diamond Botanical Gardens, Morne Coubaril Estate, and Tet Paul Nature Trail

I stayed at 2 different while in St. Lucia. First I stayed at the Royalton for 3 nights. It’s about an hour and a half from the airport but totally worth the trip, I was impressed with the white glove treatment we received upon arrival, the lobby is open air and gives you an amazing 360 view of the entire resort. Our room was breathtaking, with a bathtub in the middle of the room, a huge dual shower and a swim up pool leading to the patio area! The buffet food was typical for a resort but the habachi restaurant was really good and a lot of fun. The resort is right off the beach and the beach bar has a good drinks. Next we stayed at Hotel Chocolat which is located right across the majestic Piton mountains and literally has the best view I’ve ever experienced. It looks like heaven on earth. The food was delicious but way overpriced. The room was open air so if you love nature it is the place for you. Personally it was a bit too open for me because I hate insects lol. The infinity pool and views make it completely worthwhile and I definitely recommend taking a day trip there!
Cost: Royalton was about $440/night. Hotel Chocolat was about $390/night.

The local food of Saint Lucia is very much like Dominican food delicious ! We stayed at the Jade Mountain Hotel. The food served at the buffet had plenty of the country food. It was close to town which gave us the change to go out and experience with the locals, enjoy the local food have local beer, enjoy the block party going on that night. It was safe to travel in taxi.

Travelling to St. Lucia every year when I was younger was the best thing, but now I’m a adults it’s even better. My recent trip I managed to travel around the whole island. St lucia is a small island so this is highly recommend if you have the time. I would highly suggest hiring a car, but please be careful with the driver out there. They always say if you can drive in the caribbean you can drive anywhere lol.

I originally stay in Micoud where my family are from but later moved onto Soufriere where we stayed at Hotel chocolate for a few days. OMG AMAZING. My love for the chocolate shop in London and knowing that the Coco beans came from a country that I am from led me to stay here.

The hotel is an amazing place to relax, unwind and just enjoy nature, the infinity pool with the view of one of the pitons is speechless. The food is just amazing and worth every penny. Every meal including breakfast has a element of chocolate. Breakfast was included within our reservation.

Other hotels I would also recommend
    – Jade mountain
    – Sugar beach
    – Coconut bay
    – Bay gardens
    – Harbour club

    Things to do
    Sulphur springs
    Diamond waterfall
    Diamond botanical gardens
    Toraille waterfall
    Latille waterfall
    Castries
Boat ride with viator tours which included sulphur springs, diamond waterfall and botanical garden.
I have provided the link below, but as usual there are many other activities that you can do on the island https://www.viator.com/tours/St-Lucia/St-Lucia-Shore-Excursion-A-Tour-of-St-Lucia/d38-2374PRTSLUMSHT

Every Friday Gros islet have a fish festival. I highly suggest this! It normally kicks off about 6ish but your welcome to reach anytime. It is a very vibrant upbeat street party with loads of food, music, rum and good vibes.

There are so many nice beaches on the island so if you have time you’ll be able to do most of them. Laborie & Gros islet are my top favourites!!

This island was so beautiful I had to visit twice! During my first trip, I stayed at the all-inclusive Sandals Regency La Toc resort and with their “stay 1 play at 3” exchange program I was also able to check out their Halcyon and Grande properties. All were very beautiful with Halcyon being the smaller boutique resort, Regency being a unique cliff side resort in which many of the rooms sat on bluffs (a cliff overlooking water), and Sandals Grande which was the largest and home to these amazing over-the-water bungalows. On my second visit, I choose to stay Sandals Grande because I fell in love with the beach views and believed this resort to be the most lively of the three. The resort is for couples, however, I took my mother and we had a great time staying in the swim-up lagoon room in which you can swim right off your patio. As with all Sandals properties, water sports are included so I was able to try water-skiing (and failed lol) which was also a fun time! The pub on property was lively and had a DJ but my favorite place to grab unlimited drinks was at the swim-up pool. I also suggest making a reservation at Gordon’s on the Pier restaurant because the sound of crashing waves during your meal is just perfect.

