Decided to take a solo birthday trip to Santa Fe for 2 days. To save money, I flew into Albuquerque and drove a rental to North Santa Fe, which is about an hour drive. Overall I enjoyed my stay. The people were nice and mostly keep to themselves. The Peoh museum is a must visit.
I stayed at the Homesuites By Hilton just 20 minutes north of Downtown. A bit dated but staff is nice and the mountains are gorgeous
Be careful driving on Tortoise Trail (formally Route 66 I think). I got pulled over for going 63 in a 55 via a speed trap. It’s a wonderful scenic route however.

Traveling While Black
We loved visiting Santa Fe! I highly recommend for a girls trip. We stayed at the Casa Culinaria, which is a super cute hotel. The owner is a French- Spanish chef who prepares four course meals for brunch. The hotel is with in waking distance of downtown Santa Fe. We also visited the Ojo Hot Springs. A day pass was 80 dollars per person. We had access to nine hot springs. Very relaxing. The restaurant at Ojo was affordable and the food and service were great.
I would also recommend the Plaza Cafe for delicious affordable meals.
For a fancy meal, I would recommend Cafe Pasquals. Get there as early as possible if you want to put your name on the list.
