This is my third time in St Louis and 2nd time staying at the St Louis Station Hotel downtown. Great place with plenty to do. Soccer stadium is right across the street. Had the pleasure of watching a game. Plenty of restaurants attached to the hotel and in the nearby area. If you’re ever in the area try these places out. The Soda Fountain. Great huge ice cream treats and all the typical candy you could think of.

the Train Shed a great restaurant for lunch. Plenty of options and they are all good. Depending on your budget it could get pricey but you will be full. Pappys BBQ: call ahead of going they do run out of food, but the ribs and fries are great. Sugar Fire Smokehouse; also call ahead. They run out of food as well and close relatively early. You won’t find much open too late so plan early and call ahead to be safe. Sugar fire has all your BBQ needs, local drinks and cool staff. Landry’s great seafood spot. Can also be a bit pricey but ask about the specials and sometimes you can get some discounted tickets from hotel staff. Landry’s is Also attached to the hotel so you don’t have to go far. There are some other attractions and eateries in the court so be sure to check it all out. Don’t forget to hit the St Louis Aquarium, go zip-lining and climbing again all in one place. Or you can just hang out in the pool. The hotel has a tour and a story so check that out too. Very interesting.

There are some good eating places in the hotel itself and the bartenders are awesome!!!! Definitely a great family place. They have two wonderful light shows. One indoors by the Grand Hall and the other outside by the pond. This one was not working this time, but once it gets back up and running it’s a great sight to see. Of course take an afternoon to go down to the Arch. Great museum and gift shop. Not that expensive either which is a plus.

All n all there’s more to talk about but check it out yourself, it won’t disappoint. Definitely black friendly and a kids zone…

St Louis, MO has a LOT of very affordable things you can do! We enjoyed the free tour of the National Great Rivers Museum in Alton, Il. The Gate Way Arch Museum and Park is also free and really neat, the St Louis Zoo is also nice family friendly fun. St Louis has a rich history including that of the Busch family of Anheuser-Busch and owners of Budweiser, which you can learn all about and meet some Budweiser Clydesdale horses at Grant’s Farm, Budweiser Brewery, and Warm Springs Ranch.

yes so going towards downtown in that area it seems to be relatively safe right around the museums are and the train line and things like that you start getting into the hood areas you know things happen things pop off but it’s very easy to tell the downtown versus the hood areas you’ll see like a half burned down church or lots of trash in the street and I’ll tell you straight up that there is activity action going on but Forest Park seems to be a decent area Union square seems to be decent and various other parts traffic can be crazy around the highway and also if you go down towards the river it can get sketchy around the night time and kind of under the bridges away from the helicopter tours and the boat tours going down river it can get kind of sketchy we’re up wherever upriver as well around the area upriver that’s talking about with some of the homeless people there is is super weird and creepy wax museum it’s just creepy because the wax models are not as well lit and there’s a lot of darkness in there and they also have an underground horror area with various types of terrible wax things that you probably don’t want to see but it’s there or last time I checked Joe’s there if that’s your thing it was kind of fun

St Louis is a great location while traveling black. There are many black owned business. The locals are friendly. the barbecue is delish. I would recommend St. Louis as a family destination. A lot of free parks and museums. The zoo is second only to San Diego zoo. Do visit if you get the opportunity.
