I traveled to Aventura (North Miami) for work and this area is a VIBE, but not very welcoming at all.
The town is upscale and has amazing food options (no fast food though). It’s predominantly affluent white hispanic and white , so there’s absolutely an attitude of looking at us like we’re “other” or just flat out ignoring us.
I had a mix of negative and positive service experiences and my advice is, if you speak Spanish or make an effort you will get better service and sometimes more friendliness.
Overall, I think Aventura is a cute area to pop into for food or group hangs, but I’d rather be in a more black or diverse area next time I come to Miami.
