A Little About Me:
I am a finance professional by day. I own an online boutique for women and I am a lifestyle blogger part time. I am an avid traveler. I have traveled to about 17 countries so far. Outside of traveling, fitness is very important to me. I work out 4-5 times a week and I also have become a new runner during quarantine. I also love to cook and eat out.
I went Bali in 2016 with 4 other girlfriends. We rent an Airbnb which was really gorgeous and convenient location. We were right near the W Hotel. Literally within walking distance. We ate at the W a few night for dinner and we also got massages at the end of our trip. Bali is a beautiful country. In comparison to say Thailand, Bali temples and historical structures are not that of Thailand. Bali temples are more smaller scale. We went to the monkey sanctuary which was an interesting experience. I was scared but managed to get some decent pictures lol. We also went to the Riced Fields which I would recommend doing because the sight is so gorgeous. We did elephant riding and also did white water rafting as well in the Amazon. Both very dope experiences. If you are not scared of the water to do white water rafting I highly recommend. We also did ATVs which was great because we did it through the towns and also through the forest. So we got to see the inner towns of how the locals really lived. I do not recall feeling uncomfortable or unsafe during this experience either. We visited a few temples as I mentioned. The most notable one was Uluwatu Temple (Water Temple). This was a larger temple on the water with other things to do and see as well. This temple included a native performance by the locals which was great because I can appreciate the historical aspect of all my trips. The bugs in Bali are another level so I do suggest bringing some kind of bug spray for sure. The food was good from what I remember. As I mentioned, we ate at the W a few nights and obviously the food was on the nicer side there. Local restaurants we ate at were also good as well though. I definitely would go back to Bali because since 2016, I know there has been a lot od development for tourist since its gotten a lot popular over the last 4/5 years.
Egypt is by far my top 3 favorite destinations. I went to Cairo, Sharm el Sheik, and Luxor. Cairo the hotel we stayed in I believe was the Sheraton. The hotel has a perfect view of the pyramids. You wake up to the view daily and it is nothing like it. You do not need more than two or three days in Cairo because outside the pyramids and the Sphinx it is not much else to do. We took the camel ride to see the pyramids and the Sphinx. Egypt is dry heat period so just anticipate to be hot hot hot AF. Sharm el Sheik is not typically on Americans list. This is like the Cabo to Europeans that travel here. It is nice hotels and more relaxing than any exploring. Here we had dinner in the desert with a full Egyptian meal and belly dancers. Such a dope experience. We also did a sunrise ATV tour throughout the desert as well. Dope experience too. Luxor was probably my favorite. Rich in history and lots to explore. We. did a hot air balloon ride which was amazing. The hot air balloon goes over the Nile River from the West Bank to the East Bank. You have to wake up and do this super early before the sun reaches its peak. Here we saw King Tut's body and tomb. The Egyptian museum is here as well with so much history. I had no issues with the food while traveling but some people hate it. I suggest being openminded. Egypt is definitely for exploring and adventure because of the rich history. It is so much to see and do. If you want relaxation and luxury then def do Sharm el Sheik. When I go back I plan to hit other parts because it is so many places to see in Egypt.
I went to Tulum during the Pandemic over July 4th weekend with four of my girlfriends. There were no travel restrictions in Tulum or in the United States. So the traveling was a typical seamless process. The plane going I flew Delta and the plane was less than 50% at capacity. Every middle seat was empty. Similar thing coming back I flew JetBlue and the flight also was not packed either probably 35-40% at capacity. Tulum is about 1 hr and 40 mins from Cancun airport. We took a driver to our Airbnb. Our Airbnb was gorgeous! Tulum has a strip of hotels and resorts where Casa Malca (Pablo Escobar Mansion) is for example. We were about 15/20 minutes from this area. We ate at Rosa Negra, Taro, Gitano (least favorite), and Casa Malca which are all near each other. La Querida was a good local cheaper good food spot in Tulum we had dinner at one night. Burrito Amor for good cheap daily breakfast. We did the Cenotes which was about 15 minutes from our Airbnb. We went to the Laguna Kaan Luum which was also 15/20 minutes from our Airbnb. During this time the ruins were closed due to COVID so we missed that. During the other days of our stay we went to the beach clubs that were open which was still a pretty good experience. The season in Tulum right now there is A LOT of seaweed on the beaches so the beaches are not as beautiful as usual but that is something outside the control of anyone. No issues traveling while black. The locals, our driver and Airbnb host were all super friendly. We felt comfortable and safe. I definitely plan on going back again after the pandemic ends.
