We traveled to see Bill Clinton’s birthplace. It’s a small town. No one bothered us. I was fine, I’m from a small town. White people looked, and all black people spoke. My daughter spent her entire life in Dallas and was ready to leave. Black people lived across the railroad tracks and sat on their porches.
