    Things To Do
    Edit

I just got back recently from Denver, Colorado and had a great time. When you arrive at Denver International Airport, if you didn't rent a car don't bother ubering it can be pricy. If your hotel is in downtown Denver and if you are comfortable with city transportation, take the train for 10.50 to union station and take the bus to your hotel. My friend and I stayed at Hotel Indigo in Downtown Denver. It was conveniently located one block from Union Station. We choose this location so we would not have to uber our way around town. Our hotel was very beautiful. We stayed in a two bedroom room with city views, so our walls facing the city were actually 6ft windows. Absolutely beautiful. We paid $600 for the room for 3 nights. Things to do: We went to Red Rock Amphitheater around 12:30pm. It was pretty busy, but beautiful. For all my nature lovers and hikers, this is your spot. Yes this is a concert venue, however, they are open regardless if an event is schedule there or not. It is free to visit which is a plus. We also went out to Auroa and went on a sunset horseback riding adventure at 12 miles stables. This was AMAZING. The price was $69 before tax and they include a gratuity charge for the sunset ride. They have other options that do not include gratuity. (I don't recommend doing this if the temperature is cold outside). I enjoyed myself, but I was also freezing. One my favorite things I did while there, is I visited the Denver Selfie Museum. I love interactive museums like this and had a lot of fun. The cost was $30 for the weekend and there were about 25 interactive spots to take photos. You don't have to reserve online, and we stayed longer than an hour and no one said anything. Food: The food in Denver was okay. I'm a big foodie so I always to to find the best eat. With that being said, the BEST place to go get breakfast is Denver Biscuit Company. You wont regret it. We went to location on Colfax, and if you choose this location, it is best to note that it is in the Atomic Cowboy building. The wait times can be extremely long; however, they have a "join the waitlist" option online and its best to reserve is about an hour before you hope to arrive to help cut down on the wait (this location is small, but I promise it's worth the wait) Nightlife: The vibes of Denver to me were more bar vibes which mean no dressing up unless you really wanted to. There were a few lounges to dress up at, but downtown Denver is all bars and rooftops. Most of the locations we went to played pretty good music. Some of the spots we went to were Brothers Bar & Grill, 45thirty rooftop, and TapFourteen Overall, I really enjoyed my trip. I'll definitely go back, but I'll go to Colorado Springs this time to go hiking.

I visited Sint Marteen/St. Martin is June 2019 for a wedding and make a trip out of it. The resort we stayed was average, Simpson Bay Resort. We paid $487 for 5 nights in their junior suite. The price includes the wedding discount. The beaches were beautiful. We went to the famous Maho Beach that sits right behind the airport. They had many excursions and one I did was the Blue Bubbles Jeep Safari Tour. I got to both ride and drive the jeep in the mountains, go to local spots we couldn't reach by foot, and learn about the culture. The food here was pretty good We went to Pineapple Pete and got ice cream from Carousel Gelateria Bar. Nightlife was similar to others. We went to Roxxy Beach Bar for an all white party. Traveling while Black was cool. We felt safe as two women traveling alone. The people thought we were locals, until we talked and heard our accent. It a must to explore both the Dutch and French side. It was crazy to see how they were so different yet so similar.

Puerto rico was AMAZING so beautiful. I went in 2018 right after the hurricane and they truly had come far. We stayed at the Best Western in Condado right next to San Juan. We choose this location due to having points to redeem and reduced our cost to paying for 1 night instead of 5. We did rent a car at the airport. It was fairly easy to drive around town and google maps was pretty up to date. The food was GREAT. We went to Waffler Avenue on the beach for Breakfast. We also went to Ropa Vieja Grill. The Beaches Culebra is a must! Just a short Ferry ride from Fajardo. The nightlife GREAT! We went to Mijani the Club in La Placita de Santurce for salsa night Thursday. This particular area is a market that turns into a nightlife spot in the evenings/weekends. Many resturants and bar similar to Old San Juan. We also did a rum tasting tour with the Bacardi Factory that included 5 samples of rum (straight shots). Y The people are BEAUTIFUL and friendly. Im planning to go back in 2021 and couldn't be more excited.

    Traveling While Black
    Edit

I visited Paris in April of 2019. The weather was kind of chilly and rainy the first two days and the other 3 days it was fair. I booked my travel for me and 3 of my friends. We are all Black with 3 of us with English as our first language and 1 as French as her first language. We stayed in a cute boutique hotel, Elysees Ceramic. The price was $1000 USD for 4 adults with 4 single beds and breakfast included. The staff was very great and informative but they didn't have wash clothes. We came with our things, but thats something to remember. My overall experience when it came to traveling as a group group wasn't always pleasant. We were turned away from 2 restaurants in a respectful manner, but because we were Americans. They politely told us that their restaurant was reservations only and apologized; however when we walked out my friend who spoke French told us the reason why as she over heard them speaking French. I do not remember the names of those restaurants. We did however eat at Les Demoiselles Restaurant Cafe Paris 17 and Brasserie Nai (an Indian place). One thing that stood out to me culturally was if something wasn't the way you wanted it cook they do not replace the entire dish but rather recook the meat you gave them. This happened to my friend at 2 restaurants. She asked for her burger well done and when she bit into she say it wasn't well done. They apologized and took it back, but brought her back the same piece of meat and just recooked it. There were a few nice people while we were out exploring the history and culture of Paris. They gave us suggestions of food places or places to visit in the city. Overall I intend to go France again, but probably not Paris. Oh yea it was pretty pricy, we had to exchange more money. We stayed in a more expensive area which made sense as to why our money went so fast.
