Traveling through India was very interesting. It is an extremely beautiful country with very friendly people. I can honestly say that I felt no racism while I was there. People were very curious, especially once they learned I was African-American. They had many questions about President Obama which was hilarious to me. The food is amazing. If you have never traveled to a country like India, before, then, you may be surprised by the fact that they have extreme poverty and extreme wealth literally right next to each other. Also, I encountered the most aggressive panhandlers I have ever met while in India. Specifically while in Bangalore.
I was able to travel from Mumbai to Bangalore to Salem and also a town called Mysore. In Mysore I was able to visit a silk factory and purchase some amazing silk products. 24 karat gold is also very inexpensive compared to other parts of the world. Many people travel to India specifically for this reason.
There is a beautiful palace in Mysore with a very interesting history, but definitely a must visit if you have an opportunity.
One of my favorite trips ever! Had a wonderful time in Ghana. Started off in Accra. The experience was amazing the moment I stepped off the airplane in the airport. Local hotel had extremely friendly staff, and the food was amazing. I was able to travel to the Volta region and stayed in a city called Ho. Was able to visit these beautiful waterfalls but I cannot remember the name. Highlight of the trip was visiting the Cape Coast castle. by far the most powerful thing I have ever experienced. Once you walk out onto the beach through the point of no return, you can turn around and are greeted with a welcome home sign. I literally cried as they welcomed all of African descent home!!
Had an amazing time in Manchester! Locals are extremely friendly. Went out to dinner with several locals I met randomly and I’m still friends with to this day. Watched a Manchester United game. I’m not gonna lie, the food is meh…..but overall excellent vibe. Many people take the train to downtown and then back out to their local homes outside of the city. Definitely a must visit place. Very chill babe.
Had a great time in France. I stayed in one of the best hotels ever called Sofitel!! Stayed there in both Paris as well as one in Marseille. Amazing food…specifically the breakfast. Hope you enjoy!
