I love Sausalito. I’ve grown up here my whole life. It is a tourist destination for good reason. It is majority white people living here, but when you are downtown during peak tourist season you can’t tell because people from all over the world come to visit. It is a 10 minute drive to San Francisco and has 3 beautiful nearby nature places to visit: Marin Headlands, Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, and Stinson Beach. I have never felt unsafe as a black woman, but the community living here is incredibly wealthy older people, so they are often out of touch.
