Most people when visiting Egypt they only stay in Cairo. I would suggest if you ever visit Egypt go to Alexandria as well. It’s about 2hrs+ from Cairo. It’s amazing. The food is so much better. They have the citadel there which is breathtaking which teach you about the soldiers of Egypt. The view is amazing it face the Mediterranean sea and the entire city. In Alexandria they also have the biggest library in all Africa which consists of 400 thousand books. They also have underground tombs place you can visit it’s very interesting they show you how the dead were transferred down and got buried taking out their organs, putting salt on them, letting them dry out then wrap and bury them. Most believe they will return. Also its tradition for them to come have lunch with the dead. Alexandria is so different from Cairo from the people , how they live, history everything. Its definitely worth that 2+ hrs drive.
