New York holds a special place in my heart. I love visiting a few times a year and each time get to discover something new. There’s no shortage of great food from all around the world.
Stop by Momofuku for fresh and flavorful Asian food(get the pork buns!) or Lamalo in Midtown for a fun Mediterranean dining experience (served family style so great for large groups). I never leave New York without stopping at Milk Bar for some cookies. While some restaurants in Manhattan may make a big dent in your wallet, there are plenty of great hole in the wall spots that deliver great food at an affordable price. My favorite thing to do is walk around the city with no plan and see where I end up. I always find such great and unique little spots.
I particularly did not care for the local food. I had heard the food in London was average but of course had to try for myself. The traditional English breakfast was ok at best and definitely lacking in robust flavors. I still don’t understand the beans for breakfast thing! However, I did enjoy several meals of other ethnic cuisines.
Be sure to get a reservation at Brigadiers for amazing Indian food, great assortment of dishes. They do a special curry night menu on Mondays where you can sample various curries not on the regular menu.
Food and drinks are amazing and so affordable. Tapas consist of the main dishes and are a perfect way to sample a wide range of flavors. Bubó is a must, it’s a bit of an elevated dining experience with amazing tapas served up in non-traditional ways. The ultimate foodie restaurant! It’s also a chocolatier with amazing desserts so grab some to take home before leaving. If you’re looking for a more traditional dining experience, Pepito was a great find for Catalonian sandwiches and traditional favorites like patatas bravas and croquetas. Would definitely go back to Barcelona for the food alone!
