Bartow, FL is one of those places that I feel like people don’t really know about unless they live around here. I live right between Bartow and Lakeland, so I’m in Bartow pretty often, and it definitely has a more small-town, relaxed feel compared to Lakeland. Downtown Bartow is really cute, especially if you like historic buildings, local shops, restaurants, and just walking around without the craziness of Orlando or Tampa.

There are some good local restaurants and little businesses around downtown, and Mary Holland Park is a nice place to go if you want to be outside, walk around, have a picnic, or spend some time by the water. Bartow also has a lot of history, which you can see in the historic homes and downtown area.

What I like most about Bartow is that it still feels like an actual community. It’s not really somewhere I’d recommend if you’re looking for nightlife or a huge list of tourist attractions, but if you want a quiet Florida town with local restaurants, parks, history, and a slower pace, it’s a nice place to visit. And being right between Bartow and Lakeland makes it super convenient because you can get to Lakeland really quickly for more shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and things to do.

I’d say Bartow is more of a “come explore and enjoy the local atmosphere” kind of place than a traditional vacation destination. It’s definitely one of those Central Florida areas that I appreciate more after living around here.
