Winston-Salem North Carolina is a safe place to visit, I’ve worked there for many years. Winston Salem is home to an HBCU Winston Salem State University (WSSU), home to the International Black Theater Festival, and has a local BGR! chapter. This city is full of black history, artsy, and good food. Forsyth Seafood is a black owned business you should swing by and get a good meal for a great price. This probably isn’t a vacation destination unless you have a specific reason to be in town but there are plenty of places to eat, easy to get around, walking/bike trails and nice parks throughout the city.

Winston-Salem is a predominantly black neighborhood with a large school. Be prepared to see young black students, and things that a attract them. Clubs late night food spots in low-cost entertainment. I’ve only been there for two days, but I would make sure that you come protected

My husband is from Winston Salem and I am from KY. When we travel back home for him there is always a seafood spot I have to visit everytime. Forsyth Seafood is the best local seafood joint around. I am especially fond of their fried oysters. Forsyth Seafood and Market has been open since 1984. Thwy not only sell some the best fried, steamed, baked and grilled seafood. Not only can you sit in their 100 seat restaurant but you can also grab fresh seafood to cook at home. Definitely a place to stop each and every time I visit Winston!!!
