Daughter and I was on a road trip. We booked the Quality Inn in Lincoln… I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! We ended up not staying there; Strike 1: the at the counter issued us the wrong key (we heard people talking in that room and our key didnt work). I let him know, he played dumb and issued us different keys to a different room. Strike 2: went to the room… the door was already open!! We went back downstairs to inform him and he played dumb. I asked for a refund and he stated he didnt know how to do it. We left and stayed at another hotel. Being in Lincoln just felt a little off. Something didnt seem quite right about the town. Definitely wont be going back to Lincoln and don’t recommend going. 3/10 dont recommend.
Only reason why they have points on the board is because of a food service employee who showed us so much love. And the cute little park. He and the park gets a 10/10. Lincoln -10/10. You might have a different experience but that was ours and we couldnt wait to leave

Lincoln, Nebraska is a small town with big town ambitions, but they are trapped by consistently voting against their own interests. Last lynching was only 101 years ago in nearby Omaha, Nebraska where it got so bad they called in the national guard to restore order. The movie Boys Don’t Cry was about a rape/murder that took place against a trans man in Lincoln in the eary 1990s.The mainly German descendant population talks a big talk, all live and let live, but they’re just not racist to your face since they seem to think that’s what being polite is. You will get profiled and pulled over, especially if you have out of town plates. Cop in between Lincoln and Omaha pulled me over and was convinced I was a drug mule from Chicago (where I live)because I was driving a junk car. Later, I found out I was lucky since the same officer shot up a college building with an AR while chasing some kid a few years earlier. There is an insidious undercurrent to the state (which was the site of border skirmishes during the Bleeding Kansas incidents when slave owners flocked to NE and KS to try and make them slave states before the war). The motto there is “Nebraska Nice” which is fitting cause nice is derived from the Latin word for ignorant.
