I am going to skip to day 9 and 10 of my roadtrip. We traveled to Selma, AL. This is definitely a nice little town! We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Selma off of Highland. It was about a 6 minute drive from the places we were going to visit. We stayed there a day. You definitely need an entire day here! You have to go to the National Voting Rights Musuem and Institute. We ended up meeting the owner and we got a tour of both nusuems and parts of Selma! It is Black owned and the owner is very nice, engaging and passionate! Now they definitely need us!! They formed fully on their own and used artists and their own funds! People who come may go to the Civil Rights Memorial across the street but don’t visit the musuem. It is a must go. The storytelling, the history and the exhibits are both educational, engaging and it brings you back but also makes the connection to the present. You also have to get a tour of Selma from the National Voting Rights Musuem. You get a rich history and find out things you can’t find through the books! We also got to go to the Enslavement and Civil War Musuem that is also owned by the same owners of the National Voting Rights Musuem. We only stayed a day so we had food from the Reflections Coffee Shoppe. They have really good smoothies and their salads are good. So far I have had no issues driving in the south. #roadtrip
