Southern Kitchen – This restaurant is located in Historic Jackson Ward. normally order the shrimp and grits, and the food is remarkable. The shrimp is fried to perfection and is well seasoned. I love the customer service and the atmosphere is amazing.
Great city good food friendly people that will tell you about great places to eat. They have trails great for hiking, but the traffic to get there from northern cities can be a challenge. If you like history, Richmond is the capitol of Virginia with beautiful statues and historic monuments it’s the south so be ware of the confederate history.
One of the main staples of the DMV, Richmond, VA is the center of great food, great people, and great culture. In the heart is the infamous Mama J’s where you eat comfort food of soul and home. A short distance from Mama J’s is the Black History Museum and Cultural Center as well as the Altria Theater where you can see the latest production of Broadway shows. Take a Saturday stroll of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens before completing your trip with a Riverfront Canal Cruise through the smooth waters of downtown Richmond.
