I’ve been in Auburn for a few camping trips. People generally keep to themselves, but I definitely felt more protected having my white male friend on the trip with me. The Northern Fork of the American River is beautiful and worth visiting. Also, there were other POC at the campsites which added to my comfort.

Traveling While Black
Alburn Ca, the small town with home elevators prior to 2010!! Alburn is a small northern California town that isn’t too well known to outsiders. I remember my parents we looking at home models, just because lol- mom liked to look at model homes to get design ideas- and they found one in the Alburn area. This home was HUGE! It was so big that the home had an elevator inside complete with a home intercom! That being said, I would definitely not recommend our people go touring Alburn, just because of the demographics….little color and high echelon, that is just my personal opinion though.
