Yes this area has a Cotton Festival near by every year definitely be safe. Had stopped at a gas station and saw posters for it.
I do not recommend traveling through this town. I was pulled over and had my car searched for no reason. Very white area, with very unsafe cops. I was lucky to be traveling with my white partner
