The Howard Johnson was literally under construction. Killed 3 flies within 5 minutes. Then the AC unit in the room was coming apart. The clothes rail was broken from the wall. It had been closed down several times. I went to the Fairmont down the street. Old but much better service.
Stayed at the Howard Johnson hotel in Merilville IN. Very nice staff. To be nice, the hotel is outdated and needs some TLC. The room was affordable and clean. Has a lot of food options nearby and shopping available. If you need just a place to stay for the night, no frills, I would recommend this.
