I’m a white woman who grew up outside this town. The general area around it can be dicey, but this town specifically is very much still a sundown town. They will claim they aren’t, and they will lie right to your face and act like they’re glad you’re there, but I have overheard more white men than I can count in my lifetime laughing and bragging about the fact they absolutely ARE a sundown town. They have a very large 4th of July festival that is often advertised statewide as “one of the most quaint” and “best small town celebration” type things. PLEASE stay far away for your own safety. I just learned of this app and immediately downloaded it to come let folks know so they can stay safe.
