Madison is the capital city of Wisconsin and I grew up here, unfortunately. It’s a city with a large 4-year university in the middle of it (UW-Madison). You’ll find many, many bars here & local restaurants that are proud to serve Wisconsin cheese and beer. I think there’s a lot to do here, but sometimes the motivation to do them is halted by the weird vibes.
There are brown and black folks here, but not nearly enough for my comfort levels. There is a lot of covert racism imbedded in the schools, companies and attitudes of the people. The surrounding towns are even worse (Monona, Verona, Middleton, Waunakee, etc). I’d recommend using caution and standing up for yourself if anyone tries you!
