I’ve visited Malibu multiple times for work. It is a beach town. Think a posh Atlantic City.
There are some shops and cute little boutiques and restaurants near the top surfing locations.
I wouldn’t visit here if I didn’t want to play in the really cold Pacific Ocean.
For Black folks, know this is a super white and rich area. I wasn’t treated poorly while dining out there but I did get a few curious looks.
Be careful of the mountain lions and stuff after wildfires. Wild life has to move when their homes burn up. But there are some amazing hiking trails as long as you stay careful.
Malibu is a great short adventure trip and eventhough you may receive a few curious glances. You’ll be safe overall.

I loved my experience at Malibu Wines Safari. You are able to drive through the hills in Malibu… enjoy great views.. the staff gives you enough time to drink wine and take lots of pictures. You are able to feed the animals. The best part was meeting STANLEY!! He is truly a gentle giant! You are able to feed him as well. Although there have been lots of fires near the winery the owner has been very proactive with rebuilding the parts that were affected.

Although we live in NYC, when my new hubbie and I had a stopover in LA, I had to check-out Malibu Wine Safari. It is only about an hour away from the airport (assuming you don’t run into LA traffic). The wines are tasty! You get to try 3 reds and 3 whites and you can go back for as many additional pours as you want. Some of the wines have pretty funny names too, like Kendrick Llama lol. Combine that with beautiful scenery, great weather, and friendly animals like Stanley the giraffe and you are destined to have an awesome time. After our 1.5 hour safari tour, we stopped by Malibu Wines, their open air tasting room/beer garden, for another glass of wine and just enjoyed each other’s company. This was a great way to start our honeymoon.

I don’t know much about the city of Malibu but I do know they have wine lol. The Malibu Wine Safari was a great experience. It is the perfect combination between wine tasting and adventure where you can get up close and personal with a variety of animals. There is one special animal on this 1000+ acre ranch named Stanley. He stands 18 feet high and is a bit of a ladies man lol. Stanley is a giraffe. He is also quite the super star. He was in Hangover 3, in Skittles and Nike commercials, and even was on the Playboy Channel (risque Stanley…risque).

Also, the safari guides are super nice and make the experience even more enjoyable as they give you some great information on the wines, the animals, and the history of Saddle Rock Ranch. This safari is pretty popular as Kim Kardashian was there the day before I went. I am really appreciative that Malibu Wine Safari gave me the opportunity to experience this amazing place. I would highly recommend it for a unique experience.
