Meteora is a 3 hour drive from Thessaloniki, also in northern Greece. This location is famous for Greek Orthodox monasteries that were built on top of rock formations that are between 1300 – 2000 ft high. The monasteries were established during Europe’s Middle Ages. On a clear day the views are amazing. This is a interesting destination if you like history and/or enjoy hiking. No issues traveling while Black.
