Swaziland was a country we visited on our way back from Mozambique. Its another country within South Africa. Swaziland is a very relaxing country, the scenery and environment just the best way to finish a hectic holiday of just relaxing . Swaziland is now known as Eswatini by their King. :)
Swaziland has lots of game reserves to visit , so very tranquil and nature scenery . We got to stay at the Hlane Royal National Park , in a cute cottage – there is no TV or any distractions so it is a full experience of you with Nature. We saw so many animals, got to bond with each other cause no phone networks as well.

Swaziland, recently renamed Eswatini, is a small country land locked by South Africa and Mozambique at the very southern tip of Africa. Although being engulfed by two democratic states, Swaziland is unique in that it is the last remaining monarchy of Africa. The current leader is King Mswati III. On the 19th of April 2018 Swaziland celebrated 50 years of independence from the British and this was also a joint celebration as it is the birthday of the King (who also turned 50).
Swaziland is a country that is rich in culture and heritage and this can be seen through interactions with locals who are most certainly patriotic, but also, by the traditional ceremonies which are held during the year. One such ceremony is “Umhlanga Reed Dance”, an 8-day ceremony which is held annually in late August or September. This ceremony is for childless, unmarried women, who will cut reeds and present them to the queen mother. The purpose of this ceremony is to preserve the chastity of the women, provide tribute labor for the queen mother and show solidarity by working with other women.
The currency used in Swaziland is Emalangeni (plural), or Lilangeni(singular). The conversion rate is approximately as follows: E10.00 = R10.00 = $1.45. Some shops accept South African Rands, but trading in dollars is not common and it is advised to convert your money prior.
The geographical features of Swaziland are simply phenomenal – with the exception of the beach, Swaziland possess every major geographical feature. Specifically, Swaziland is home to Sibebe Rock, the second largest rock formation after Ayers Rock in Australia. Swaziland is also home to some of the oldest iron ore deposits in the world.

With all of its mountain ranges and hiking trails, being active and adventurous is a guarantee. The people are friendly, and ever so helpful, and this makes your stay in this beautiful place even more pleasant.
