Malaysia was one of my favorite Asian countries to visit. My very first impression was " wooow! It's very clean and nice here. " I was coming straight from Thailand, which was not so clean lol . I stayed at Mercu Summer Suites in downtown Kuala Lumpur. It was right next to the KL and Twin Towers, which was nice because they were on our list of places to visit. My friend and I went to have lunch in the KL Tower observation deck. It was rotating while we were seating down, which was so cool. It's really slow though, so you have to pay close attention. It costed us about $32 for admission, and to get a window seat for lunch . They offered a buffet with a lot of good food options, which was nice. However, if you can afford it, I would recommend having dinner there instead. I feel like it would be so much more beautiful at night. I also went to a hiking Airbnb experience. It was absolutely amazing and forced to get out of my comfort zone. The tour consisted of hiking to get to two waterfalls that we showered and dove at. The guides packed very delicious lunches, and dropped us off to Batu Caves at the end of the activity. The Batu Caves was really fun to explore. My favorite thing about it was all the cute monkeys that were hanging around . They are very sneaky so I recommend being very careful because they'll literally snatch anything they see. One monkey tore my friend's bag, stole my yogurt and ran away lol . Another one stole her water bottle, opened it, and started drinking. I was so chocked but it was so funny to watch . Finally, I recommend that anybody who visit KL should go Petaling Street and Central Market Kuala Lumpur. You can find almost anything you are looking for soooooooo cheap. I bought some clothing items, jewelry, accessories, and souvenir as well . Central Market is indoors , which is nice because it's air conditioned. Malaysia can be really hot and it can be really uncomfortable when walking around for hours looking for stuff in Petaling Street. One last thing, if you are in KL try to stop by Bukit Bintang. They have amazing fresh street food, as well as street musicians. One night, my friends and I hung out with a bunch of Blues musicians that were performing outside of 7 eleven. We bought packs of beers and were just drinking while they took turns singing their hearts out until morning. It was honestly the highlight of my time in KL.

Senegal is hands down one of the best countries to visit in West Africa so I urge everybody to consider it when making plans to travel to Africa. Senegal is very beautiful and affordable. Most people speak French, and Wolof (the national language) so if you are anglophone, it might be a bit challenging for you but you will still be able to communicate. When visiting Senegal, I recommend making a stop at the Goree Island, known for its role in the slave trade. Goree is a bit expensive but definitely worth seeing. No need to spend money on booking a hotel because I personally believe that a full day is more than enough. You can only get there by boat but the fare is relatively cheap. Another popular place in Senegal is Saly Portudal. It takes a little less than 2 hours to drive down there through the new express route. Saly is absolutely beautiful and has that island vibe to it. My friends and I like to escape there when Dakar gets a bit too hectic or boring. It's the type of place you definitely want to stay for about a week or more because it is that beautiful and relaxing. Most people book hotels, however, I personally think it's best to book a villa with a group of people. It is more fun that way and a lot cheaper. Îles de la Madeleine or also called Îles de Serpent is another amazing place you go to for quick getaway or beach day . Sad to admit but I have never been there before. I always make plans to go down there when I visit Senegal but never actually got the chance to .. But it's on my bucket list for my next visit to Senegal so I'm definitely looking forward to it. Besides that, Senegalese people absolutely love the beach so most of our restaurants, hookah bars , and lounges are by the beach. A few of my favs are : Chez Fatou, Sharkys, White Dream, Cosmo, La Cabanne du Surfeur , Creperie La Prainha, Radisson.

Thailand was one of the countries I visited as part of my mini Southeast Asia tour. I instantly fell in love with the country because of its people and culture. For some reason it reminded me a lot of Senegal, my home country. While in Bangkok, I stayed at YOLO Bangkok Hotel. I found the hotel on airbnb, however, looking back I wish I would have stayed in a hostel. YOLO was very nice and affordable but hostels bare way cheaper and it is also a nice way to meet new people that are traveling as well. I only stayed in Bangkok for two days, therefore, I did not get to do much. One of the spots I hit though, was Chatuchak Market. It is a market that comes alive on weekend nights ( Friday - Sunday ) and you can literally find EVERYTHING (even food ) for so cheap. Needless to say that I was in heaven lol . I bought some clothes, a purse, and some gifts to bring back for about $87 (yes, your money goes a looong way in Asia). I also participated in a floating boat tour that I found on Airbnb. It costed me about $32 but it was all worth it. It included the boat tour, lunch, a visit to a temple and orchid plantation . I enjoyed the boat tour a lot because it allowed me to see how other people live and to immerse myself in their culture. Finally, the nightlife is all around Khao San Road, also referred to as Backpack Central. It is full of bars, restaurants, street food vendors, and masseuse. Khao San Road never sleeps so if you really wanna party, that is the place to go.
