Don’t let the name fool you. This town was very people friendly and full of variety. Every type of food, plenty of shopping and near by attractions. Only stayed in the area one night at a Airbnb. Great place as well. Host was Brooke and the home offered a very peaceful and quiet atmosphere. With great amenities to include Netflix, snacks and access to back yard. All were very economical. Would definitely return to the area if needed in the future.
Food was good as well. Had some local dishes and seafood. However, if you’re comfortable with names you know that was available as well, from McDonald’s to Taco Bell. Lowe’s and Walmart were also not too far away.
Went shopping at the local Krogers. Great experience and variety. Definitely a black friendly environment.

Traveling While Black
Lynchburg sounds not too welcoming but I went to college down there and I had absolutely no problems. I honestly loved it there. I worked for papa John’s as a delivery driver never had an issue or unsettling feeling while delivering. I believe there’s a lot of shootings going on but that’s everywhere.
