It really depends on where you go. It’s generally a friendly place. The Toss & Fire pizza in Township 5 is fast, friendly, and delicious. However, Zaman Coffee House in the same shopping center can be off-putting, to say the least. I’ve noticed that the owners don’t prioritize Black customers the same as they do white and Arab customers. That seems to be the general vibe of the area is that it’s 50/50. There are a decent amount of POC in Camillus. However, most businesses are not owned by POC. Depending on where you go, you will still get looked at or side eyed to make sure you’re not stealing. Especially if you’re alone.