Went to Thailand in April 2018 on a girls trip. Super dope. Thailand was high on my list so I was happy to get there and enjoy what it had to offer and I was not disappointed. We went to Bangkok first for 2 days. Which ended up not being the best thing. There is some holiday in April while we were in Bangkok and all the major temples everyone would want to see were closed. We did the floating market but again a lot of the shops were closed. Some where open so we still had a good experience. Missing the temples was kind of wack but this was out of our control so we made the best of it and saw what we could which ended up being a lot of the smaller temples that you can just go to without passes or tickets. Bangkok is a busy robust city way more than I expected so that was a highlight for me. We stayed at the Tower Club at Lebua which is where they filmed Hangover movie. Accommodations were great for our size 8 people. We got two apartment style rooms. Very clean and food was good at the hotel. They have one of the highest restaurant at this hotel and the view is absolutely gorgeous. Would definitely recommend staying here. My group also went to Phuket and Phi Phi Islands. Phuket was definitely my favorite out of the two. We had a gorgeous Airbnb house. Phuket has great restaurants that we loved! I have a list if you are interested. For the nightlife we hit Bangla Road a few nights which is very interesting to say the least. Definitely, something you have to go to and experience at least once if you are in Phuket. Phi Phi Island was my least favorite and it was only because of our hotel. The hotel was older and it just was not pretty. Luckily we didn't have to stay long. I'd say research the hotels in Phi Phi because they tend to be older. I did love being able to visit all the nearby islands while in Phi Phi Islands. It is essentially a boozy cruise boat tour that you can do which is majority of the day and I highly recommend the islands there are nothing like anything you will ever see in the states or Caribbean. We hit Carby Island, Monkey Beach, and I want to say two more popular beaches. Thailand overall is a very affordable trip once you get there. My friend who was with me on this trip had went two years prior and did say she saw inflation in some price but Thailand is a developing country with a lot of tourism so it is expected that as the years pass it will become more pricey but not anything way out of this world. I definitely recommend Thailand and plan on vising Bangkok for sure since I missed a few things on my list to do and I'd definitely go back to Phuket for sure. Traveling while Black in any part of Asia is interesting because they literally are so amazed by us. They will just come up to you and ask for pictures and just depending on the person or group of people you run into they can be kind or rude about it. Rude in the sense not asking to take a picture but rather just walk up to you and start snapping. I do not try to take it as personal or let it get to me. I am traveling to have fun and be safe and as long as you do not disturb my peace I am open to whatever within reason :).

Rome was definitely always on my travel bucket list but at the time it was not a top contender. I traveled to Italy for my mother's birthday. Italy was always on her bucket list and this was her first time on a trip outside of the Caribbean and US. So I booked a trip for her along with my sister. We also traveled with one of my best friend's her mom and sister and one of her mom's friends. Rome by far exceeded my expectations. I was actually mad that I had not been to Rome sooner. I am very much into the historical aspect of my travels and there is so much to offer in Rome historically. Simply walking the streets is a beautiful historic landscape lesson. Most of the city is untouched architecturally which is what is so special and beautiful to me about Rome. We stayed in an Airbnb in the Rome 10 minute walk from The Vatican which made it convenient to get to a lot of the other sites. Getting around town we used MyTaxi which is similar to our Uber and Lyft. For visiting the main sites like the Colosseum, The Vatican, and St. Peter's Basilica I would highly suggest you go earlier in the day and also buy tickets for these attractions. If you can get tickets for skip the line that's even better. You will fine very long lines for these kind of attractions. And if you are the type that does not like guided tours like myself (I like to be in control of my time and see what I want rather than be stuck with a group of people) there are tour were you can do not guided and if you cannot get those just still opt for the guided tours and leave the group lol. We did that for Colosseum, got skip the line tickets with a guided group then left them and were just fine. The Trevi Fountain you do not need a ticket for but it gets very crowded. Pantheon I do not think you need a guided tour for this. I was fine with just walking around and observing everything myself. The line was not too bad for this when I went and the days we walked pass it it was not a really horrible wait. Visit the Spanish Steps for a photo opt and the high end fashion store are also in the area if you are into shopping or just browsing. Food in Italy is A1! A1 okay? I am very much into pasta so I was a happy camper on a daily basis. The gelato, man listen, I had it everyday sometimes multiple times a day. Traverse City has the best authentic restaurants. Stay away from the restaurants near all the sites those will not be as authentic. Still decent but I am a foodie so I liked looking for the better restaurants that had fresh pasta and things like that. My group also hit Venice for a day which was a train ride away. I thought a day trip was good for us. We also went to Amalfi Coast for three days which was amazing. We took the train to Amalfi Coast asa well and stayed in a gorgeous Airbnb that was about 20 minutes from Grand Marina beach (most popular beach in Amalfi). We also took a yacht to Capri for a day which was also a great day trip. Definitely plan on going back to Italy. There a few more spots I want to hit like Milan, Florence, Naples, and I'd definitely go back to Rome, Venice, and Amalfi Coast for sure.