St. Lucia was amazing. Definitely something to experience. St. Lucia is a mountainous island so getting from one end to the next will take some time, but its a beautiful island. I stayed at Rodney Bay Inn in Gros Islet. They had a there main hotel Rodey Bay Hotel next door where I was able to get breakfast lunch and dinner. Behind Rodney Bay Inn was Rodney Bay Mall where there was a plethora restaurants, shops, and bar. Their national breakfast is saltfish, salad, and bread. Piton and Strongbow were two of there local drinks. Along the strip I was able to visit a couple of local restaurants. Rituals Coffee where i had the St. Lucian breakfast (saltfish, salad, and bread) and a piton. I went to Crave where they had the bomb veggie pasta, so flavorful, and a passionfruit Ting. There was a buffet spot called The Triangle where you can have 4-5 sides and a main for 20EC-25EC that’s like $10. 1usd is 2.70 EC (East Caribbean Dollars) You can get real authentic St. Lucian food there. Thats where many locals go.
When it comes to flights like anywhere the sooner the better. I booked mines in Feb. and paid $650 but it was to the further airport, the closer aiport cost 1k at that time. I went for there carnival in July. I would recommend going for 7 days. Thurs.-Thurs. Parties started to release in March. The parties I went to were: Mess, Brazen, Raff Up, Remedy, and Indulgence. I played with Xuvo on the road an they didn’t disappoint. I give them an 8/10. The costumes are reasonably priced, I paid $480 for by backline costume with wire bra.
I was able to squeeze in some touristy things. I took a picture with the famous Piton Mountain (Gros & Petit Piton), experienced Toraille waterfall (Soufriere, St. Lucia), and did the volcano mud bath at Sulphur Springs, which is the only drive through volcano, (Soufriere, St. Lucia). Morne Fortune is a nice location to see the view of Castries, St. Lucia its on the way to the waterfall and volcano.I would definitely go back and reccomend anyone who thought about it to go

St Lucia is definitely a Vacation Island from food to relaxation to everything just paradise I Had a wonderful vacation at this location called Ocean View Villa in Cap Estate about 1hr and 30 mins from the UVF airport in Vieux Fort .Joan and Jon the proprietors, were very accommodating and helpful with suggestions of local sights to see, and restaurants to visit.

The accommodations were excellent; beautiful rooms, great pool and the view from Oceanview is exceptional with a very welcome breeze. You can watch the sunrise and sunset from my balcony .

Thanks to Passport Club Travel and their excellent travel booking service I had a great stay at the Royalton in St. Lucia and had such an amazing time. The Royalton took care of me and my 2 friends and ensured that we were all having a great time. The island, people, and the accommodations were lovely. Passport Club Travel also checked up on us to make sure that our stay was pleasant and nothing went unnoticed.

My boyfriend and I rented a car to get around the island – that itself was an experience, lol! The “main roads” are through/on a mountain, so be prepared for a ride full of sharp twists and close turns. This is a French island, so they drive on the left side and the steering wheel is also on the left side. To get from one side of the island to the other is about 1.5-2 hours (one end to the other), so I would plan to stay on the side you’ll be viewing the most, sitting in a car on vacation was not too fun – mix that with a crazy drive, woo! We were in Gros Islet, but wanted to do many things in Soufrière (opposite ends). Be mindful of which airport you fly into also!

    SUGGESTIONS:
Every Friday in Gros Islet there is a street party! Locals and tourists together. The streets are blocked off, great music, cheap drinks, quick eats, fish fry on the beach. Goes from 7PM-2/3AM.

Waterfalls – One in Dennery – pretty difficult to find, but so worth it if you do. My boyfriend and I were the only two people there for like 1.5 hours – photoshoot? Yes, please! Definitely the best one. & Toraille Falls – smaller, still nice. Both are pretty shallow (you can stand in at hip or knee deep). There are many others, but I can’t speak to how they are.

Carnival Catamaran Cruise – Wet & Wild Excursion – this is literally THEEE best catamaran cruise I’ve done anywhere. Fresh warm banana bread and fruit in the morning, chicken wings and yummy finger foods with open bar (rum punch, margarita’s and beer) at night. This was also a sunset cruise. The crew took amazing photos with our own phones (I’m talking portrait mode without having to say, multiple angles…). We docked in Soufrière, got in the buggy’s (you must be able to drive manual). Ate at the Beacon Restaurant which has amazing views pretty good local cuisine, drove around the city a bit more, headed to Sulphur Springs (volcanic springs) – fun photos & make you “look 10 years younger” (supposedly), buggy to the Toraille waterfall for photos and a dip, then back to the catamaran for open bar, food, and watch the sunset. That is multiple excursions in one.

Tet Paul Nature trail – do this if you can’t hike the Pitons. It’s $10 pp. Low impact and can be done in like 10 minutes and has amazing views of both Pitons.

Hiking the Pitons. We didn’t get to, but we heard Petit Piton is harder because it’s steeper – takes about 3 hours and you have to use ropes to climb at one point… Gros Piton takes two hours. Can’t speak on them from experience.

Pigeon Island – in Gros Islet. Nice hike if you again can’t do the Pitons and are on that side of the island. Took about 45 mins stopping to take photos.

Beaches – Reduit Beach – clear waters, soft sand – amazing! Anse Chaset – the sand is almost black, nice for snorkeling, though we didn’t see as much like other islands we’ve visited. The beach at Pigeon Island, clear waters. First food hut had good grilled mahi-mahi. Sugar beach.

I wanted to eat at Jade Mountain Club or Dasheene (Ladera Resort) restaurants, but never made reservations, I’d suggest doing so early. They are pricer and more upscale, but have amazing view/sunsets. Also wanted to go to Hotel Chocolat and do the bean-to-bar experience and make some chocolate.

