My husband and I just returned from a family event at Whiteman AFB. Technical issues prevented us from getting base access the day we arrived, so we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Warrington, MO. We weren’t sure when we would get clearance, so my daughter booked a room for two nights. The room was clean, and comfortable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast that includes pancakes, sausage links and patties, biscuits, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and so much more. The issue on base was resolved the next morning, so we only stayed overnight. The hotel charged for the night we stayed along with a cancellation fee, which was fair in my opinion. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Warrington if you’re in the area and have an unexpected change in plans. I’ve traveled to Whiteman many times since my daughter has been stationed there and my experiences in the surrounding towns of Knob Noster, Warrington, and Sedalia have been a mixed bag, but for the most part the people there are Midwest nice. My husband had a weird experience at a Subway in the Walmart shopping center near the hotel, so I don’t recommend going there, other than that the visit was nice. On our flight back we had a layover in Atlanta and had time to grab something to eat. We stopped at TGI Friday’s and were served by Janae. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ask for Janae if you’re ever at ATL! I rarely remember the names of our servers, but I remember her! This lady is so pleasant, observant, and engaging. Just a true professional. Overall an amazing trip, despite the hiccup. I’m leaving the link to the Holiday Inn Express below in case anyone plans to visit Whiteman AFB and has to adjust their plans on short notice. It’s not Black owned, but it is family-owned and very accommodating. Safe travels, fam!💕
