I ubered into Monaco, but you cannot uber around it or out of there.  So be prepared with your transportation options.  Upon arrival I was dropped at this cool outdoor mall, all the bougie stores.  I popped in one shop and asked the male sales attendant “Do you have anything special or specific to Monaco” His response “Just me” we both giggle.  :) Then I explain a bit more of what I mean and he and now his colleague are both saying they only have what I was looking for in St. Tropez. All good. I say “well ok thanks so much”  he says “Should I just follow you now”  I said “Yep happy to take you home” lol!  I can’t make this up if I tried.  Foolery at its best! Headed to one of the casinos, gave the local economy 20 bucks, had a champagne cocktail and rolled out!  ExperiANNNNCCEE!  As my friend Ken would say! lol Careful trying to get taxis in this town too.  Some are specifically for certain areas and therefore aren’t licensed to drive around Monaco. Took a cute little train tour around the city, only 10 bucks.  It starts and ends at one location, and it is NOT hop on and off.  This tour will allow you to get some great pics throughout the city.

Travel times between these locations Nice to Eze to Monaco and back to Nice.  40 mins max.  I think it was 15 mins to Eze and another 20ish to Monaco, this is why Nice is a great central location.  Cannes was super close as well, but I just drove thru it on my way to St. Tropez fyi.

I live near and work in Monaco.
As a world traveler you just need 2 ou 3 days to visit Monaco, Nice and Cannnes. And don’t come in Summer or during big events like Formula one – Rolex Tennis competition. Better to come around September to November. It’s always summer with Sun and not lot of people and tourists.

For Monaco the place to be is TÊTE DE CHIEN best view ever. In Monaco you need 4 hours to see the city, the Casino – the port and the Prince palace. But the place the visite in Monaco is JARDIN EXOTIQUE.

Monaco was a one day trip for me. I flew in from saint tropez on a helicopter to gamble at the world’s famous monte carlo casino which i must say was not really impressive in person, the art work on the ceilings are fabulous though. From saint tropez you can get to Monaco by boat as well the helicopter ride was quicker which was less than 40 mins if I remember correctly.I stayed at metropole hotel which is the best hotel in monte carlo and everything was walking distance from there. Please note Monaco is expensive only wealthy people live there so that says a lot.

Make sure you’re loaded with your coins when visiting Monaco because it is EXPENSIVE!!! The cheapest meal you could probably get is at Mc Donalds’s for about €10. If you’re thinking of dining at a decent restaurant, the average price for a meal is about €30 – €40.

The views are breathtaking and amazing with the fancy yachts at the situated at the Port.

The fairmont hotel, hotel hermitage and hotel de Paris are all situated in a good location close to shops, restaurants and all the designer stores. They are also all located within a 5 minute walk from each other.

    Places to visit:
    The Prince’s Car Collection Museum
    Oceanographic Museum
    Naval Museum
    Stamps & Coins Museum
    Casino de Monte Carlo
    Jardin Exotique

I must say that their customer service is 10/10 and they’re polite but I guess that comes with the territory of being in a small city surrounded by wealthy rich people.

Monaco is one of those places you check off the list honestly. I wasn’t impressed with the country, but I also get I didn’t show up with thousands to blow. I took a day trip from Nice, and I think that was more than enough. After going into the casino, winning a few dollars, we left.

    Few things to do:
    old town of Monaco
    Prince of Monaco’s Palace
    world famous Monte Carlo Casino
Definitely take the bus up and down the hill, you will be so tired!

Don’t hesitate to contact me I have itineraries of all my trips and happy to share with you: info@iamdrwanderlust.com

Went on a cruise with NCL and Monaco was a place I had a short tour of. Monaco is a tiny independent city-state on France’s Mediterranean coastline, here you can find rich people with their fancy cars & fancy boats Also, the famous Monte Carlo casino is located here. They also hold race car races. Monaco is a “principality” city-state meaning they have a prince but no queens kings or princesses. I hear the prince of Monaco is a very humble man. Monaco makes for a good day trip not overnight because it’s so small & expensive to stay. It is a very beautiful place to see.
