I went with a group of 8 to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday and stayed on a Waikiki Beach Resort. Hilton Hawaiian Village was a great place to stay because of day and night activities, beach access, several pools, mountain and ocean view rooms and more. Over our 4 days there, we ventured off resort for a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Star of Honolulu and a tour of Pearl Harbor National Memorial. We also attended a Starlight Luau, Fireworks on the beach while at the resort. It was my second time on Oahu but a first for the group I planned for. They really enjoyed the mix of activities, culture and time to relax. Everything I planned for was also wheelchair accessible. Before going, I wondered if it would be too short of a trip but because it was a short trip we really maximized our time and enjoyed it before traveling home. I would recommend Oahu for families, couples or even solo – plenty to do. Keep it mind most of the Waikiki Beach area is metropolitan city vibes. Tip: Plan ahead and you may be able to get around Waikiki/Honolulu without renting a car. I booked a roundtrip private transport for the airport and most off site activities offered an extra transportation shuttle option which made it easy to get to and from our hotel and directly to the activities. Enjoy!
