Memphis is a very small town in upstate. It doesn’t have many shops but it’s a beautiful place. Mostly farm land. The people seem nice, not hostile or rude. It’s one of those places where everyone is nice to everyone until you start talking about politics. There are still some strong MAGA people around, but they aren’t violent. They just wear propaganda proudly.
The food is simple. There are mostly small family owned restaurants. Some basic Chinese food, lots a little diners, nothing that really stood out but nothing that was bad either.
There isn’t much to do in Memphis itself, but there’s some small towns outside of Memphis, and Syracuse is about 30 minutes away. There is plenty to do in Syracuse.
There are POC scattered around. Some are friendly, and some feel more closely related to paper. Sometimes, it feels like they prefer to be the only Black person in the room.
Beautiful views and quick to drive through.
