As a solo Black female traveler who doesn’t mind exploring adventure, I highly recommend Down to Earth (formerly Glowing Adventures) in Waitomo, New Zealand.
On this tour, you literally go down to earth via intricate caves and encounter fresh water, ultimately arriving at the pinnacle of bioluminescence, glow worms! The tour guides on this trip are fantastic and make you feel at ease. I felt challenged and appreciated while my eyes were amazed by the magnificence of the glow worms. I felt like I was looking at the night sky but they were worms.
Definitely challenge yourself physically and educationally by making your way to Waitomo. You won’t be disappointed.
