The local food of Saint Lucia is very much like Dominican food delicious ! We stayed at the Jade Mountain Hotel. The food served at the buffet had plenty of the country food. It was close to town which gave us the change to go out and experience with the locals, enjoy the local food have local beer, enjoy the block party going on that night. It was safe to travel in taxi.

I absolutely love Paris! The last time I went was with my sister en route from our grandpa’s funeral in Nigeria. So you can imagine how downcast our spirits would be. Our Parisian break was intended to be a relaxing escape from the intense emotions we were feeling and boy did Paris deliver. The people were so welcoming, the air felt good, the pastries and coffee were MUAH!! The city wasn’t as busy as you would expect. This is most likely due to our visit in late November. We stayed in a boutique hotel in the city and if we weren’t walking, we used Uber to get to most of our destinations. We really just took it easy the two days we were there. We strolled around the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, The Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees while stopping at corners for crepes or coffee. I absolutely loved the flower shops and grocery stores selling fruit outside on the streets.

Guadeloupe is made up of several islands filled with all the nature you could ever want. A considerable portion of the main island is made up of a National Park with countless waterfalls, lakes and forestry. If you get bored of forest there are beaches all over the island each more beautiful than the next. On top of all of that Guadeloupe has a rich history, a portion of which is on display at the Memorial ATCe, a stunning and modern museum in Pointe-à-Pitre. The island is predominantly French speaking, so knowing a few words in French is a bonus but you shouldn’t have trouble getting around on English.

Martinique is full of rich history in regards to it’s relationship to the slave trade, sugar cane, bananas, and of course rum. Each day I spent on the island consisted of visiting one corner of the island for it’s beach, rum factory, and some historical aspect. In the most touristy area which is Les Trois-Ilets you must visit the home of Josephine Bonaparte and take the guided tour before heading up the road to grabbing something to eat in a restaurant located near the hotels. The Saint James Rum Distillerie and the restaurant right next door are a must see as well. Further down a rather difficult road is the Banana museum which was an incredibly beautiful and informational place to visit. Martinique is definitely a couple’s vacation spot where you’ll spend a lot of lovely time driving around the island in awe of all the beautiful views.
