I lived in Ankara, Turkey 3 years (2013-2016). Ankara is more modern than other areas. The city has a huge selection of shopping, food and nightlife. I was able to go back to visit around 2023. Thinks had changed a little from the natural disasters that hit them.
When there I found there was a large African community that I was able to connect with. They were extremely welcoming.
In Ankara they catered to children. Almost every restaurant had an area for your children to play with supervision while you enjoyed a meal.
The food…10000/10. So flavorful and fresh.
It was also extremely cheap when I was there. Unsure of the money comparison currently.
