My wife and I came to Eddy(Odessa) for a wedding. Although the ceremony was nice, there is absolutely nothing here. They’re almost finished building the COSTCO and there’s a Walmart here, but not much else. Drinking is the town’s nightlife so bring an extra liver and brush up on your Spanish. Uber drivers do not speak much English.

There’s absolutely nothing to do and if you’re wanting to stay somewhere clean, be prepared to spend.

For those who live in the DFW area and headed to Big Bend National Park or Marfa, TX, half way there is the Monahans Sandhills state park in Monahans desert. We overnighted here so we could catch the sunset. It is a beautiful spot for amazing sandunes which resembles the sahara. Lots of pretty flowers and plants growing out the sand and hills of nothibg but sand it makes you think you are in another country. Great for families with kids where you can rent a sled/disc and go sledding. Picnic tables and camping spots too
