My gps rerouted me from I-83 threw Biggs hwy to John f Kennedy memorial hwy on the way back from charlotte nc (there’s construction threw dc apparently ) while we didn’t see anyone (likely Cuzz it was 3am) the road was dark and most of the houses were covered in American flags and were old plantation houses there’s this one house with 3 red lights on the outside of it that made me jump and ask google Gemini it’s history one I found out it’s one of the infamous home towns for the kkk I told my husband speed up but be aware of where we are I lowered the lights in the car and sat back the vibe of the area alone is very your not welcome and hurry up and leave . -0/10 do not recommend

Avoid Rising Sun if you can and drive through it and keep going north or south. This town has been categorized as a sundown town in the past and nothings changed. As mentioned previously they take lock mechanisms off doors so Black folks cant use the restroom before offering you a key.
