Travel during February for their Carnival season. Bring your walking shoes! No it’s not like the Caribbean’s carnival but it’s a great time! The Gelato is a must! Or travel on a waterbus to the small islands such as Burano! The locals are very friendly. For my younger female travelers especially solo be aware of being marked with bracelets or trinkets guys will come and try to put on your wrist. Also book your gondola rides ahead of time because walking up and asking for a ride and price they will give you an overprice amount. Always carry euro a lot of the local shops still only take cash.
