Senegal is one of the African countries that kept intact its cultural patrimony. There is a lot to see but, some places HAVE TO be on your checklist when go in Dakar (the capital city). The first one is the Goree island, a place that still keeps the deep story and memory of slavery and colonisation (this is where I learned that slavery and colonisation were actually two different things: one happened before the other). The second place is the African monument Renaissance, where you can have a beautiful view of Dakar which is actually a peninsula. You can also visit the Pink lake. However, the lake shows its pinkness mostly between December and February because of it is the cold season in Senegal. Also, the place is quite far and not that accessible. Therefore, ask to the locals to show you the easiest way to get there. Personally, I am an adventurous person, so I got there by taking the common transports. But trust me, it wasn’t easiest way.
This summer , I visited the all UK ( England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales ). What I loved the most was the disparities between the states. If you are seeking for modernity , visit England , particularly Birmingham, London, Manchester. For a person who prefer greeny places mixed up with history , I would recommend Scotland. Edinburgh and its castles would make you travel through time. In Belfast ( Northern Ireland) , you can visit the titanic museum, ulster museum, a gorgeous botanic garden. however , Wales was my favorite place with its nice beaches and its incredible views in the moutains.
Well well well . I don’t even know where to start coz Ghanaian vibes can felt anywhere. No matter the kind of traveller that you are , Ghana will please u . U can start by basic activities just for for immersion into the culture. I would recommend to start yr journey in Accra center and visit the museum , the independence square (where u can take incredible pictures) but importantly the Kwame Nkrumah( first Ghanaian president) mausoleum. For nightlife and good vibes , just go Osu. They also have nice beaches where u can relax quietly. If u wanna go deeper into the Asente culture, u can travel to Kumasi. It is not really far from Accra, just a few hours in bus. There, u can definitely embrace the energy of the past kingdom coz the relics and vestiges are well preserved into the museums. It is litteraly a time travel with the explanation of the guides. Don't hesitate at all. And go for it. ?
