I lived here from 2006 to 2015. The people are nice and hospitable. Despite being one of 4 black kids in our entire school district, I rarely felt outcast or shunned. Of course, you might be the only black person they’ve seen in years, and they might be surprised/curious, but rarely if ever aggressive or violent. If you’re traveling or moving here, make sure you can do your hair yourself though. Not many great options that I remember. As an extra side note, this place convinced me that ghosts and aliens are real. 👽
