I had a international phone plan for this place and it didn’t seem to come into effect until I was about perhaps 5 miles into Tijuana many people were telling me this area was dangerous with various types of crime by seem to stay where a lot of the local people were and that seemed to work out for me although the bus and various forms transportation go out of service around midnight you may be able to catch a local type of uber wish they call a Didi but don’t Bank on it because apparently the cartel is around I got charged a hundred bucks just to take me maybe 12 miles outside of the city so you don’t want to cross the street unless you look both ways because there may be a car barreling through also there is a lot of white pickup trucks and those are either law enforcement or something like that a lot of people did not really want to help me with directions when I asked them so perhaps they weren’t helpful in that way I didn’t necessarily feel in danger but I knew that there was some sort of situation going on there but things can pop off real quick if you get that energy about you

Traveling While Black
I lived in Tijuana for a year. The cops robbed me and my cousin once while at a flea market of sorts. Other then that. Its was peaceful and fun. Late nights eating a tacos stands talking and joking and dranking. I would move there if i was single. Super affordable and you can live like a king.

Traveling While Black
What isn’t there to do in Tijuana? You can get black out drunk in the clubs and bars, go to the beach in Rosarito (and get lit there too, beach bars everywhere), get BOMB tacos for the change you’d put in a parking meter, watch a soccer game in the stadium, or get cheaper flights out of the Tijuana airport opposed to San Diego’s or LA’s. Honestly, I love Tijuana! Despite all the bad things you hear about the place, it’s full of beauty and culture. The only hard part for me is driving past the border, I don’t like to see people suffering. Also, driving back up in the border traffic can be annoying but make sure whoever has the aux cord got the bops and it’ll pass before you know it! Stop by any bar on the beach in Rosarito— Playas De Rosarito for poppin’ drinks at a fraction of the price of a drink at a bar in the states, get a massage on the beach, eat some tacos, ride some horses through the waves and my favorite part about it all, it’s a 30 minutes drive from downtown San Diego! I’ve been so many times it’s become a fun party trick when people visit me. The people love us too, they love our skin and they respect us! I’ve never had a problem with it. Definitely go! So grab your passport and gas up if you’re driving. Don’t let the stories of crooked cops and the cartel stop you from enjoying all the beauty Mexico has to offer.