Pictures do this place NO justice. Next time I go, I’d stay in the Sugar beach or Soufrière area to skip the long rides in the car to get to those areas, make reservations at the restaurants for sunsets, and probably do all-inclusive since we explored mostly this time. Traveling while black here, I felt very welcomed. People were super helpful.

The beauty of St. Lucia will leave you speechless. Everyone knows it for the infamous Pitons that stand thousands of feet tall. I always admired them, but seeing them in person was the highlight of my trip. One thing to note is that once you get to St. Lucia in order to see the Pitons, you must travel to the town of Soufrière. You will find some nice waterfalls and volcanoes there too. Try some local food while there as well. So traveling while black in St. Lucia was no problem at all! Similar to many other Caribbean islands, the locals are majority black and they speak Creole and English. I traveled with my boyfriend, and we both felt very welcomed here. The people were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.

I vacationed in St.Lucia back in 2017 for my 9th year wedding anniversary and our trip was absolutely magical. This island has some of the most beautiful beaches and Mountain View’s. I stayed at Sandal La Toc, and this all inclusive resort was nothing short of amazing. The food was okay on the resort. The people that we met from our resort and during our excursion off the resort we’re absolutely amazing. They were funny and full of knowledge that pertains to the history of their island. We talked about the music and artist we were listening to at the time and realized that there wasn’t much of a difference. A beautiful experience it was.

I have been to St Lucia twice. It is reallu beautiful. The beaches are to die for. I stayed at Blu St Lucia both times due to affordability. Breakfast at the hotel was great. We visited Sulfur springs which is a must do when visiting. We had a tour guide he was quite interesting. He took us on a tour around the island for about 50EC. He became a friend from my first visit so we go a little discount. It was a great experience

I recently visited Saint Lucia for my birthday, honestly it wasn’t my first choice. We were all booked to visit Rio until we learned we about the visa requirement. Most of what I had heard about Saint Lucia was that it was ultra relaxing and that is exactly what I desired most for this birthday, it was amazing consolation!! When we travel we like to “live like the locals” we usually rent an Airbnb in the least touristy area, emerge ourselves in the culture. We stayed in the southern part of the island at an awesome house that was right outside of Soufriere, which is pretty much the central location to where most the islands attractions are. Such as the waterfalls, the Pitons, as well as the “walk in volcano” and sulpher baths.
The house was located about 30-45 minutes away from the airport, we rented a car which I was extremely hesitant about (they drive on the left side) but my husband, ever the adventurer felt as if he could drive. It was the best decision ever, various modes of transportation to and from the airport can be quite costly. Also because we stayed in a non tourist area there would be no options for shuttles to the various attractions. Also because we rented a car we were able to tour the island at our own pace. We went from the south end of the island to the north, stopping at various beaches and curb side food stands along the way.
We visited the Sulpher Springs, walk in volcano and waterfalls all on our own, we paid minimal entry fees and they have tour guides on site. From were we stayed we had an amazing view of the Pitons which are two huge peaks that you can climb if you’re up for the challenge, we had planned to climb the smaller one but time got away from us.
Saint Lucia a beautiful island with the most natural scenery I have ever seen, you literally get the best of both worlds the mountains and the beach on one lovely gorgeous island. During our stay on the island there wasn’t much nightlife to speak of but we did find a cool bar to watch a semi finals game. Also we arrived on a Sunday but there in a huge fish fry in Rodney bay so if you’re there on a Friday be sure to inquire about the fish fry. Also for those interested in gambling we did run across one casino.
Lastly I’m a huge foodie and I really like to eat local cuisine wherever I visit, unfortunately I did n’t enjoy the food as much this trip. A few saving graces were spots we’d stumbled upon on the side of the road and our first meal which was a home cooked meal served to us by our Airbnb host, it was the best meal of the trip!
Overall Saint Lucia is beautiful, there are a lot of cool things to do and they have some the most beautiful beaches in the world! A must visit for ultimate relaxation!!

Ohhh how I love Saint Lucia!!
I have been there twice now and my second time May 2018 was twice as nice!
My boyfriend and I spent one day in St. Lucia because it was one of our destination on a carnival cruise. We wanted to do a tour and then visit the Sulphur Springs Home of the worlds only drive-in volcano.
As soon as we got off the ship we were bombarded by a bunch of travel tour guides We chose the one that was doing what we wanted and was most affordable for $25 each American.
The tour was beautiful scenic and exciting with all the twists and turns and steep hills. The tour of the island was done on our way to the volcano, we got to the volcano we then got out of the tour bus and walked up to meet our next tour guide Who told us all about the volcano. We then got into a hot sulphur spring pool for 20 mins then took mud baths. We decided not to wash all the mud at the showers available our tour guide told us to washer under the waterfall which was a 10 minute ride away. The waterfall was my absolute favourite part of the trip, at first I was scared but with the guidance from other tourists We went right under the waterfall and washed off.
